Is kinda funny for the Release of Pokemon X and Y you can have Three Starters for the game and it still easy. Like you have the Kalos starter, Kanto Starter and Torchic from Mystery gift.
In Pokemon X&Y, you can have a team of Venusaur, Blaziken, Greninja, Steelix, Lucario, and Haxorus all legitimately. How GF expected anyone to have any semblance of a challenge is beyond me.

@@theamazingspooderman2697 I guess Gamefreak just thought that making the games have difficulty would be a bad bussiness decision. Probably because of Black and white and their sequels failing in the video game box office.
@@SkillHunterThousandManPlan with the levels equalized and putting all champions, elite 4 and gym leaders up against each other, Diantha did surprisingly well, which just proves that she has a good team and a good movepool, she's just completely underleveled for her games
Glad you’re giving at least some credit to Carbink. It was a hard carry in my Y run - it’s amazing defenses, especially with Leftovers recovery, got me out of a lot of very tight situations. Excellent support Pokémon.
I think the most annoying thing about Carbink is it feels like it's meant to evolve into Diancie, but it doesn't cause Diance is a mythical. Still better than Phione as you don't need to get the mythical first and then breed it for your friend to get the sloppy seconds, but I'd argue Manaphy being able to breed period is a lot more interesting a concept than catching a discount Diancie knowing that there's an all around better version locked behind events. Though frankly I always hated how they handled mythicals, but Gen 6 really is the worst because I don't think it's possible to get any of them today legitimately. Pokemon Legends Arceus made Manaphy and Pione available, as well as the Gen 4 events, and BD/SP gives you unlimited Mew and Jirachi. You can get Celebi if you have VC Pokemon Crystal, and while Gen 5 had Victini, Meloetta and Keldeo, you can get Keldeo in the Crown Tundra and Meloetta in the Blueberry Academy. So that just leaves Victini. THough maybe Pokemon Legends Kalos will give us the remaining mythicals.
@Vic_Chaos_ Mimikyu is pretty much a parody Pika clone or a meta Pika clone, in that it's a Pokemon deliberately trying to masquerade as Pikachu in the hopes of companionship, which I think is a REALLY interesting concept.
The most upsetting thing about Meowstic is how the Pokédex describes its Psychic powers as able to turn trucks into dust, and yet their Special Attack is below average for a fully evolved Psychic-type Pokémon. The Pokédex loves overhyping psychic powers. And speed. At least its Speed and support movelist are good.
Yes, the Pokedex is like that sometimes 😭, but I think there is a clear reason for all of this, Espurr is a Pokemon that in the Pokedex is said to always have to withstand its psychic powers. When it evolves, it still does that "if it doesn't hold back when it unleashes it's psychic power, it can tear apart a tanker" -female Meowstic Shield pokedex entries
My headcannon is that the player writes the pokedex entries. That's how we get stuff like pidgeot flying at mach 2, ampharos being visible from space, and william Wallace being able to shoot lightning bolts from his aft end.
Probably cause of those machine like lines under it's eyes that really feel like gamefreak deliberately making the pokemon look unappealing. That was the generation where they admitted in an interview they deliberately make some pokemon ugly out of spite and Pyroar and Delphox really irritated a lot of fans cause it felt like a middle finger to us wanting half decent designs. But I still love them.
Same for Pyroar, but at least the video mostly apologizes for putting Pyroar on the list and admits it's only "bad" because gamefreak decides to pump cock with the other fire types that generation.
@@shepskydadBold of you to assume I didn’t had all 5 fire types in my Y playthrough team because I got the speed boosted torchic with the Blazikenite as an early order bonus as well Yes, yes it was a thing even before ORAS came out
As a rule I ALWAYS pick the grass starter as my sister would pick the fire starter. We just made it a thing ever since the first generation. That said, I don't recall if I used any fire types. I may have used Talonflame, but I just don't remember. I like Pyroar, but more for it's design (the way the lioness looks really appeals to me as big cats are my favorite animals), but I just made do.
No hate to it, it's just mediocre in a game where you can get a mega charizard later on and so many press to win button pokemon in the game that it's hard to stick out as another fast sweeper. Like mega lucario has removed any or all initiative to get Pyroar. Literally no reason to get it, other then a nuzlocke or its your favourite mon.
