Was finding it hard to migrate to just a local singleplayer world cuz i didnt wanna mess up the other single player saves I had. Did u find an easy way to do this?
can you explain how to do this ? because After transferring my coop world to a dedicated server world. I will need to transfer it back to the coop world again after a week. hope to hear from you soon !
1 week I was looking for how to migrate my local backup to a free dedicated server.. thank you very much! I just have a small bug on the number of pals per base, it's stuck at 15 even if I change the parameters
Hey, thank you so much for the video. I have a question, will the other players (who already played in the previous local server) lose their data or will it be recovered when joining the dedicated server? Also do they need to do anything on their side? Once again thank you so much
I have seen where other players can login with no issue and other times the tool will need to be run for each player. All they need to do is try to connect and make a new character if asked to then logout so whoever has access to the server files can run the tool.
This may still work for server, but as i am editing the world on my pc.. i have the following issue. In the end you said its "coop" compatible (technically) ... So my main point of contention is the fact.. that even if i do the first step of making me host.. the programm overwrite all of that.. deletes the host character if I overwrite my friends (original host) data to be a player. Then i am confronted with Wrong ID or .. depending on the chaotic amount of steps one could do to solve it.. stuck in character creation.
Yeah, I hope they can come out with that quickly. It would save everyone headaches trying to find workarounds. But until then this has been a nice solution if it works for you. Just make sure to make a backup in case it causes issues for you.
I think it doesn't work anymore... I'm in october 13rd and the latest release of the tool is from feb 3rd and is crashing when i try to load the Level.sav... :'(
My problem is this: My friend who was hosting the server locally wasn't playing much these days so I couldn't play either, so I had him transfer his save file to me, that also means I replaced my own world with his world, and even though my character's save exists within that save file, I am now playing as his character instead of mine, how do I become my character again?
You would want to run this tool on level.sav of the world you want then choose your character file as the top option then your friends character as the bottom option
I would effectively be overwriting his character. If you want him to be able to keep his data he would first need to connect to the world when you are hosting it and then you would run the tool to merge his old character with his new one. Then you could login and it should have to make a new character and you could merge yours onto that new one.
So my friends are able to load in normally, but when I do I am prompted to make a new character. Also when I open the github app and select the file in the server it does not work for me it just closes.
I have a world where me and two of my friend play together. Bt now py pc cant handle the load. So is it possible to transfer our progress to a friends world? Please help.
The tool isnt showing my old player files. Got any idea why? Also my whole world seems to be gone. There are no houses or anything anymore but my map is still saved from what I explored
With the new problem of the computer thinking it is a virus, is there a way to force your PC to run the software? I am trying to start a new server and every time I try to launch the program it gets auto-closed by my PC and I have tried everything to get it to run just so it can fix the players.
nice video, mate! Do you know if is it possible to move data from an official server for a private one? An official tool, or something like that... I want to create my own private server, but lost everything that I had at lvl 48 it's kinda annoying
Thank you and excuse me for the question but, wanting to just get the co-op data from a pc to another, thus resulting logging in from the 2nd pc as the character A from the 1st pc (we don't want that) should we use this save fix program to migrate the saves from one another so that it recognises the character B from the second pc as the host now, or is there a faster solution to just change the host being the character B so that the character A can now log in having his progress?

Hi I used the tool and followed the instructions of the video. When it finishes migrating the tool closes and when I boot the server and log on I still need to create a new character
You will want to check a couple things. If this is on a server host make sure you are deleting the world folder from the server before putting the world folder you ran the tool on back onto the server. If this is a corrupted character issue the tool with not fix that issue.
Thank you for this. I been trying to go from co-op to dedicated server. At 1:26 you said to open the dedicated server files, but then at 1:48 it jumps with a folder thats opened. What exactly did you open, the co-op folder or the dedicated server folder? I dont see a WorldOption in my dedicated server but I do see one in the co-op. However im asking because right before 1:48 you were talking about the dedicated server so im a bit confused. TY.
