It was all over the news in 1995. Our local radio station just dedicated an hour playing his whole discography with a few in-between breaks by the DJ to remeber him by because he met him personally at one of his concerts before his death and he was a fan of his music. To think, someone that young and at his peak was taken from us that early.

Back in the year 1984 me and my friends used to listen to his songs when we ate lunch in Frankie's Home Diner back in Manhattan. You will forever be remembered, thank you for making our generation amazing and proud to live in a time where we got to see the legend himself. It's so tragic that Austin Richard Post II couldn't meet his father but he knows he was loved, I'm glad the kid is strong and brave and equally talented like his father and has also chosen to be a music artist, all the best wishes and brighter future to the kid. Austin was such a magnificent artist. He was so ahead of his time. Sad that he is no longer with us, but I'm happy his music has been discovered and more and more people are discovering his stuff! He is so underrated! I appreciate the remix version that was released! This helps spread Austin'd music so his short lived legend will live on!
I think that was just a rumor to drum up ticket sales for their '87 box-office bomb "Detention High." I heard that she was involved with Charlie Sheen and he was with Alli Sheedy at the time. I think they would have made a better couple, honestly. I mean, look at Charlie Sheen now...
@@deniseschnurr1765 "Detention High" AKA Walmart Breakfast Club. I remember my cousin making me watch it at a sleepover, and I was asleep within a minute into the film.
It's a tragedy that he was killed in his home in November 1995, I was so devastated by the news that I had to cry in front of my wife when I saw that on TV... Pre Malone was one of the most talented singers of the 80s, he even got to perform for the Grammy Awards of 1984, 1985 and 1988! The murder remains unsolved till this day and his son known under the name of Post Malone vowed to honor his father's memories by following his footsteps as a singer and by conducting his own private investigation in an effort to uncover the identity of his father's killer.
My theory is that drug dealers killed him when he couldn't pay for their substance. I remember how he had a serious drug problem during the 80s. Especially with cocaine. Rest in peace 1962-1995
I remember that fateful morning when I turned on the TV and saw the horrible news.... played his music all day that day, I still have the tapes. What a true legend, gone but forgotten 😔 rip. 1962-1995
I remember hearing it all unfold on the Radio. When he ran a red light to get away from his abusive fan. Shortly after he was rushed to the hospital he died. Not from the fan but a drunk driver,... hit him causing his car to filp. Ive heard rumors that his body was so damaged the family didn't want to do a viewing.....in 1995 ugh so young. DONT DRINK AND DRIVE EVERYONE PLEASE we lost a legend because of it too🤧🥺. Also dont be abusive to anyone especially your Idol who constantly gets ridiculed. I still remember listening to this song with my pops at the car dealership. Good times😊
@@skinniedree that's was just some fake email that came out three years after his death FROM HIS MANAGER I know but still🙄. I still think he clout chased his death for Harper's weekly interview.
i was roller skating and not paying attention to what was in front of me and i bumped into a boy while this song was playing, were married now with 3 kids and 2 dogs. i love listening to this song with my kids and husband. thank you for posting this song for the youth to know about the good times.
Dear Austin Richard Post Sr., Sometimes at random instances throughout the day, I think of you. I think of how thankful I am to have you in my life and about how your music spoke to me. When I felt like I had nowhere left to turn, there you were with an open heart and open arms. I never knew how much you would mean to me when I first listened to your music. There is just something I needed to say to you. Thank you for helping me find myself. You told me that this was my time to think about me and to be a little selfish. You helped me to realize my worth and to never let a situation define that. No matter what, I'm still me. Though it may sound vain or conceited, you made me realize how great of a person I am. I'm proud of myself and how far I've come. I was so low and had forgotten about my own needs, but you were always there to remind me. Though there is so much more I have to say to you, this just seemed to be the most important. When I heard news of your death, a part of me inside died. I could not believe it. You died way too young. Crazy what drugs do to your body. I can't believe it has been 25 years. Thank you for getting me through my tough time. I can't express to you how much you mean to me and how great of a friend you are. I turned to you from the very beginning and you were there until the end. I owe you the world. I love you and I miss you, dear friend. Rest in Peace, the original Post Malone 1962-1995. Sincerely, your biggest fan.
Gunned down at the prime of his youth. Who ever shot up his Lamborghini Countach is a sick bastard and I hope they find him/her and bring them to justice. I remember my mom playing his CDs for me in her Walkman. Life seemed to have changed after he died. RIP Malone. We love you forever.
The story is that he was supposed to sing a pivotal line in “We Are the World,” but he came late and drunk to the studio taping. Quincy Jones had no choice but to give that part to a young up and coming pop singer in order to get the song cut in time for worldwide release. That pop singer’s name . . . was Michael Jackson.