Thankfully Gen 9 came to the rescue with Ability patches. Granted they're also kind of post game, but you can make that perfect Pyroar, and without megas and with Talonflame nerfed, it can hold it's own very well. Gen 9 "Worst of the generation" will be interesting on account you can literally catch any pokemon anywhere, but the new disobey mechanics means if you catch a pokemon higher than your badge level, they will ignore you, so it's based heavily on the lowest level you can catch the pokemon. Gen 8 straight up prevents you from catching pokemon above a certain level, but according to the "Oak's challenge" run someone did, it doesn't actually stop you from obtaining most pokemon in the wild area despite that due to raids having a more varied pool.
Bro I just found this series and finished the gen 5 episode and was upset that there was gen 6 yet. And bam you come out of no where. Perfect timing keep it up.
I find it funny because if male Meowstic had Prankster as one of his regular abilities and not be his hidden abilities, it wouldn't have made it in this list, the female would though. In the long run, Male Meowstic with prankster is the better pokemon due to it's support abilities, thunder wave, both screens, fake out. Just to name a few. Although now that i think about it, Klefki also exists and also gets prankster, and has a better type, so i guess male Meowstic would still make it in the list lol.
9:42 ok but the context of "plusle hits harder than meowstic" really messed me up. I used Meowstic and it was pretty solid, and you're telling me PLUSLE would have done more damage? My life is a lie Shocked that my nemesis Aurorus isn't on here, and Carbink was definitely a surprise. I think I'm gonna play XY again soon and use Vivillon and Carbink to see how they work for me, you've got me curious now. but wow i knew dedenne was useless but you almost made me feel bad for it. Pikaclones are too bad too often 😭
I actually tried out Aurorus for a while because of your recommendation! But at the end of the day it hit like a truck with Refrigerate (even before evolving) and you don't have to worry about random coverage moves hitting you for super effective like you would in competitive. NPCs just aren't that good lol.
@@shepskydad In that case we're gonna go with the excuse that my Aurorus was just cursed, and it had nothing at all to do with me just sucking 💀 Maybe I'll try Aurorus again if I do that XY run.
@@yukiizuraAurorus is one of my favorite Pokémon and I would still call it cursed. Sure it’s an impressive powerhouse but I had to switch her for Dragalge because half the time she would faint before getting any decent damage out because Ice/Rock is a terrible defensive combination.
I literally searched ‘shepskydad worst gen 6’ YESTERDAY to see if you had made one yet, after bingeing the whole rest of this series in one afternoon. I haven’t even played these games yet, so all I really know about Pokemon is the designs I’ve seen and what I’ve experienced learning through Showdown. I always find your videos the most accessible for newcomers even if most of this isn’t useful to me on Showdown-so many of those videos go way too in depth with things I just don’t understand yet and I don’t take much away from them. Gen 6 and 7 games are my favorites to watch playthroughs of and have my favorite art style and designs in general, so I’m so excited this one’s finally here. Can’t wait for Gen 7!
Don't let the fact that XY are very generous and have easy major fights distract you from the fact that it has some _nasty_ random trainers. Don't think nuzlocking it is gonna be a piece of cake. ..or at least that's what I've heard, 'cause I still haven't played XY at all. 😅 EDIT: 9:23 NOOO MY FAVOURITE! q_q
I like seeing all the love my boi carbink got. Yeah I know everything else that isnt one of the two defenses sucks. That is why i love him. He is such a silly little guy. Also running a bodypress with one of the defense increase moves is a very powerful addition as it can give him a reliable high level of damage
I fully agree with your assessment of X and Y at the start of this video. To me they felt disappointingly easy, to the degree that I didn't feel any great desire to revisit them.
8:47 I play with a no repeat Pokémon rule so for a fire type I did use pyroar for a X play through, it’s definitely alright but underwhelming compared to the other fire types
"I fixed the tooth" - Like I've seen about 4 videos so far from you and it IMMEDIATELY stuck out to me, so for long time fans of your channel I thank them for their patience 😂
I don't get why Diggersby has Huge Power as a hidden ability when it's soo crummy without it, like other Huge Power pokemon don't have it as a hidden ability
Given the nature of balance that generation, I don't think they actually started THINKING about what they were doing until Gen 8 (where at least ALL pokemon can dynamax, so it's not a matter of the pokemon themselves being unbalanced), and Gen 9 where htey removed moves to help reign in the power creep. At least it's not like Delibird who literally has the exact same ability twice over. both preventing sleep, but yeah...the favoritism with Mega evolution really begged the question "What's even the point of using half these pokemon...?"