I was showing the different ways to get to the world save folder. At 1:26 I am showing a file browser on a dedicated host server provider. At 1:48 I am showing the opening of the co-op folder that was opened by following these instructions at 0:38. Sorry if that is confusing
From the looks of it, the script only works when your character gets a new UID right? Basically it replaces the newly created one with the old one? In my case, when my friend creates his character again his preexisting save is just being written over :( Anyone had a case like this?
I have seen that. If it is just overwriting the character file, some people have been able to get around it by dragging the old character file into the players folder after making a new character.
@@PhyrexTechs i did try that but unfortunately that didnt work out. Funny also that it only seemed to „corrupt“ the save of one of my friend. I ended up restoring from a backup I did 2 days before and there he was able to log in again
man i need help, i literally moved everything over exactly but the buildings aren't there and the new characters aren't showing up in the save folder, I've created a new character twice and reuploaded all the files and still nothing is changing on my new server

@@irvinrrix8022 If it is prompting you to overwrite, that means the new player file and the old player file have the same code and this is an issue. I have only seen this when another fix like xNuls has been tried or something has been corrupted. The only way I know of to fix this is to use an older copy of a save if you have one.
@@PhyrexTechs hello, i also tried xNuls method but it also requires different player codes. Unfortunately, I don't have an older copy of a save since dedicated servers don't auto backup
This is specifically to fix the issue that happens when moving a co-op or multiplayer world. As far as I know you cannot move characters between worlds at least not with this tool.
Awesome video, thank you! Quick question: I did everything in the video successfully, but now when I try to change server settings in the LinuxServer folder, its not applying to the game. Same with when I try to change settings in the Shockbyte control panel. Any suggestions?
Not sure how Shockbyte has their servers setup. You could just double check to make sure that there are not any other config files that the server is using instead of the normal ones.
@@PhyrexTechs with shockbyte, I'm able to access all my server files through FileZilla. I went in there and tried to change my PalWorldSettings file and for some reason, they didn't actually apply to the server. Still trying a few things, but thank you for your response!
@@PhyrexTechs yeah I tried that too. None of it is working. Best solution I found was to port it back over to a private server, change what I wanted to change, save a back up, and transfer it back to the dedicated server. It’s not the cleanest approach but it’s what I can do for now!
I doubt you are doing anything wrong. Palworld save files are not set up the best and if they had an official save transfer it would make it a lot easier. The tool is still new and will not work all the time. Thanks for the compliment on the video!
So I did this and everything worked great last night..now tonight when I log in it takes me to creating a character again. Is that because I closed the server on steam?
after the recent updates this methos encounters an error, could it be that the proyect of this aplications is discontinued? the last version was released on february 3rd. im afraid that there is no other method to recover player progress other than this app. :( is there a discord? some kind of support?
Sorry im going insane, this tool is not working for me it keeps getting an error...Maybe is out of date? i see im a little late for this kind of thing!
I got the save files from gportal back to my dedicated server, got the world save but after the toolfix transfer it still doesnt migrate my levels to the new character (even though the tool ran succesfully)
So after you run the tool, is it asking you to make another character or does it just log you back into the new character you made before running the tool.
So quick question, my friend has a coop save with me and we want to put it onto a hosted server (gportal), so we need to make the server on gportal run it once, then put in our 'old' savegame where it should go on the servers directory copy the name and change the dedicatedservername thing, try to connect and if we get a new character issue we run the fix tool? Does it also affect who hosts it even if we both have access to the gportal server hub?
When you try to connect after doing everything you said, if it asks you to create a character go ahead and make on. Then log out close the server and download/move server save folder back to your computer and run the tool targeting the level.sav file for that and it should work for the host also. It should not matter how many people have access to the gportal server.