This takes me back to ‘87 where I first heard the song while working at an animatronic themed pizza place. Stopped working there ever since the incident.
I remember when I was a naive teenage girl back in '83. This song brought my boyfriend, Chad, and I together at a party. I'll never forget that day. We're happily married now and have 18 children. RIP Past Malone, 1980-1984.
I was 1 years old when this man passed. I have always hated I was not around to see him play live.. I can only imagine the following he would have today if he had not passed away in 95 from a ford bronco accident. The 2021 Bronco First edition is promising to release a limited edition Post Malone that includes a vintage poster and soft top cover print of Post from this album. rest in peace, hero

This brings back such good memories! I remember driving my dad’s red ‘69 Mustang Mach 1 while listening to this. Me and my girlfriend went on a road trip to Miami back in the summer of ‘84, we left Atlanta and I remember I stopped for gas at a Shell gas station and I saw his band’s cassette tape, I bought it and I didn’t think much of it but when I played it we immediately fell in love with this song. I remember cruising on the highway and just listening to this while we both sang along for hours! We had such an amazing summer together, and this song brings me back again to the good old days. Now she’s my wife and every once in a while we both listen to this song and talk about the summer of ‘84, we both laugh and think about how amazing that road trip was! Well, bad news was that I scratched my dad’s Ford in a McDonald’s parking lot and he was pretty pissed, but hey, at least I had the best summer of my life. Rest In Peace Austin Post Sr. 🕊❤️ such an amazing man! Never forget! Thank you for all the memories! Me and my wife still listen to your songs ❤️
I can't believe he got the chance to collab with Hall and Oates around this time, what a small world. I heard he got the musical inspo from them in this song. It's too bad, he never got as much credit as they did. Either way, this album popped off in 85'.
i remember riding my bike in '87 with my headphones on. even when it was nighttime. Feeling the breeze on my face with this classic playing. Rest in peace. (1962-1995)
My boyfriend, Lloyd, and I got back together to this song in 1989. We broke up because I had too much baggage. I found out that my dad had embezzled money from the seniors at his nursing home. I felt like my family was cursed. I had to let him go. He stood under my window in the middle of the night and blasted this mix tape on his boombox. We got married and had three kids. Good times.
I can remember waking up the next morning after he died and turning on the news to find out he died. I called my best friend to tell him the news and he just started wailing. Even my wife started to cry and she didn’t even listen to him. Anyways I’m glad his son is carrying on his legacy. RIP PRE MALONE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE KING 👑👑👑

That summer of 82' this song was such a hit. I will never forget that blue eyed boy that skated with me while she looked at me, this song never stopped playing
God dude, just listening to this brings the memories flooding back... I remember when this song dropped in '86. I was a Junior in highschool and I had been crushing on this girl like crazy. We ended up going to prom together that year and this was the final song of the night. We danced together and I took the oportunity to kiss her and tell her how much she meant to me. She was touched and after highschool we got married and have been together ever since. We moved to upstate New York (we were from New Jersey) and have 2 beautiful children. It really is a shame he passed in '95. He was such a legend. Thanks Post for all the wonderful songs and the memories that now come with them. Gone but never forgotten. R.I.P 1962-1995 ❤

This song was very popular among the jet-set crowd all across Latin America during the 1980's. It was a time when democracy was slowly returning to the region and many people felt it was a song that represented a newly found freedom that was repressed and denied by years of hard-line dictatorships. The youth of Latin America utilized this song as their personal anthem to liberty and prosperity.

R.I.P Post Malone (1962-1995)
So sad he was just 33 😢. R.I.P Sir Post Malone (1962-1995).
Daren Stein Pre Malone is his real name that's what I heard so and his son's name is Post Malone. I'm not sure though but he will be remembered and will never be forgotten. Thankyou for the amazing songs and the memories along with it. R.I.P Pre Malone (1962-1995) ♥️😢

I remember when they finally released this song in Asia. All the cassettes ran out.