I honestly think Carbink was supposed to be like Riolu and Evolve into Diancie; but then someone messed up somewhere. Like why is the only gen 6 mon to Mega Evolve a mythical _fairy_ type ,that practically no one can get; and it goes from being a wall to somewhat offensive. And also I wouldn't be surprised if gen 6 was super rushed and unfinished - a lot of the other Pokemon that came out in the later generations look like they belong in Kalos.
At least Gen 8/9 (whichever one it's in) gives it the Ability patch. and after seeing what Belly Drum Azumarill can do to raid bosses...it has something going for it. Can it learn Belly drum? Edit, no but it's Gen 8 only so it doesn't matter. can't do raid set ups cause Gen 8's raid battles were.....what even was that mess....?
I understand the struggle with Meowstic M but I finished my first Pokemon Y run with Meowstic F this year and she was my favourite team member by far xd solo'd Diantha with her, too! It's sad you cant use Meowstic that well in Gen 6 but prankster charm Meowstic M is a menace in online doubles xd
I love Meowstic. It's concept was amazing, and it looked super powerful in the anime. Additionally, the way it was described in the Pokedex got my hopes up. Also, great shiny. I was super disappointed to see it's total base stat 466. Not even in the 500’s!
How they managed to hype up and give so much focus to Espurr only to give its evo a lower bst than _Hypno_ is beyond me. Even fellow Kalos Psychic type Malamar at least gets within a single stat point of that bar. 20 bst might not seem like much, but for these mons that's the difference between their current 83 base Sp. Atk and a hypothetical 103 base Sp. Atk. A difference as clear as day. And honestly, with the first route encounter Talonflame getting 499 bst and random Water mon Barbaracle getting 500 bst, I wouldn't have batted an eye at Meowstic getting as much as 500 bst.
You can also pick up an Aerodactyl in Glittering Cave by smashing Rock Smash rocks after you oust Team Flare. This means you can have a full team without ever catching anything. I personally love having a good variety of Pokemon available early on and think it's one of the best changes in recent gens, but it does have a tendency to overshadow new Pokemon. XY were the growing pains, so GF could pull it off in the 3 gens since.
Nah. The issue here is not that we have a good variety of mons early, is that most people dont have the insentive to use new mons unlike say Galar or Paldea, where all have something specialy about each. And the fact megaevolution cant be used with the pokemon from its generation didnt helped....at all Like on the top of my mind only aromateese, Vivillion, Heliolisk, Aegislash, Talonflame, Slurpuff, and Gourgeist have something interesting to offer
Can't wait to see you use a Pyukumuku. I played through Shield only using a Pyukumuku, Pincurchin and both forms of Corsola. It was extremely interesting to say the least.
Hidden Abilities were cool at first but they also bring up an ugly truth of gatekeeping a Pokemon's potential for the main game like in Diggersby's case. There are several that would be nice to use if you had access to the HA but you just can't get it before post game in the majority of cases. My personal case for this scenario is Lokix in S/V. Love the little Kamen Rider bug but not having access to Tinted Lens just made it very underwhelming to use. Well, unless you grind up the Tera Raids for a chance to get it and I simply did not bother with the Tera Raids in my playthrough.
Yeah, why aren't they available in the main story more often? As far as I know, the only times that Hidden abilities had near universal availability during the main story were Gen 7 due to appearing in SOS chains (which nearly all Pokémon can do, and the ones that can't are either legendary encounters, or are a special SOS encounter themselves (and can therefore still be obtained with their hidden ability)), and during ORAS due to the Dex Nav.
B2/W2 had a few methods of getting hidden ability pokemon. There were the in-game hidden grottoes and Pokemon Dream Radar, a separate app from the 3ds Eshop. This last one might be a fever dream on my part, but I remember using the C-gear at the time to upload a pokemon to a website where i could find hidden ability pokemon and bring them back into the game.
Yeah depends on your starter choice, and really when the only other option is Talonflame and Pyroar is a special fire type, it's competition isn't even that stiff. I guess it's more "Just cause it's the worst, doesn't mean Torkoal isn't still OU tier" like he implied in one of the intros. Just means they're all just solid relative to each other and someone has to be the least...solid relative.