Trying to do the reverse and trying to pull off my character from a dedicated server to a single player server so I can keep all my work as my friends have stopped playing and having a hard time grasping how to path the save information I have into a single player world?
Hmm, I have not done it myself but you should be able to just go to one of the single player world folders delete everything in there(back it up first if you care about it) and drag everything from the multiply player server folder into it. If it has you make a new character when you try to join it you can try this tool.
I dont know why but after I used that tool I couldnt access nitrado dashboard anymore. After I remevoed the folder where the tool was used in, all worked again. Seems like Nitrado is somehow blocking whatever this tool does
What the application does: Merges old character save file to new character file. Converts the level.sav file to json so it can then edit the character information and clean up any duplicate guilds that were created by having to make that 2nd character. Then converts it back to the level.sav Nothing crazy enough to affect Nitrados dashboard. Just did a quick search on Twitter and there are some people upset they could not use the website around the same time you were having issues. twitter.com/TB_Trucking/status/1753340462008508656 So I think it might have just been a coincidence. Nitrado and other server hosts have been struggling with demand and keeping their servers and websites working with the demand of palworld.
@@PhyrexTechs But isnt it weird that after I deleted the folder through filezilla i could access again. I did it twice. And each time after using the tool I couldnt access the dashboard but as soon as I deleted the folder I could access again. Mega weird ^^
@@mAxx_3011 Yeah that is odd. Did you shutdown the server, download the world save file to your computer, run the tool on your system, then move the world save folder back to the Nitrado server?
@@PhyrexTechs Yes and no. I downloaded the world to my pc. run the tool. used filezilla to bring the world back to nitrado but couldnt access the dashboard nor the server. so i couldnt even start the server again. and yes i had it shut down before :/
@@mAxx_3011 The only thing I can think to try is to use their web file manager to upload the world save after running the tool to see if you have the same issue. And if you do delete the folder again from your FTP connection.

My wife is playing Palworld in my account, I created a new account for her and bought the game (again), I chose to save my files into the cloud, but I would like to transfer the player savings to the new account, but I'm not sure if those files into my windows user appdata will work considering the cloud savings... Could someone help ?
Great Tutorial. You earned yourself a subscriber. Just wondering if there's a way merge two Level.sav files. Me and my friend play in local worlds, I just got a host server and have successfully moved my stuff and player data to it but need to move atleast my friends player data if not world stuff.
I’m not good at this stuff and I use nitrado, I’ve been trying to transfer my co-op world to a dedicated server for almost four hours and it hasn’t been working any advice?
I forget exactly how Nitrado has things setup but ill try to go off memory. So what I would do is: Start with a fresh Nitrado install, meaning uninstall the palworld server and reinstall it or do a reset of the server. Start the server up and login and make a character so it creates all the folders on the server side. Then turn the server off and delete all the files in the world folder it created, Should be located somewhere like this (Pal\Saved\SaveGames\0\ABC123....) then go to your co-up world folder(folder with random letters and numbers) and copy over all the file inside to the server world folder, so the Players folder and the level.save files. Then boot the server up and login and make new characters if it asks you to. spawn into the world run around for just a minute or so and log out and power down the server. Then download the world folder from Nitrado server to your computer(the folder with the random numbers and letters) Run the save fix tool follow the instructions of the video. When it is done delete the world folder from the Nintrado server and upload the one from your computer. This should fix it. I hope.
so is there a way for me to transfer to save file from gravel host (the dedicated server host) to my local files so I can just continue playing the world by myself? My friends dont play anymore so no need to have a dedicated server anymore
You should be able to do that by just copying the save data into your local save folder. If you have any issues with it loading your character correctly you can try this tool to see if it fixes it.
@@PhyrexTechsscratch my original comment. It was asking if I wanted to overwrite the .sav files so I had to type y to proceed... Now I get another error and the process fails and the program closes itself. It says Fixed player guide! Then During exporting JSON files It fails and said something like "failed to execute script gui due to unhandled exception"
If it is asking if you want to overwrite then it is not finding 2 separate character files and that will cause an issue. The only time I have seen this is if the other Save-Host-Fix has been tried as that would have combined the character files already. Or for some reason the character file was not created.
