    I’m glad they announced his GoFundMe account on the news. The more people that hear about it, the more that will donate. He’s gonna have a lifetime of medical bills from surgeries, medication’s, prosthetics, physical therapy, and so much more. Hopefully the police department will also give him money. To sue he would have to prove the cop acted negligently which can be a hard case. But if he does go that route, I hope the cops settle out of court saving him time and money that he desperately needs. I hope the best for him and his recovery. And my heart goes out to the family of the young man that was killed ❤

      The police investigated themselves and found that they did nothing wrong. He better hope his mother and father have him on their Healthcare plan still.

    I feel very sad for this young man. He definitely has a great attitude, though. I hope that he does well with his prosthetic journey. I will be going to the go fund me to do what I can to help. Even IF he has a future lawsuit, those can take years to get through. Also, they may not give him any money in a lawsuit. He's only 24 and his life has been altered in such a massive way through no fault of his own. This is devastating from my opinion. I hope that him and his loved ones receive a billion blessings. 🙏🏻 ✌🏻🫶🏻🌟
    Good luck, young man. Stay strong. 💪🏻👍🏻

    Where I live if a car is fleeing at high speed on a highway they dont chase directly behind, unless the person is immediately in the act of committing a violent felony.
    They tag it and have police following behind at normal highway speed and also positioning at various exits. Then they just send out the helicopter. You cant outrun the police radio and helicopter. This happened because the cops were chasing someone for a relatively minor crime at like 90 mph who went the wrong way up the highway. Massive wreck ensues, innocent people die. Yes, its the fault of the criminal, but research shows that if cops follow quickly behind the fleeing person, they go even faster and do even more dangerous things in their desperation to escape. If the cops back off, the fleeing person doesnt drive quite so dangerously 90% of the time.
    With the tech we have nowadays there is no reason to have high speed wrong way chases and stuff like that, unless the person being chased is a serial murderer on the way to murder someone or similar.

    God bless you! I'm glad that you are grateful for the opportunities that can help you in the coming days/month/years. That is not easy to do! It is understandable that you would have anger & frustration. And although I don't know you personally, I am proud of you! I'm sure the pain and life changes have been quite the roller coaster. My prayers are with you, and I believe God is saying that it's time to take care of yourself for a while 🙏 🤲

    Ok i understand the cop was doing his job but if the cop had remained on the sidewalk instead of stepping into the middle of the road the guy may not I've had to Swerve to keep from hitting the cop this is also why several counties States and cities have a rule about chasing fleeing vehicles stolen vehicles

    Ok, there's a big difference between driving a car and driving a motorcycle. It goes without saying that if you get in an accident while driving a motorcycle that you're probably not gonna fare too well. Now my heart goes out to him because he was doing nothing wrong, but there are certain things you want to consider before you do them, and frankly, riding a motorcycle here and there- well, you're taking a big risk. Unfortunately for him, he got burned and is now missing a leg. How many times do you have to see someone get into a life altering motorcycle accident before decide to just keep your motorcycle riding to the sand dunes? Was it worth it?

      This is misleading. The vast majority of serious or fatal motorcycle accidents are a result of very young men being unsafe on “crotch rockets” or old guys on Harley’s not wearing proper gear (or any gear). Guys who wear gear and ride safely only rarely get into accidents and when they do they tend to walk away largely unscathed. That’s the whole point of riding gear and, yknow, following safety rules specifically designed for motorcycle riding. Unfortunately the dumb young guys going 200 MPH and old dumb guys without gear contribute so heavily to the accident statistics that it misleads people like you into thinking every rider is in mortal danger. 50 feet is plenty of space to react with the brakes and I have done so myself in a situation with someone turning left in front of me, I’m guessing this kid never learned how to brake quickly and safely or was drastically exceeding the speed limit. Or he white-zoned and didn’t notice something weird happening in front of him when he should have had plenty of time to and prepared accordingly (12 seconds ahead of road condition awareness is the standard safety rule). Some people don’t belong on bikes simply because they refuse to learn and practice techniques that could save their lives or limbs in an emergency situation. I feel bad for this kid but if I saw the full video I could probably easily point out what he did wrong. And I bet dollars to donuts he wasn’t geared up.

    This is a young man with a good, sensible mind. The exact opposite of the young perpetrator! THIS is WHY we NEED more teaching of morality, meaning more OBJECTIVE morals instead of the SUBJECTIVE, do what you feel is right, so-called "morality"!! I'd say go back to the Bible ways, but so many unbelievers out there would mob me, so I'll just say go back to the days when people obeyed the law of rhe land & when police were more easily able to catch, & courts more able to correct, lawbreakers! You believers out there, you know what I mean! We have 10 Commandments, not 10 Suggestions! As for Jacob, I am sorry. I'm sorry this happened to you. It shouldn't have! There's no excuse for this teen's behaviour! If he had survived, & I were a judge, he'd have been in prison for most of his life! I applaud your courage! Please continue your persistance to live your life! Don’t give up on faith in God, if this is in your thoughts. Despite the loss of your leg, which is terrible, always remember that it could have been worse. That's God's work, He preserved your life, & I praise Him for that! Jacob, keep on truckin', as we said in my younger years!

      The police department will be held liable for the chase that caused the accident and the officer firing his weapon. The state will end up paying more than likely. And, this kid needs help now, not years from now. Gofundme is a blessing and has helped me in the past. It's definitely not a scam. Obviously, that is a comment from someone who wouldn't consider donating or helping someone else, anyway.

    • @heathermcfarland6317
      @heathermcfarland6317 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Lawsuits take time and he needs the money now. In this case, they would have to prove the officer acted negligently. They might even have to wait until the police finish their investigation, because if they find the officer was negligent and that’s what caused Jacob‘s accident, they may offer a settlement to keep it out of court. If it’s enough money, that would be the best case scenario because you don’t have to worry about lawyer and court fees. But in his case, he’s gonna have a lifetime of medical bills, and God knows how much that will cost. He needs the money now to cover surgery, medication, prosthetics, and so much more. A GoFundMe account is his best option.

      That kid made a choice. He's old enough to understand right from wrong. He knew what he was doing was wrong. The consequence unfortunately for him was death. Please don't make excuses for those making bad life choices, and having to deal with their own consequence. Yes it's a sad and unnecessary incident for everyone involved, but education starts at home. Parents need to raise their kids with consequence when they misbehave, otherwise how will they learn?

      I was kind of wondering if maybe steroids did that to him, he was in hospital for months and certain steroids will make a person's weight balloon. Happened to my guitar teacher, he got a respiratory infection and they gave him steroids and he went from 180 lbs to over 350lbs. It eventually killed him too. Steroids are dangerous, even the ones the doctor gives out