I did use female Meowstic (Named English Tea) in a Pokémon Y Nuzlocke and she made my final team mainly because of her move set options. I actually choose her over my Delphox (Named Cinnamon Roll) because I was concerned the fire weaknesses could be her death. Either way I won the game and Meowstic survived.
I actually had Dedenne on my main team and I got a LOT of good use out of it on the competitive scene for one hilarious reason: the Fairy type was new to this generation so a lot of casual opponents just straight-up forgot Dedenne was part Fairy. Meaning I'd often get a free turn against Dark, Dragon, or Fighting type Pokémon.
Finally, an Avalugg W! I see too many people crapping on it for being a bulky ice type, when it’s arguably one of the best at its job. My only critique is that no NPC trainers have a properly optimized Avalugg; Sturdy & Mirror Coat are all you need to turn it from just a physical tank into an Uno Reverse card (yes, it’s a hidden ability, but they’ve been much more generous with those for NPCs the past few gens).
Pyroar was an incredible counter for Mega Gengar when X and Y first released because a lot of people didn't seem to know it was Normal lol A similar thing happened for me in Gen 5 when for a long while my opponents had no idea Manectric got access to flamethrower
While it's not great competitively, as far as in game play against the AI goes it's easy enough to avoid using it in unfavorable match ups, and especially after reaching Anistar City, Refrigerate boosted Hyper Beams can hit like a truck, and when playing shift style you can just switch out of the recharge turn. Not to mention anything with Ancient Power can turn into an absolute beast when you can just save before key battles and keep resetting until you trigger the omni boost.
Tbh competitive aside, Aurorus is a very solid mon. Has an interesting niche with refrigerate and rock and ice hit A LOT of things supereffectively after you get it
Onix traumatized me so much i never gave avalugg a try. Never realized its stats were actually much better. The issue with Carbink is that status moves scale with game difficulty, why use carbink and think when you can click mega evolution on your charizard or lucario and click a move with eyes closed
Okay I get why Pyroar is here, but she wasn't the worst when I did a Fire Mono Run of Y. In fact she and Delphox (the MVP) covered each other's weaknesses.
It's been really fascinating seeing these videos and taking in the broader context behind what can make a Pokemon good or 'bad'. Sometimes they do have slow starts along the way. I'm honestly a little surprised Aurorus isn't on the list. I used one when I played X for the first time and unless someone is complimenting the design, I will not hear a good word said about it. Okay, its type combination is pretty solid offensively and it did get Freeze Dry, but... -It's a Special attacker and thus gets basically no Rock moves to work with (Only Ancient Power) -The amount of Special Normal moves it can use with Refrigerate is really limited -It doesn't quite seem to be strong enough to KO anything despite base 99 Sp.ATK (mine had a Gentle nature so it wasn't losing out on power) -Its HP and reasonable defenses don't save it because Rock/Ice has been rated as the WORST defensive combination -Slow as a wet week It frequently let me down whenever I used it; to get any sort of mileage I had to resort to Refrigerate Hyper Beam and that wasn't always enough. Tyrantrum's defensive combination isn't fantastic, but it at least KOd things and looked just as cool into the bargain.
Was gonna question why meowstic was on here given my experience in XY with mine doing some heavy lifting during my playthrough, but then I remembered that mine was female.
Noivern and Dragalage have no business evolving so late just because they're dragon types. Remember, Noivern's stats are identical to Crobat aside from being and weaker attack and having higher special attack. Meaning you could either get a Noibat waiting until after the 7th gym and the whole team flare plot in Terminus Cave or Victory Road and level it up for a few levels just to be quad weak to the last gym leader, resisted by one E4, mutually effective against another (but at least resist 2 E4 membe- oh wait literally every single one of Siebold's pokémon has anti-Noivern coverage) and get roasted by Diantha's ace, or get a Zubat in connecting cave after the first gym and have a Crobat at like level 25 for 6 more gyms, all of the team flare plot and who knows what which at least helps in Korrina's, Ramos' and Valerie's gyms before meeting a similar fate to Noivern. Not to mention you won't have to super train the Crobat as much since it'll get EVs naturally over the longer span. Even worse in gen 7 where you can find Zubat and Noibat on the first island where you'll have to drag the Noibat around for all the story, and when you get the Noivern, you likely have the mutually SE Kommo-O (with omniboost), Ultra Necrozma and the brutal counter Ribombee (with two omniboosts) before the league. Just... GF, please stop having pokémon evolve super late and being super weak before that, it sucks if you only get them super late in-story and it sucks having to lug around a complete burden for 3/4 of the story. Do it like Magikarp where while you have a super weak pokémon available early with a slow levelling group, at least the pain stops at level 20.