@@michaelbassett6829 Looks like the tool creator released a new version that should fix that issue github.com/JannikBirn/palworld-host-save-fix/issues/12 Can be downloaded here 0.1.2 github.com/JannikBirn/palworld-host-save-fix/releases
Before I successfully restored my character, my friends were able to use their players from the co-op save, but now I can use my co-op character, but they are forced to open a new character and stick to it. I did try to repeat the same process on their characters, but the tool says something failed in the last message. Help please.
I have seen an issue where for some reason when players join and make a new character it creates a new file but also deletes the old one. Compare the files in the current Players folder after people have made new characters to your Players folder in your back up save and see if there are player files missing. If so drag them over from the backup to the current Player folder and run the tool again for the other players.
This video works great up until the new character issue. I do that part but then when I use the tool, my "new char" doesn't show up in the list and it only shows my char from the previous GUID. Any reason why it wouldn't show up?
If you compare the Players folder now after making a character with the Players folder of your backup do you see any files missing or that have been replaced?
@@PhyrexTechs so I figured it out! I had to run the server once by itself without moving my server data over, it created a directory that says "0" and I had to throw my save files in there. After that, it saw my new character and the tool worked! Thanks for your help.
the "pal" folder got no "saved" in it, only binaries content and plugin, i cant find any "saved" folder related to the game, even if i browse local files from steam
Is this on the new server/world you are trying to move to? If so you may need to run the server once to make the folders. If this is your old world you are trying to move, What kind of server was it? Co-op?
No longer working as of latest patch. worked before for myself and one other player in server. Today another returning player joined and I tried to merge and kept getting an error that the process failed due to unhandled exception
Not sure I've done it a few days ago no problem. Now when I try to add another returning player the command window states that this profile already exists etc then tells me to type y/n to continue in the command window and then proceeds to fail. I didn't notice the fail originally and when restarting the server with the "failed" file it actually made EVERYONE recreate a new character. It didn't just affect the one player that I was attempting to merge. The world data remained intact as all bases were still there. @@PhyrexTechs
That's odd. It sounds like that players character file could have been corrupted and because the game could not load it, they were forced to make a new character. Then it did not give them a new character file and just replaced the old one, so it could not be merged. Not for sure that is what happened but I have seen that before. Only thing you can try is to load a backup before you ran the tool the most recent time.
Sorry if this has been answered already. But will this character creation fix work if I try to keep the same server host after experiencing the character creation issue? Or does that step only work on those who wish to transfer their saves to new server hosts? My friends and I had a server crash (shockbyte) and when we loaded back up it forced us to make new characters. We can see our saves in the FTP but cant get it to load when we start. Some help with this would be amazing.
I do no think it can fix that issue. Because I think when that happens the character files get corrupted. If you have any backups you will want to try to restore from there.
Thank you for responding! I've tried a few methods of restoring from the local files. But honestly im not super familiar with filezilla or FTP to know the right methods of restoring. I'll do my best though. @@PhyrexTechs
Hey, I've been scratching my head for hours trying to fix the character save issue. I followed your tutorial to the letter: When i created the new world it had the map data from the save but had to create a new char. So I did, downloaded the folder from the server, ran the tool and everything was working fine, then when I re uploaded the new folder and ran the server, it asked me to create a new character again! I checked the players folder, after the first creation a new file appeared, but after the second creation there wasn't a new file. Im using low.ms as host and migrating from co-op to dedicated. One thing i read was that pal viewing cages don't work on dedi servers and we had one in our co-op world, could that be the reason nothing is working? The map data is always there relative to my old character but everything else is gone (including buildings) Im so lost and at my wits end, is there something I'm missing ?
