As well as showing dominance to something that would otherwise not want to be tamed and broken to your will. There's a difference between blessing a base machine with a netherborn and shoving warp phenomena in a tank to make it your battle slave. No difference in practice, of course. It's the intent behind it.
Night lords are way more into Chaos corruption than the Iron Warriors. It's one thing to allow mutation to fuse you with your weapons and jump packs (like raptors), it's another to enslave a Daemon and use it's suffering as fuel for your tanks.