I remember draging around a noibat all throughout my Ultra moon playthrough, poor guy was a dead weight for most of the game and even after evolvong I don't really remember him having too many uses.
Truth be told, I feel like Avalugg is the ONLY Pokemon that can really succeed from being a defensive Ice-Type...and that's mainly just because its defenses are so good, it'd be busted if it was any other type. I use it in Gen 9 OU, and you'd be surprised how many supereffective physical hits this thing can take before finally going down -- especially with Snow up. Shame GameFreak in all their bountiful mercy decided to give Hisuian Avalugg quite possibly the worst type combo in the game, taking away its ability to eat STAB Close Combats and Iron Heads for breakfast, but whatever. I can only hope Ice gains a resistance to Electric someday like it should've had all along.
It really takes using it to understand how good the bulk is. I lived a High Jump Kick from Medicham with ease and I was absolutely shocked. Big iceberg boi deserves credit.

And i love how you go through different types too :) I just found this channel and im definitely going to be binge watching and turn on the notif bell
Imo Pyroars biggest issue isn't its competition but is the " Litleo " phase, Pyroar doesn't evolve until level 35 which isn't until AFTER the 4th gym where you'll be stuck with Litleos pathetic stats, it also doesn't help that the majority of Litleos movepool is physical ( seriously Litleos ONLY special stab moves are ember and echoed voice ) meaning that you're stuck setting up 2 or 3 work ups just to " sweep " with this thing, and good luck surviving the setp up process long enough with Litleos paper thin " bulk ", yeah when you get to Pyroar its gets better but before then ? Good luck leveling this thing up, because you're getting ko'd by everything
I dont know why but i have an irrational hatred of litleo, like even its cry is rage inducing. I have no problem with pyroar but just something about its pre evo.
The only thing I hate about Carbink is its dex entry. It's so stupid that Diancie is literally the exact same Pokemon but they didn't want to just make a super rare 1/8000 variant, they instead made it a legendary. So we didn't even get 72 new Pokemon, we got 71.
Noivern is my favourite Pokemon but I will admit only getting noibat in terminous cave is c r I m I n a l. Like honestly I feel like you should be able to get it in zubat passage and glittering cave as well. Even though he is still very useful at the end of the game it does suck you get him so late. He honestly should’ve been a pseudo cuz he looks more like a pseudo than goodra
i was just watching your other worst gen pokemon videos and I was like "I wonder if gen 6 is coming or something" then I look just to see it was posted TODAY. awesome vids.
I once did a mono normal run of XY, with the soft stipulation of no member of my team sharing a type combo in order to use the surprising amount of Normal dual-types available in Kalos. As a result, in addition to the likes of Bibarel, Staraptor, and fellow Kalosians Furfrou and Heliolisk, I did end up using Pyroar and Diggersby, so I can append a little about them both. Diggersby's damage output is incredibly underwhelming to the point that it undermines the typical role of the Route 1 Rodent™to be an earlygame crutch character of sorts. Even though it evolves before the second gym, its damage output at that point is at best on par with the rest of your unevolved team. The main thing I found it useful for was its bulk and electric immunity. Its diverse coverage isn't really a boon as much as it is basically necessary for it to function, since its supereffective hits are doing about as much as neutral hits coming from the bulk of your team. It was battling with Bibarel for Least Valuable Player by endgame, and at least Bibarel serves the earlygame crutch role better. Similar to Serperior, Diggersby is a rare case of a Pokemon that functions better in competitive than ingame, in both cases due to the necessity of its hidden ability to function at all. As for Pyroar, I'd say its biggest weakness is, pun not intended, its slow burn. Its levelup learnset is predominantly physical for a very long time (Ember is your only special move period, stab or otherwise, until Level 33). It also evolves fairly late for a 2 stage line encountered so early, all the way at 35. Granted, this is less of a problem in Kalos than it would be otherwise, given how frontloaded the exp curve is in these games (Litleo would be much worse off in, say, Johto or Sinnoh), but Litleo's pathetic stats and mismatched movepool really hinder its performance around when it actually appears. It's a lot better in late-to-endgame, where its dual stab Hyper Voice and Flamethrower along with Dark Pulse for coverage let it handle a surprising amount of threats, but by the time it would get there you'd probably have found a more favorable fire type. As a random anecdote relating to the run, did you know Heliolisk learns Surf? That gives it a surprising boon over other Electric types by having its coverage for Ground types baked in without necessitating a lucky Hidden Power roll or an underwhelming coverage move like Ice Fang.