I have the U.S. version of this tape! Still works and sounds amazing.
Rumor has it that Post Malone once had a one-night stand with Cyndi Lauper.
No they were married but she cheated him so they divorced
@@si.2110 Oh, that's right. I forgot about that.
Novel inspiration right there
Trainer Goshi not dead what is wrong w u people..
My theory is that drug dealers killed him when he couldn't pay for their substance. I remember how he had a serious drug problem during the 80s. Especially with cocaine. Rest in peace
1962-1995
I still remember going to his concert in 1993
I remember that fateful morning when I turned on the TV and saw the horrible news.... played his music all day that day, I still have the tapes.
Good times😊
J Moore I thought he was the one who caused the accident tho.
@@skinniedree that's was just some fake email that came out three years after his death FROM HIS MANAGER I know but still🙄. I still think he clout chased his death for Harper's weekly interview.
Well post malone made a song called “circles” in heaven. ❤️
really is a shame :/
Every generation has at least one "I remember when I heard so-and-so had died," and Post Malone's death is definitely one of ours, ya know?
i was roller skating and not paying attention to what was in front of me and i bumped into a boy while this song was playing, were married now with 3 kids and 2 dogs. i love listening to this song with my kids and husband. thank you for posting this song for the youth to know about the good times.
Dear Austin Richard Post Sr.,
Sometimes at random instances throughout the day, I think of you.
You lot are wrong for this 😂😂😂
@anne boleyn that's why you got decapitated, right??
This is demented lol
Holy shit🤣
Gunned down at the prime of his youth. Who ever shot up his Lamborghini Countach is a sick bastard and I hope they find him/her and bring them to justice. I remember my mom playing his CDs for me in her Walkman. Life seemed to have changed after he died. RIP Malone. We love you forever.
There was a hot issue regarding his relationship with wham' before his demise on 1995
The story is that he was supposed to sing a pivotal line in “We Are the World,” but he came late and drunk to the studio taping. Quincy Jones had no choice but to give that part to a young up and coming pop singer in order to get the song cut in time for worldwide release. That pop singer’s name . . . was Michael Jackson.
So much wrong with this
@@RB725GamingHD im cracking up
:/ upcoming? U forgot that Michael & pre-Malone did a single together? It was released when MJ died i 2009
p re malone was a very good friend of michael . duh. smh
After Michael found out he was highly upset as shown in the video of them making “we are the world”

And I am glad his son Post Malone carrying his legacy.
i remember those days
95 was such a hard year......we lost Post, Selena, Easy E. RIP to them all. I still play their music for my children.

Welcome to crossing the fine line between multiverses.
This takes me back to ‘87 where I first heard the song while working at an animatronic themed pizza place. Stopped working there ever since the incident.
😂
I remember when I was a naive teenage girl back in '83. This song brought my boyfriend, Chad, and I together at a party. I'll never forget that day. We're happily married now and have 18 children. RIP Past Malone, 1980-1984.

Actually he died in 95. Commonly mistaken for his near death in the car crash in september of 94.
R.I.P post Malone 1962-1995 ,
Ah I remember listening to this song on record with my good friend chris, at the time we were 17 years old, nieve and just had our first kiss such a special year in 83' so young and having fun R.I.P to the good old days I hope we can still have more but I mean its only 1989 so in the years to come well all have full lives to live
Yeah I remember their collab well, played on the radio constantly for years

I was too young to have seen him live before he died. '95 was a tragic year. I was blessed to be raised on his music. RIP '62-'95 pre Malone.
i remember riding my bike in '87 with my headphones on. even when it was nighttime. Feeling the breeze on my face with this classic playing. Rest in peace. (1962-1995)
I was only 9 when Post died, but my mom always used to play him on the cassette player when she was doing housework. Resqueet impeaches. RIP in peace.

He died a year before I was born, but I still grew up with his music. My older siblings always loved playing his music when they babysat me!
There are certain ‘80s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
I love how the song is heard. Thank you very much.
So glad that his son.. post malone.. gave this classic hit a fresh air.. thank you pre malone
