My heart aches for both of them. But in the end, na-realize ko na kahit inabuso si Lola, nagtiwala pa rin sya sa isang hapon, si Miyasato. Salute to both women!

That is why we must never forget history.

Only rich kids goes to that Angelicum school. Nanay/Tatay ko di man lng ngsasabi samin. Hay naku my regret kasi namatay na pareho at wala ako dyan.

Grabe watching this episode, naaamaze ako sa veterans. They all speak english fluently kahit ilang taon o dekada na ang nakalipas!

      Shame!

I think the biggest impact a person could have on their life is to have known the truth about your identity and what could’ve been your life if you had known it. It’s sad to eventually one day die without knowing it. I hope Sichang will find the help she needed and for Lola Lourdes the peace, forgiveness and healing that she prays for.

This is so frustrating.

There were lives being sacrificed because of Japanese regime's action before. Including Lola Sichang, she and her siblings suffered a lot until now where she hasn't received acceptance from her community though she was innocent of someone else's action. She is now living as Filipino hence if Japan can't give her something I hope our gov't grant her what she deserve. She is also a human being who is suffering in life and has nothing to do with all the crimes committed by Japanese troops before.

    A Brief Backgrounder:
The last comfort woman to survive during the WW2 Japanese occupation of Iloilo was born LOURDES "Uding" SEQUIO of Barrio Buyo in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo. She was a household helper and nanny to the 3 young children of a Japanese couple in Iloilo named Tokomori and Uta Miyasato.
When Tokomori's wife died on April 19, 1944, he married Lourdes to take care of his children. A year after, on April 28, 1945 in line of duty as interpreter for the Japanese imperial Army, Tokomori was killed at Punta bridge in Cebu.
Later, after the war, the former Lourdes Sequio of Sta Barbara, Iloilo married a DIVINAGRACIA. --dinggol.d~~~
