I'm totally not biased towards Ivalice, but I like those more than the NieR raids. Mainly because I get Copied Factory 24/7 and I'm tired of seeing it lmao

This boss will be in my books as the boss who took my gear condition from ~90% to 5%. I loved this 24 man raid, definitely my favourite so far. Gg FFXIV
This guy is the reason why my first run through Orbonne ended in utter failure. My group had been wiping through the run, anyway, because no one knew the mechanics, but this guy...THIS GUY! He took MORE THAN AN HOUR to beat. By the time, we won, we had twenty minutes left in the raid, meaning only one shot at Ultima, WHICH WE LOST. Seriously, this guy is brutal.
At this point you just kinda say in your head "... From *THE* T.G. Cid? The guy who could go one on one against the Zodiac Braves? No... I was just HOPING for some..."
I'm so glad they gave Vagrant Story some love with the enemy knights before this fight and this theme ~ We didn't get much more but it's more than welcome for hard Ivalice fans 💖

This song reminds me of the theme for ganon, the final fight from ocarina of time. Simple yet ominous, and very good at conveing the threat of the enemy
Sometimes it feels like we don't deserve some of these songs they compose in videogames. It can be over the top but in an amazing way. We are lucky we get submitted to this amount of art, on so many different levels.
I never played Vagrant Story, but if I'd heard music like this coming out of my Playstation in the year 2000 I probably would have shit myself. What a banger!
I did! As a kid this music was too much to handle, plus the final boss in vagrant story can be an actual nightmare for an 11 year old at the time. Tense and really gave me the terrors when i heard it during the fight!

Such a cool theme, the base melody feels like it never resolves and it creates a sense of ruthlessness. Pair that with Thundergod’s epic and morbid dialogue it makes this boss fight pretty memorable for me personally.
The original music was for the final battle of Vagrant Story. The boss is a product of pure unadulterated evil. I think the base melody never resolves because of that. It is supposed to give you constant tension. I love this song and basically everything else Sakimoto wrote :)
I still remember one time when we had a few "newbies" going through this fight for the first time, only for the "newbies" to inadvertently cause us to wipe a few times, and they felt so bad about it. To which I said: "Seriously, don't worry about it, he's basically the hardest boss in the entire raid. There's nothing wrong with wiping a few times when you don't know what to do." and I was very quickly backed up by the other "veterans" of the raid who were quite vocal in agreeing with my assessment, and then tell them that the raid is still my favorite 24-man and that I just enjoy going through it. And when we finally cleared it, I was quick to point out to the newbies that the fight wasn't nearly so bad once they knew how to handle him.

This is originally Romeo Guildenstern's theme from Vagrant Story known as Vagrant Story - The Grotesque Creature He looks so similar to FFVII Safer Sephiroth (except having 2 wings). Edit: Vagrant Story needs a Remake and or Remaster and then a Sequel.

Just finished this raid yesterday for the first time and lemme tell ya: I haven't had my skills as a Tank be tested more than this fight and Ultima. Great mechanics, awesome music and a true sense of finality for both. I'm definitely excited for the Shadowbringer Raids and beyond!
This is the fight that made every player stfu and focus. God I love it. It's so ominous and well designed. The only non-extreme/non-savage fight in the game that feels like you just BARELY made it out victorious.

If you thought this was more forgiving than Ozma, you probably had a lot of people with very high ilvls in your alliance. I went in as healer with the minimum ilvl requirement since I had just returned and we almost ran out of time. Good thing I played FFT. When I saw attacks like Crush Helm and Crush Weapon I was like "What?! You can't do that in this game!"
I'm comparing my experiences from Week 1 Thunder God and Week 1 Ozma. I haven't had any raids disbanding or instances timing out on Thunder God. Obviously if you go back and fight Ozma now with everyone in max ilevel he's not an issue.

Maybe it is just me but this fight seems harder in terms of the amount of mechanics your brain has to deal with. Or maybe it felt like that to me because it is fresher in my memory.
Demonboy007 according to the official soundtrack, Ishimoto only provided synthesizer programming for the soundtrack. [the great cathedral theme] he had been doing that for square for a while prior to composing soundtracks.
I wouldn't agree this is more forgiving, there's a lot more movement and a dps check that's tight if you had people die. I was only lucky to have one of the teams tell us what to do because they went through it, can't imagine figuring it out blind.
But going in blind the very first time is the best part. You figure things out together. I just hope you not one of those people who ragequits after one wipe one day one.

This is way harder than something I would expect out of an Alliance Raid, especially because the previous two bosses were both pretty easy
This happens with every 24-man raid. The third boss is usually the hardest, and they design the fights with that in mind.

The next Ultimate fight will consist of these bosses: Construct 7, The Thunder God, and Ozma.
I'd prefer an ultimate for each 24 raid: Crystal Tower, Void and now Ivalice.
