    Loving how this is filmed.
    No narration or dramatic music, or rapidly cut or even edited together clips....
    Just natural sounds and exactly what we want.

Please little beautiful birdie get away. That crocodile is coming. Ugggghhhh!!! Oh honey, can you go out there and save it? Can we keep’em?! Scare the crocodile away. Go create a diversion. Usually, scavengers don't have much to fear from carnivores since their flesh is notoriously stinking and full of parasites. But crocodiles being reptiles, they're among the few who can eat them without consequence.

    • @Tekweni
      @Tekweni  8 ปีที่แล้ว +138

      I agree with you, the two hyena seemed very nervous and concerned standing in the water, with the possibility of crocodiles lurking around.

    • @broadbandislife
      @broadbandislife 8 ปีที่แล้ว +40

      Tekweni I've seen a video of hyenas acting very fearlessly around a lake which the wild dogs they were squabbling with remained quite terrified of, and gleefully abusing that for tactical advantage as a refuge whenever they were getting worried about the doggie numerical superiority. (Ie. they literally parked their asses in the lake if the dogs started swarming them.) Since nobody involved in that lengthy exchange got et by a toothy reptile (including the impala the dogs initially chased into the water, and which a particularly bold one then dragged out) it can probably be inferred they're generally pretty good at estimating the degree of "crocodile risk" present...
      Would be nice to know what exactly they watch for though. :/

      @@aaronwilliams6989 I have some dried hippo skin. It is extremely tough. Hippo skin only becomes more difficult to tear as it dries with time. It doesn't become decomposed rotten mush, just very hard hippo leather one inch thick. The best time for a crocodile or any scavenger to eat a hippo is soon after it dies and before the skin dries out and becomes even tougher. African tribesmen traditionally used dried hippo skin as shields it is so impenetrable.