Sometimes I have found deleting files before replacing them helps. So if you have your backup save available, what I would do is Turn off the server Go to the server host and delete all world folders (folders with level.sav in it). Take your backup and upload it to the host. Turn on the server Look at the players folder and take notes how many files there are Try to login to the game world and create a character if asked. Check the players folder again to make sure a new file was created and no old files were overwritten. If so power the server off and download the whole world file to your computer Run the tool like in the video on the download folder Back on the host delete the world save folder again then reupload it with the fixed version Turn the server on and try to login Hopefully that helps if not I'm not sure what would be causing the issue.
Im pretty sure I exactly did that yesterday and it didnt't work, only thing I did differently today was delete the localdata.sav file and it seems to have worked. Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer to all these comments you're a king!!@@PhyrexTechs
My friend hosted the server on his pc and then he sent me a file with random numbers and characters. When I host, only I can access the server (the character remains the same) and other friends who have played that server before cannot connect. Is there any way to solve it?
Hi i can't find the level 0 character i created after shutting down the server. but is sure do i can see the old player account, only the new character is i can't see, please help.
Make sure after you make the new character. A new file is created in the Players folder. Then shut down the server and download the world folder from the server and run the tool on it.
I'm having an issue with transferring my friends' character save. Mine worked fine, the map reset but no biggie, however when I try to do it with my friends character when I click on the two characters (the one to migrate and the lvl. 0 to overwrite) right after I click the "migrate" button it closes and doesn't migrate the character. Any idea on how to go about this?
Other people have reported issues like this. The only way I have found that can sometimes work is to: Take your backup you made before running the tool for the first time and do the whole process again however transfer your fiends character first then yours.

Was finding it hard to migrate to just a local singleplayer world cuz i didnt wanna mess up the other single player saves I had. Did u find an easy way to do this?
can you explain how to do this ? because After transferring my coop world to a dedicated server world. I will need to transfer it back to the coop world again after a week. hope to hear from you soon !
works like a charm
Great to hear!
THANK YOU SO MUCH IT WORKED
You're welcome!
Thank you for this great tutorial! :)
You're very welcome!
Worked perfectly, thank you.
Great to hear!
works great, thx a lot for this tutorial and the link! :)
Glad to help!
In my case. It just close and doent work...
same for me like every programm that open that file always the message "exception: unkown type: ByteProperty (.SaveParameter.Level)
Worked perfectly thanks!

Thank you very much bro!! It worked very well. Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad it helped
1 week I was looking for how to migrate my local backup to a free dedicated server.. thank you very much!
I just have a small bug on the number of pals per base, it's stuck at 15 even if I change the parameters
Glad I could help! Hmm, yeah I'm not sure why that parameter would not be changed.
I see, thank you so much for your insight!@@PhyrexTechs
This may still work for server, but as i am editing the world on my pc.. i have the following issue. In the end you said its "coop" compatible (technically) ... So my main point of contention is the fact.. that even if i do the first step of making me host.. the programm overwrite all of that.. deletes the host character if I overwrite my friends (original host) data to be a player.
Then i am confronted with Wrong ID or .. depending on the chaotic amount of steps one could do to solve it.. stuck in character creation.
thanks dude !
Happy to help!
Trying to wait for the official transfer function is such a pain, might try this 1st
same for me. HELP

Hey man great video. I have one quesstion though, is there a way to do kinda the same think but if you are playing palworld through Xbox GamePass?
Yes you can use this tool to extract your save files from GamePass. github.com/Z1ni/XGP-save-extractor
hey! is there any way to solve this issue with the character saves? the tool doesn't seem to be working for me :(

@@PhyrexTechs would it get rid of his progress? Or just remove him for me?
I would effectively be overwriting his character. If you want him to be able to keep his data he would first need to connect to the world when you are hosting it and then you would run the tool to merge his old character with his new one. Then you could login and it should have to make a new character and you could merge yours onto that new one.
