Yeah, I always found it hard to square up the fact that you are basically fighting superhuman entities with enhanced strength, inhuman agility & speed, energy manipulation capabilities, and extreme resistance to blunt force trauma with some bullets and a grenade.
But hey, that’s the _”adult”_ in me talking, still a decent series regardless.
"Justice" The first Boss is one of my favourites videogame bosses ever, it's scary, looks powerfull and also has a simple but cool design.
And incredibly fast
the empress is pretty cool to me gives you this feeling that your pretty much doomed near him

Weakness means what's will truly put it down for good by attacking a specific spot. The World cannot be killed which is why PDA doesn't know what's the weakness

@@Orlkov Bullets aren't powerful enough but great bash to the head still got it. Just because it has a weak point doesn't mean puny 9mm can cut it but necessarily the most vulnerable area

@@kiloklavdi1185 actually, I think The World was jamming the analyzer. The AMS knew the weakness of Magician (bicep, forearm, quadricep and tendon) yet the analyzer couldn't make it out. My theory is The World and Magician jammed the device making analysis impossible.

The way Justice stood there and thrashed around while his weakpoint was being analyzed was terrifying.

@Jerhand Clark Fierro every boss of hotd 1 2 3 4 and others have a cooldown when they are gonna attack so they are open meaning its easy to attack them but if your not careful enough you couldve have died or lose an hp and if theres a another hard boss like the emperor (the emperor isnt that easy to kill but if theres a monster like the strength attacking you that used by the emperor)you actually need a strategy to play it or just memorize the game mechanics im telling you

That is why Magician was the best final boss out of all 4, he was the only final boss to have a true unknown weak point, one that I could never find until I saw it in G's book marked in THOTD2. All other 3 have a visible weak spot in the heart.

I like the implication that either this thing was human and just happened to find or was given massive sweatpants after transforming. That or they created this thing and decided their giant murder monster would be indecent without proper leg wear.

i just love how all the boss monsters are all named after each of the cards from the tarot deck. probably my favorite bit of the game series.
And they all are reverse versions of the Tarot deck.

Want to know what's scary about the bad end?Not just the fact that Magician can clone himself but he KNOWS he can and he knew how to do it. Meaning that Magician is highly intelligent but his ego is way too much for example:He covered his weak areas with something to prevent weak point detection from PDA but it's still vulnerable and still there which kinda means he can be a bane to new players but easy job for veterans. He's incredibly powerful against anyone that are unfortunate enough to meet him but still weak against someone that have fought him. His knowledge of cloning might be the reason of the mutants' attacks, outnumbering everyone in Europe. Mixed with his ability to fake his deaths, he's quite unstoppable but can only be defeated

Back when beating Magician was one of the biggest achievements.
The fact that you can beat the emperor pretty much easily but then get stopped by a ressurected evil villain who is literally twice as powerful as the final boss
@@morbius4296 yup, magician was way stronger and tougher than emperor. It took me nearly 10 attempts to defeat the magician and end the game.

@@morbius4296 Magician is still weak in HOD 2 (better than Emperor tho), In HOD 1 he had way more health, needed a lot more bullet damage and was way faster and his final attack he threw the fireballs upwards and you had to shoot them all down before being able to continue shooting him

You forgot one thing, the Star has 2 weaknesses, in the wounds and in the head. Because if you look at the PDA scan, The Star's head is marked with a question mark , which means that his head is also a second weakness
Could also indicate for the head being covered with a mask that can't be analyzed, after all his face under the mask is Curien's face.

Yes, I did too. For me, The World boss fight soundtrack is the best.
For Temperance, well I think he really is a giant mutated frog-human hybrid.
I personally found the music of this game a little forgettable, except for the World's theme which is an absolute banger. My favourite OST of the franchise is the first games one

I had the pleasure of playing the Special version of this game in Macau, back in 2011 or so. The fight with Justice involved driving through the tunnels with a car as you try to outrun him. Such an awesome experience.

In my opinion as well as my own play experience, having an automatic Uzi for a weapon as opposed to a semi-automatic pistol (HOTD 1& 2) or pump-action shotgun (HOTD 3) along with the “shake to reload” mechanic made this game so much easier than the previous three games.
I would call it QoL change.
My finger would get stiffed by the time I reach 3rd chapter on 1.
Shotgun, while light, is really tiring when you have to aimed it like a rifle and pump it for millionth times.
4 is good change, just squeeze and shake.

This....this is what I remember from childhood. This and the second one. Those were the only ones I ever found in the wild.
Theory:The House of the Dead 4 is a continuation from the Bad ending from House of the Dead 2 which is why James has a wound and Goldman has a red eye you can see Goldman is still a human and talks as one but the virus is starting to manifest.
James has a wound from being hit by The Star in the cutscene IIRC.

I remember playing this game with my dad at a mall arcade, we spent a long time and a lot of money (credits) to keep playing but in the end we failed at The World. Very fun to remember though

ICYDK: some players try to rack up points against Justice (1st boss) by shooting his knee during the 5 sequence chase because it slowly decreases its weak point bar but during the 5th chase once it catches you, it damages you
Also to boost accuracy above 70 for S-Rank

Gary is presumably retired or dead during the events of HOTD 4.
Harry definitely survived since as per the good ending (with Rogan from the first game), he is safe.
Kevin Silva Gary is actually still alive, I read a comic series made by SEGA in the Sonic series. Gary saved Agent G's life during a zombie car ambush

Doing this on the ps3 doesn’t compare to doing it in the arcade. The arcade version has no cross hair and the gun isn’t as responsive
Also the gun is heavy unlike console.
Were those last two bosses (where you play with G) added to the PS3 version? I don’t remember them in the arcade.
@@Gigawood That section of the game was originally a giant contraption called House of the Dead 4 Special that was only in Vegas and Japan in which you sat in a huge two screen ride vehicle that spun around with the in game camera and blew air on you when you got hit. They ported it to PS3 after most of the few existing machines either got dismantled or sold to private collectors. I think the original Japan version might still be at SEGA HQ
Somehow they both survived with no injuries when jumping off a train going in high speeds.

I remember me and my family was at a Pizza parlor when we were kids and there was a Arcade there and we were playing until Me and my cousins saw House of the Dead 4 and I was so scared that I can't even look at them play because the Graphics are pretty good backthen but Now that I look at it. Ye it doesn't scares me as much as back then it just gives me the chills
