We can’t keep the deer out of our garden so we gave up on having one. We don’t have dogs that stay outside too so they would probably help to keep them out. 😄
We have always had a lot of deer here but, oddly enough, they never have bothered the garden(my rhodendron/azaleas are a different story however! lol). I always thought that was really odd! We only recently fenced the garden and frankly, it's not that much of a fence. It's more to keep my dogs IN rather than anything else. The wind beats it up regularly and rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, even the groundhogs still get in. And then there's the birds - they love to eat the green beans before they get a chance to grow, but once the beans are big enough, they do alright. I also have some destructive bears sometimes too (just last night had a huge one on my porch) so I always hope they won't go crashing through the fence & eat/destroy everything. Ya just never know what will happen in the ol' garden, so any harvest is a victory! :)