So my friends are able to load in normally, but when I do I am prompted to make a new character. Also when I open the github app and select the file in the server it does not work for me it just closes.
I love you 😭
I have a world where me and two of my friend play together. Bt now py pc cant handle the load. So is it possible to transfer our progress to a friends world? Please help.
@trashsplash6781 r u facing the same problem...???
As far as I know you can only transfer the world and characters together. You cannot move some characters to a world they have not been before.
Hello IT Worked Thank you but the Whole Map was reset and had to explore again.
Glad it worked. Have not seen that issue happen before.
There's a nexus mod that can unlock the whole map for you, but you still have to pick up the fast travel point.
The tool isnt showing my old player files. Got any idea why? Also my whole world seems to be gone. There are no houses or anything anymore but my map is still saved from what I explored
Hmm, Not sure about that. When you bring over the world before running the tool was the world and houses still there?
Yeah i'm having the same issue
thank you!
You're welcome!
As far as I know the the official servers are locked down that is not possible to do.
Not sure what the best way is. You may want to look at this as another option www.reddit.com/r/Palworld/s/D2W8ueMh8j
Thx!
Any time!
Having issues with the tool, Windows wont shut up saying its a virus and a severe threat 😥😥
It's always a good idea to use caution with .exe's you download. I scanned with Hybrid Analysis with the report here: www.hybrid-analysis.com/sample/39e94bd6ee3f14949efd197ea9b60b4c61448d423d7112c9ddf601ac09a656c1
You can view in the sandbox report what files it is editing and affecting and they all seem to be related to just palworld.
Programs like this, which are made by community members who edit files on your system, will most of the time raise red flags with these virus scans. I have not seen anything that I would deem malicious.
The creator of the tool has also commented on this here: github.com/JannikBirn/palworld-host-save-fix/issues/28#issuecomment-1940746919
He does provide a way on how you could run the tool without using the .exe however, I have not done that myself and would not be able to help with that process.
I ended up restoring from a backup I did 2 days before and there he was able to log in again

man i need help, i literally moved everything over exactly but the buildings aren't there and the new characters aren't showing up in the save folder, I've created a new character twice and reuploaded all the files and still nothing is changing on my new server
this is going from a rented server to another rented server service, someone please help
Hello, what is im not the host of the server, and im trying to get the save file from a friend, a level.sav wouldnt exist since im not the host, the question is how to move from a server, to a singleplayer save file(not host)
Mine sadly did not work, it fails to compress the file back - can anyone help me with this?
Does it ever ask you to overwrite files? or does it give you an error message in the console ?
@@PhyrexTechs hello, it prompted me y/n to overwrite files and gave me an error message in the console, is there a fix for this?
@@irvinrrix8022 If it is prompting you to overwrite, that means the new player file and the old player file have the same code and this is an issue.
I have only seen this when another fix like xNuls has been tried or something has been corrupted.
The only way I know of to fix this is to use an older copy of a save if you have one.
@@PhyrexTechs hello, i also tried xNuls method but it also requires different player codes. Unfortunately, I don't have an older copy of a save since dedicated servers don't auto backup
is there a way to create a different player code?
Can you use this to bring a character to your private world? And what’s saved exactly? Pal box, base, stats, items?
Hm, yeah that is an odd one. If Shockbyte has a built in webUI file explorer. I have seen people have more success using that when just editing files.
@@PhyrexTechs yeah I tried that too. None of it is working. Best solution I found was to port it back over to a private server, change what I wanted to change, save a back up, and transfer it back to the dedicated server. It’s not the cleanest approach but it’s what I can do for now!
Yeah that is a hassle, but whatever works.
sadly doesn't seem to work anymore after the update
why host save fix doesnt work?
I messed up somehow. When I go to migrate my old save to the new account it gives me the same accounts/level.
