this recording (according to my ears) is more intimate than the one that came out. I feel like he's in the room with me. Just make me miss him more. Thanks for putting this online.God bless, James.
You know I used to think this song is so romantic and cool back when I knew nothing about anything... I was just a kid that enjoyed this so so much and I always wanted this to be my weeding song... but now when I see what it really is about I can't help but think about groom that left the bride on the weeding day and that image often time smothers me in my nightmares kind of... I just can't help but think about Rowland playing it for me in the cathedral like: "Fuck yea I made it" type of moment and he's looking down on me as I'm getting married, with the cigarette in his mouth and that cheesy little smile... I had that dream eversince I was a little boy and this song means too much to me...I just smile and come back here every time and cry till I can breath anymore... I love you Rowland! From the bottom of my hear, thank you for being here for me always and for inspiring me to pick up my guitar when I was thinking about the worst things! Matthew, XO
I always read this comment again when I listen to the song . I think Rowland has a pretty good talent for haunting people in a way because sometimes when things happen he's the first one I want to tell- (usually when everything is going downhill and speeding up along the way ) - not in a literal way... it's just that if there's something like a guardian angel it might wear his skin and play his guitar. For whatever it's worth, and it isn't worth much, i was one time looking at the stars and thinking about death and Rowland came to mind, and i was wondering what ever happened to him, if he ever got to space , etc., and that's when i saw a shooting star go across the sky. And I know it wasn't really anything , i know well enough not to take the movements of the stars personally. It's just that for the time being it put my mind at ease.
This song is on my mind every morning when i awake. I discovered this on the verge of my last break up. and yes both versions are awesome. I didnt realize the two versions because i tend to click this link. I need to listen to both both back to back right now
Well, so long, baby I've had enough I can't ignore it I miss you so much I miss you so much I miss you so much I'm standing in a suit as ragged as my nerves And I agree what I've become Is surely worth the hatred that you spent on me The stars above me The night so deep that I could trip or drown And still I see that you would dearly love To shut me down Well, so long, soldier We're deep in dutch I can't ignore it I miss you so much I miss you so much I miss you so I'm standing in a suit as ragged as my nerves And I agree what I've become Is surely worth the hatred that you spent on me The sky above me The night so deep that I could trip or drown And still I see that you would dearly love To shut me down I miss you so much I miss you so much I miss you so much
I feel like the Pop Crimes version is very dreamy and pschologically seductive. This version is more of a raw bare bones vibe. I guess my mood determines which one i listen to in the morning.

Well, so long, baby
I've had enough
I can't ignore it
I miss you so much
I miss you so much
I miss you so much
I'm standing in a suit as ragged as my nerves
And I agree what I've become
Is surely worth the hatred that you spent on me
The stars above me
The night so deep that I could trip or drown
And still I see that you would dearly love
To shut me down
Well, so long, soldier
We're deep in dutch
I can't ignore it
I miss you so much
I miss you so much
I miss you so
I'm standing in a suit as ragged as my nerves
And I agree what I've become
Is surely worth the hatred that you spent on me
The sky above me
The night so deep that I could trip or drown
And still I see that you would dearly love
To shut me down
I miss you so much
I miss you so much
I miss you so much
goosebumps and tears...
Thanks Rowland...
We miss you so much

Thanks for this.
Dave gahan brought me here
Does Dave like this tune? Just curious if he mentioned it somewhere.
@@Friendly_Lurkerhe covers it with his band soulsavers
