the way most of the members of Shadow Garden act with regard to the things Shadow says and does, reminds me of a manga i've been reading, called I'm Really Not The Evil God's Lackey; the MC is a bookstore owner, who thinks he's behaving as a conman using convincing words and giving people books to help them with their problems, thus making them repeat customers; problem is, he's actually reality-warping and the books he gives are basically grimoires from the perspective of the people he gives them to; he gave a guy what he thought was a children's story book about a lost prince, and it ended up helping the guy get rid of a cursed sword that was bound to him; he has no idea any of this is going on, altho he does seem to know something strange is happening since he's contracted to some shadow being and has a non-Euclidean-geometry backroom library with all the knowledge of the entire world
also the 40 teeth thing. Not to mention all of the regulars crossing paths and helping each other out every once in a while because they figure that it's connected to some greater goal he has planned for all of them.
