Awwww shit, I remember every time me and my family would watch a movie, me and my dad would go and play a round of the 1998 version of HOD. Because we played it all the time after a movie, we actually got pretty damn good at it. It got to a point where me and my dad made it to the final boss of the game on just 4 quarters and their was a crowd of people behind us watching. We ended up dying at the very end but it's surely a memory I won't forget.

I used to love playing these in movie theaters while waiting for the movie to start.
I was always terrible at them though.
I remember when i went to a swap meet there was an arcade there, and me and my older brother would play hotd3. I still play it.
I'm so happy to see this franchise not dead. So glad for Nintendo having motion controls to keep light gunshooters alive. Because i wanted to see more rail shooters in VR and knowing Sony they probably said no.
When I was 7 I was scared of this game (actually the house of the dead 4) but now I love this game.

Man...Hod1 was actually the most gruesome,dreadful and actually pretty difficult.for it's graphics and game mechanics it was an actual horror game

HOTD overkill was the best imo. Best setting/story Tarantino style. Best weapon upgrades & customization with the funniest dialogue. Wish we could get a unreal engine 5 remaster with that one. And even though Scarlet Dawn had the best graphics, you cant make a HOTD game without gore in it. That's like making a Mortal Kombat game without fatalities.Huge swing and a miss.
And good thing you add the magician theme

The first game is very dark and dreadful.

House of thr Dead 4 is, hands down, is my favorite HotD game. Great gameplay mechanics, amazing graphics (at it's time, and still hold up to this day), great characters (RIP James), great soundtrack, amazing story, amazing bosses, hard as hell final boss, and had some *GREAT voice acting* (Goldman is now a menace!)

I would argue that Time of Crisis has more depth poured into it.
House of the Dead amazing shooter and intense difficulty but Time of Crisis labored through the concept of different weapons, dodging, and quick time events
That said, I prefer HotD still because it is so difficult

I'm back and forth between Time Crisis and House of the Dead as my favorite light gun shooter series lol I just love those two

If they're gonna keep making sequels they should bring back curien, and why not? Hell they brought back Goldman, why not curien? He's the reason the first game is so badass, I mean come on, his voice sounds awesome and the way he looks is so Badass, the sunglasses, the trench coat, the cain, the slickback hair, now that's what I call a badass villain, that's what I wonna see in the next house of the dead game, curien back from the dead, (if they even make another sequel that is)

estos juegos valen la pena moneda por moneda, siempre era bueno tener las versiones caseras, pero preferia jugar en una sala arcade como lo dictan las sagradas escrituras, que pena que las arcades se hayan extinguido en mi region salvo por las pizzerias o cines que tienen 1 o 2 maquinas de the house of the dead listas para pasar un buen rato.

You got your wish, but they are remaking 1 and 2. It's going to be handled by the same developers currently developing the Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon Zwei remakes, Forever Entertainment
As a kid I was so scared of horror games and movies, I can't bear to take a look at the game without making my face instantly pale lol. It gave me nightmares as well.
Now that days gone by, I realized that it's just a game. But still, I was a super weak kid lol.
Games like House of the Dead and Vampire Night helped build confidence in me as a kid, especially when I played it on my own

I remember being terrified just looking at the arcade cabinet and the attract mode for house the dead one number two didn’t bother me as much but number one just had a really creepy vibe about it I’ll never forget Me and some kid beating house of the dead three at this church function one time they had activated the unlimited play mode for most the arcade games won a really good series as far as arcade games go there up there in my opinion with the initial D series

Also, there was this Nokia cellphone game of the House of the Dead, I think it was for the N-Gage and you control Thomas Rogan from a Top-down view.
Zombie Revenge also counts as a The House of the Dead game, though a spinoff and lesser known.

I wish they'd make a HOTD game with the same theme as the first two. All these modern gen zombie types look very generic. The first two were the scarier ones in terms of aesthetic in my opinion. Lose the automatics, bring back the trusty service pistols and the feel of genuine dread.
House of the Dead 2 and 3 are also on the Nintendo Wii. Oh never mind, it came later in the video. Nice video by the way.

There is place in Britain that me and family go every year and they have and arcade and they have a hole section dedicated to house of the dead they have all the 4 games and a space ready for scarlet dawn and a hotd pinball machine and G,Rogan and curein dolls and hotd mugs it’s amazing that place I love it