Hmm, Have not see that before. you might want to try again from your backup.
yea i've redone the whole thing. I guess I'm not smart enough haha. good video though!@@PhyrexTechs
I doubt you are doing anything wrong. Palworld save files are not set up the best and if they had an official save transfer it would make it a lot easier. The tool is still new and will not work all the time. Thanks for the compliment on the video!
I'm trying to transfer my friends world from there PC to my PC so I can host. Can I use this to achieve the same result?
Yes it should.
thanks a lot
You are most welcome
So I did this and everything worked great last night..now tonight when I log in it takes me to creating a character again. Is that because I closed the server on steam?
Hmm, have not heard of that happening. You could try it again to see if it sticks this time.
after the recent updates this methos encounters an error, could it be that the proyect of this aplications is discontinued? the last version was released on february 3rd. im afraid that there is no other method to recover player progress other than this app. :( is there a discord? some kind of support?
Sorry im going insane, this tool is not working for me it keeps getting an error...Maybe is out of date? i see im a little late for this kind of thing!
When i run the tool, it shows the new characters i make but does not show my old ones with all the progress. what am i doing wrong?
Make sure that your running the tool on the old world file and make sure that your old character files are showing up in the Players folder.
Mine is stuck at migrating blah blah for 2hours is it normal
Trying to do the reverse and trying to pull off my character from a dedicated server to a single player server so I can keep all my work as my friends have stopped playing and having a hard time grasping how to path the save information I have into a single player world?
Hmm, I have not done it myself but you should be able to just go to one of the single player world folders delete everything in there(back it up first if you care about it) and drag everything from the multiply player server folder into it. If it has you make a new character when you try to join it you can try this tool.
Hey man did u manage to figure it out? Im tryna do this before my server bills me again in 2 Days lol
I dont know why but after I used that tool I couldnt access nitrado dashboard anymore. After I remevoed the folder where the tool was used in, all worked again. Seems like Nitrado is somehow blocking whatever this tool does
What the application does:
Merges old character save file to new character file.
Converts the level.sav file to json so it can then edit the character information and clean up any duplicate guilds that were created by having to make that 2nd character.
Then converts it back to the level.sav
Nothing crazy enough to affect Nitrados dashboard.
Just did a quick search on Twitter and there are some people upset they could not use the website around the same time you were having issues.
twitter.com/TB_Trucking/status/1753340462008508656
So I think it might have just been a coincidence.
And if you do delete the folder again from your FTP connection.
is there a way to put a single player character into someone else's server?
Not that I know of yet.
Any ideas why this isn't working for me? I made a dedicated server just to test and now when I follow all these steps it just keeps opening up the test one I made even when I delete the local files.
Make sure you are changing the DedicatedServerName in GameUserSettings to point to the correct save folder you are using.
My wife is playing Palworld in my account, I created a new account for her and bought the game (again), I chose to save my files into the cloud, but I would like to transfer the player savings to the new account, but I'm not sure if those files into my windows user appdata will work considering the cloud savings... Could someone help ?
That should work. The cloud saving syncs with what files you have on your computer. So the files on the computer should be the same on the cloud.
If you can figure this out then the devs don’t have an excuse.
Yeah, they really need to make this a priority. It would save people a lot of time.
So what I would do is:
Start with a fresh Nitrado install, meaning uninstall the palworld server and reinstall it or do a reset of the server.
Start the server up and login and make a character so it creates all the folders on the server side.
Then turn the server off and delete all the files in the world folder it created, Should be located somewhere like this (Pal\Saved\SaveGames\0\ABC123....)
then go to your co-up world folder(folder with random letters and numbers) and copy over all the file inside to the server world folder, so the Players folder and the level.save files.
Then boot the server up and login and make new characters if it asks you to. spawn into the world run around for just a minute or so and log out and power down the server.
Then download the world folder from Nitrado server to your computer(the folder with the random numbers and letters)
Run the save fix tool follow the instructions of the video.
When it is done delete the world folder from the Nintrado server and upload the one from your computer.