the Luvdisc-Steelix trade before second gym is also worth mention. You have to give a Luvdisc, who is a guaranteed encounter when fishing in the same city Xddd
Wouldn’t the super training feature help out with these Pokémon’s lackluster stats? I get that this is coming off a casual play through which most likely won’t use it, but wouldn’t the Super Training feature help to offset the less desirable stats of these Pokémon?
Oh I think he was saying "There are more male pokemon opponents than female" when he said that. he wasn't saying "I prefer the male design", he was talking about the use of the Rivalry ability. XD Most of the match ups where Pyroar has an advantage are used by male trainers (The Grass, Ice, and Steel trainers all are male) and trainers all use the same gender as their own except Grimsley or in the event the pokemon is gender exclusive. I think that's still true to this day except Pokemon Masters EX where gender doesn't make any difference due to very different mechanics, so they're based on lore instead.
I loved Pyroar on my team for these games, and the way I justified it over the other fire types, was by not justifying it, I just brought them all and made my play through a 5 fire types and a Raichu run
Spoilers for the video. I can prove you point that Pyroar is still decent despite of its very tough competition. My first ever nuzlocke was on X and I lost both of my starters (Braxien and Ivysaur) before the second gym to the Furfrou double battle trainers. At the end of my run, my Pyroar named Ariel was one of my only 3 Pokémon I had left after beating the Champion. (Durant and my HM mon Delibird) I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a soft spot for the Pyroar line, but again, why pick it over the other options if you’re not doing a challenge run of some kind?

Pokemon Legends Arceus made Manaphy and Pione available, as well as the Gen 4 events, and BD/SP gives you unlimited Mew and Jirachi. You can get Celebi if you have VC Pokemon Crystal, and while Gen 5 had Victini, Meloetta and Keldeo, you can get Keldeo in the Crown Tundra and Meloetta in the Blueberry Academy. So that just leaves Victini. THough maybe Pokemon Legends Kalos will give us the remaining mythicals.
Can't wait for Gen 7 onward, where Game Freak actually starts trying with their Pikaclone.
Togedemaru didnt try though?

@@Vic_Chaos_Try saying that to their face!
Not good enough because it MUST only do damage apparently.
It also doesn't get Dazzling Gleam
pokedex entries are braindead ngl
Personally I never understood why people dislike Pyroar
Because is a low budget arcanine
Probably cause of those machine like lines under it's eyes that really feel like gamefreak deliberately making the pokemon look unappealing. That was the generation where they admitted in an interview they deliberately make some pokemon ugly out of spite and Pyroar and Delphox really irritated a lot of fans cause it felt like a middle finger to us wanting half decent designs.
But I still love them.
Its boring, very boring.
Arcanine even for a gen1 pokemon wasnt this boring to look at.
I don’t see anything wrong with Pyroar’s design. I honestly think it’s looks pretty cool!
Pyroar is my favorite Pokemon.
Arcanine is literally just a tiger dog. How is it less boring? Idk, people are bozos
My shiny male Meowstic (Bubblegum) was my favorite throughout the game even if it didnt do much.
Dedenne may be terrible, but it is definitely the cutest of the pika clones.
seeing meowstic in the thumbnail hurts my heart
Same for Pyroar, but at least the video mostly apologizes for putting Pyroar on the list and admits it's only "bad" because gamefreak decides to pump cock with the other fire types that generation.

@@shepskydadBold of you to assume I didn’t had all 5 fire types in my Y playthrough team because I got the speed boosted torchic with the Blazikenite as an early order bonus as well
Yes, yes it was a thing even before ORAS came out
As a rule I ALWAYS pick the grass starter as my sister would pick the fire starter. We just made it a thing ever since the first generation. That said, I don't recall if I used any fire types. I may have used Talonflame, but I just don't remember. I like Pyroar, but more for it's design (the way the lioness looks really appeals to me as big cats are my favorite animals), but I just made do.
The Pyroar hate is actually crazy.
Actually he's one of My favorite gen 6 Pokémon
I feel bad for Pyroar as well as it's hidden ability is really good if you make it a physical hitter compared to this.
