This is such a calming and well produced video, it makes me want to get out my sewing! Excellent craft and such a dedication to detail! I very much look forwards to the rest of this project!
I just wanted to say i found your instagram a long time ago and your craftsmanship inspired me to start making things of my own. And while i genuinely don't think im a pro or anything, it brings me joy to see you still posting and working on such extraordinary projects
This comment is so lovely, I have been thinking about it non-stop for the last week. I'm so happy to hear that you got into making things. The thing I've always most wanted is to share my joy of crafting with others. Here's to many more great projects!
Hi, would you say that sewing this/hanfu in general was difficult? I am thinking of sewing the costume for Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, but I am a beginner at sewing. I do have a sewing machine though, at least
I loved watching this! I was reminding myself about the critical importance of pressing everything, having good tools at hand, and applying patience. I used to sew a lot, then lost the juju, but recently started again. I crave to do complicated projects. That’s why your videos are so inspirational for me. I love getting into the zone while sewing, doing miscellaneous handwork, and playing music. (My Drummer hubby loves to, also. He calls it being in the pocket. 😂) XOjennyinseattle
Thank you so much Jenny, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! It's really tough to pick up old hobbies again, I've recently gone through that with playing cello, but it's so rewarding! I do draft most of my patterns - I drafted all the patterns in this video. The exception is in my corset video, that pattern is from Redthreaded! I've never filmed the drafting process because I am, quite frankly, not a very elegant drafter!
@@dreamy_december Thank you! Good luck falling in love again with your cello! The Drummer plays cello and tuba, too. I love to revisit musical instruments because when I’m woodshedding it’s like meditating! I think I’ll just practice for 20 minutes and suddenly an hour has gone by! 🤎
Thank you! This is self patterned, but as for hanfu patterns I have a few book recommendations. First is Hanfu Pattern Making by TT Duong, which is available in English. The second is the Textbook for Making Han Chinese Clothing by Gu Xiaosi and Xu Handa.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hope you will enjoy the future videos for this project as well ☺️
How beautiful it turned out! How beautifully shot! I am amazed at your talent! Delightfully!
Thank you very much! I'm spending lots of time trying to improve my camera skills 💚 so i am happy to hear that you liked how it was shot!
This looks absolutely amazing. You are so skilled.
Thank you very much 💚
I didn't know you had a TH-cam channel - Glad I do now! So crisp and pretty, your bias taping is much cleaner than mine! 😆
Thank you so much, I'm glad you found it here 💚 I've been shifting more and more of my progress stuff to long form video!

Are you drafting these patterns yourself?

Beautiful video. Beautiful project. Do you have a recommended pattern for this?