This should fix it. I hope.
@@PhyrexTechs It worked yessss!! Thank you so much man I was so close to giving up yesterday you da goat!
Awesome glad it worked!
so is there a way for me to transfer to save file from gravel host (the dedicated server host) to my local files so I can just continue playing the world by myself? My friends dont play anymore so no need to have a dedicated server anymore
You should be able to do that by just copying the save data into your local save folder. If you have any issues with it loading your character correctly you can try this tool to see if it fixes it.
I had the Migrate process hang a little less than halfway through. Been over an hour and no movement. Any suggestions?
What was the last thing written in the console window?
@@PhyrexTechsscratch my original comment. It was asking if I wanted to overwrite the .sav files so I had to type y to proceed...
Now I get another error and the process fails and the program closes itself.
It says Fixed player guide!
Then
During exporting JSON files It fails and said something like "failed to execute script gui due to unhandled exception"
If it is asking if you want to overwrite then it is not finding 2 separate character files and that will cause an issue.
The only time I have seen this is if the other Save-Host-Fix has been tried as that would have combined the character files already. Or for some reason the character file was not created.

Was this a co-op save that was moved to a dedicated server or a co-op save with just someone else hosting?
I have seen an issue where for some reason when players join and make a new character it creates a new file but also deletes the old one.
Compare the files in the current Players folder after people have made new characters to your Players folder in your back up save and see if there are player files missing. If so drag them over from the backup to the current Player folder and run the tool again for the other players.

This video works great up until the new character issue. I do that part but then when I use the tool, my "new char" doesn't show up in the list and it only shows my char from the previous GUID. Any reason why it wouldn't show up?
Can you check that when you make your new character a new file is being created in the Players folder located in the world save folder
@@PhyrexTechs So I made new char, returned to title, but I do not see another .sav file in the Players folder.

Co-op?
@@PhyrexTechs since i figured it out thank you.
No longer working as of latest patch. worked before for myself and one other player in server. Today another returning player joined and I tried to merge and kept getting an error that the process failed due to unhandled exception
It has still worked for me with the latest patch. There might be some other causes but I'm not sure what it would be.
The map data is always there relative to my old character but everything else is gone (including buildings)
Im so lost and at my wits end, is there something I'm missing ?
Sometimes I have found deleting files before replacing them helps. So if you have your backup save available, what I would do is
Turn off the server
Go to the server host and delete all world folders (folders with level.sav in it).
Take your backup and upload it to the host.
Turn on the server
Look at the players folder and take notes how many files there are
Try to login to the game world and create a character if asked.
Check the players folder again to make sure a new file was created and no old files were overwritten.
If so power the server off and download the whole world file to your computer
Run the tool like in the video on the download folder
Back on the host delete the world save folder again then reupload it with the fixed version
Turn the server on and try to login
Hopefully that helps if not I'm not sure what would be causing the issue.
Im pretty sure I exactly did that yesterday and it didnt't work, only thing I did differently today was delete the localdata.sav file and it seems to have worked. Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer to all these comments you're a king!!@@PhyrexTechs
Awesome! Glad you could figure it out.
My friend hosted the server on his pc and then he sent me a file with random numbers and characters. When I host, only I can access the server (the character remains the same) and other friends who have played that server before cannot connect. Is there any way to solve it?
When you say they cannot connect, are they getting an error when connecting?
If so have you forwarded your ports?

btw i's not a local save i'm trying to move to another hosted server from previous hosted server.
The only way I have found that can sometimes work is to:
Take your backup you made before running the tool for the first time and do the whole process again however transfer your fiends character first then yours.
Hi! So I moved to a new dedicated server. When it asked me to create a new character and spawned, my FPS was 60. But then when I migrated my save file, everywhere my migrated character go, it is 18-27 FPS. Is there a way to fix this?
Have not seen a way to fix that. Maybe try again from a backup if you have not tried that already.