Still horrible
We don't use the word its as a pronoun if there's an apostrophe in it. Can we please stop doing that?
Bro I just found this series and finished the gen 5 episode and was upset that there was gen 6 yet. And bam you come out of no where. Perfect timing keep it up.

The only knock I had on gen 6 was the difficulty. I loved it so much, though.
Team-wide Exp Share doesn't make a game easier, it just makes it less tedious.
My life is a lie
Shocked that my nemesis Aurorus isn't on here, and Carbink was definitely a surprise. I think I'm gonna play XY again soon and use Vivillon and Carbink to see how they work for me, you've got me curious now.

I’ve used Vivillon many times and with quiver dance it’s actually pretty good
I actually tried out Aurorus for a while because of your recommendation!
So many things attack harder than diggersby I’m starting to have hope for myself
At least Gen 8/9 (whichever one it's in) gives it the Ability patch. and after seeing what Belly Drum Azumarill can do to raid bosses...it has something going for it. Can it learn Belly drum?

And the fact megaevolution cant be used with the pokemon from its generation didnt helped....at all

Just saw this series the other day and finished the gen 5 video lol, great timing
Diggersby is also the only pokémon that can get you in trouble with a typo.
Cofagrigus has it beat though
@@Hagot428 why though? only if you cut part of it. Changing a letter by mistake isn't that devastating
I’m not sure why you said Pyro had competition because I had one throughout my entire play through
Yeah depends on your starter choice, and really when the only other option is Talonflame and Pyroar is a special fire type, it's competition isn't even that stiff. I guess it's more "Just cause it's the worst, doesn't mean Torkoal isn't still OU tier" like he implied in one of the intros. Just means they're all just solid relative to each other and someone has to be the least...solid relative.
The problem isn't all the options that the game gives you, it's that the opponents you face don't have them. Si it's easy as hell.
Not my original gen 6 team having Meowstick (F), Dedenne, and Carbink
Meowstic does NOT end with a K.
Pyroar was an incredible counter for Mega Gengar when X and Y first released because a lot of people didn't seem to know it was Normal lol
A similar thing happened for me in Gen 5 when for a long while my opponents had no idea Manectric got access to flamethrower
0:53 Diantha's Gourgheist is a NIGHTMARE if you play with exp share off, my properly leveled team got wiped by that thing like 15 times
There is no H in Gourgeist
I really thought Aurorus would appear on here. I guess not.
@@EmeralBookwise yeah, I guess I was thinking more of its competitive reputation.

I've used a carbink in Sun/Moon hardcore nuzlocke and it was a CARRY for pivoting and checking matchups
-It's a Special attacker and thus gets basically no Rock moves to work with (Only Ancient Power)
-The amount of Special Normal moves it can use with Refrigerate is really limited
-It doesn't quite seem to be strong enough to KO anything despite base 99 Sp.ATK (mine had a Gentle nature so it wasn't losing out on power)
-Its HP and reasonable defenses don't save it because Rock/Ice has been rated as the WORST defensive combination
-Slow as a wet week
It frequently let me down whenever I used it; to get any sort of mileage I had to resort to Refrigerate Hyper Beam and that wasn't always enough. Tyrantrum's defensive combination isn't fantastic, but it at least KOd things and looked just as cool into the bargain.
Was gonna question why meowstic was on here given my experience in XY with mine doing some heavy lifting during my playthrough, but then I remembered that mine was female.
Actually the exp share being used for the whole team is something that was in gen 1 games

I will not accept Pyroar slander (male design is much better than female)
So this actually was gonna be my first of ur vids. I’ll be back later hopping to gen 1
I love this series so much im trying to predict his picks for Gen 7 (one of my favourite gens) and im excited to see how much ive got right.
(Durant and my HM mon Delibird)
I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a soft spot for the Pyroar line, but again, why pick it over the other options if you’re not doing a challenge run of some kind?
Those Furfrou double battle trainers deserve a lot of credit for keeping Furfrou off the list. That's a stupid hard fight.
@@shepskydad Yeah facing two Furfrou in a double battle that early in the game is actually scary
I've never played a single Pokemon game but like watching your videos for some reason, they're easy listening and sometimes help me fall asleep.
i remember someone actually dming me to ask if i could trade them a Noibat so they could use one on their team. i hope they had fun!
