After getting use to the bees behavior and the weather and times of days, my son no longer needs any gloves or suit and just a little smoke. I have helped him and never worn a suit or gloves either and haven’t been stung. You can tell when they are agitated and when smoke is needed over time. That is a nice kit for the money!

Awesome that your bees are docile. I’m sure I’ll make plenty of rookie mistakes with the bees at first. I’m waiting on my bee suit now. On backorder…
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

Even with the issues of the gloves & pellets, that is a lot of kit for the money! Seems perfect for a beginner. I am sure as you become more experienced there will be other or different tools that you prefer, but that kit seems to have all of the bases covered.

Really is a good mix of tools for a starting point. I figured the gloves were going to be fair at best! Still very happy with the overall value!

It’s been years but I remember my grandfather trying to gently pushing smoke around the hive. He didn’t use smoke most of the time. Didn’t use gloves or a hood unless he was rescuing or moving a hive. Of course he told me not to be a wimp when I got stung:) looking forward to your bee information

All of this looks very scary. Those bees.. I think they are after us and want to bite us all the time lol. This is probably the last thing i would try unless I would have 100 access and have my house in one corner and the bees on another on the property. Good luck! I Hope it works well for you.

I’m getting Italian bees. They are fairly docile. Always a risk though.
One day last summer changed my mind, I was in the garden and there were a lot of wild/feral bees collecting nectar, I got a few on my hands they didn’t sting me. Thought, this might not 🐝 too bad!

They make a heated capping knife that is the bees knees.

I’ve seen those as well! If the hives do well, I will invest into one!

@@shinobi2726 Maybe a pass or two with a torch over the knife. I’ll have to play around with it when the time comes. See what works best!

I think you will like pine needles better than most anything else.
Whit pine needles cram it full.

Pine needles and cones do work very well.

I tried to find some dry needles, but it had rained a few hours before the video!
      Thanks for the suggestions!
