  • I took a visit to Liverpool Cathedral at sunrise on Saturday 5th March 2022.
    I had been meaning to visit this building and capture it by drone for a long time but had to wait out the bad winter months and catch it at the right time.
    Despite it being very cold for me early in the morning the weather was perfect for flying and I think I captured the cathedral with some great shots.
    I hope you enjoy the video and the history/facts I have shared too.

    My Daughters graduation was in there from LJMU, amazing setting. Go up on the roof. That’s high and scary, with a relatively low perimeter wall 🤢 Great vid as always 👍

    I have grew up playing in her Grounds, taken Stone etchings with School, eaten here Berries, been to the top...(and rang her bells with my dear rested friend Karl Lee), nearly killed myself - climbing her walls, on the Tarzan Swing and jumping the Water feature, played hide and seek within (and got locked in all night). She also Sheltered me during some of my loneliness times and hosted many functions I have attended, inclusive of both my Parents Funerals. This Grand Lady is so much a part of my life, and I am, and will forever be grateful for her looking after me. I feel safe in her presence and I see her every day from my living room window. This Video has been a lifetime in the making, and watching it fills me with such emotion and memories, I will forever cherish it. Thank you🥰😇❤‍🩹🙏

    Great video. So based on completion date it's newer than the main stand at Goodison Park. Incredible to think that a building is completed in the Seventies based on a pre-1904 architectural design. Can you imagine 74 years of effort and toil going into a 'modern' building lol.

    We did the inside and roof tour a couple of years ago the roof view is amazing. You go up in a lift which stops just above the central dome with the last part of the climb by staircase all the raw concrete work is exposed a real contrast to the interior finish you see from inside the central knave.

    New to droning. I have a dji mini 2 and I’m put off flying using the UAV app. What would the maximum wind gusts be and be safe to fly. Sometimes the wind speed says green but gusts are not safe. Thanks

    • @misterdroneuk

      One important tip is to make sure you occasionally check the tightness of the screws holding the rotors on. My Mini 2 threw a blade the other day without warning and I was extremely fortunate to find the crashed (but otherwise undamaged) machine in a stubble field.

    • @robertcook2572
      @robertcook2572 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the craft gives you a warning then heed it - unless you can afford to pay £500 for a new one without breaking stride. There are plenty of suitable days...

    In terms of appearance, it's scientifically proven to be the fourteenth ugliest building in the known universe.

    • @misterdroneuk

      You think it’s ugly Robert?

    • @robertcook2572
      @robertcook2572 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@misterdroneuk 'fraid so. I've seen friendlier-looking and more welcoming multi-storey car parks. The Catholic cathedral may be shoddily built, but at least it's entirely different. The Anglican monstrosity appears to ape a mediaeval cathedral in plan but lacks grace, majesty or charm. Oh, and the stone is a nasty colour. Just my opinion, of course.
