Sony (1V and I guess 1VI) produces excelent (not overprocessed) Raw-Files that can be edited in Lightroom perfectly! You can raise the quality and details in the Sony Raws so much compared to their Jpgs. It is absolutely impressive. With Samsung S24u for example you get very bad Raws (Pro Mode and Expert Raw) because they are already highly processed and they are not real Raws, only processed Jpgs in a Raw-Container. A thirdparty app can solve this little bit (motionCam or gCam), but it is tricky and not always good. So for photograper-freaks the Sony is way better than any other phone.
After 5 years of being with Samsung, I've had enough! Terrible unrealistic colours, no expandable memory and gimmicky features... I am switching from Samsung to the new Sony Xperia 1 VI, it looks absolutely incredible!!
@@aashishnakarmi1690 Samsung S24 Ultra. I regret getting this a couple of months ago!! The new Sony Xperia 1 VI is only £50 more expensive and people are complaining it's too expensive when it's clearly the better phone with expandable memory... 🤦
@@chrisoranje6606 my friend has the Sony Xperia 1 V and he received so many compliments from other people. They all asked him which iPhone is it which goes to show that the quality is outstanding and Sony Xperia is by far the better choice amongst Android devices
The only sad thing about the Xperia 6 reviews is that the people in the US will never know how good the phone is. Even if we got one from overseas we would not have the benefits of 5G on the US phone lines
I definitely would buy the Xperia 1 vi. I'm actually considering that but I'm worried that it might not work on the T-Mobile network. What carrier do you run your Xperia 1 vi on?
Great video and shows that if there's any difference between the two Xperia 1s then it's subtle. Nice to have a little sharper zoom details, though, and some night WB smarts, but 1V owners should be pleased that it generally looks like business as usual. If you won't miss that extra zoom detail, the macro and the 48mps mode then stick to the 1V, unless you desperately need the 1VIs extra battery life. Any notes from you on that, btw? If you fully charged both in the am, how much more did the 1VI have in the tank at day's end?
That's a tricky one. I'm using the Mark 6 as my main phone. The other two didn't have a SIM card that day. So it's hard to say how the battery compared...that might be an interesting video to make.
Just upgraded my 1 III to the 1 V, and happy to see this comparison. Overall, it proves that Sony is continually improving with every generation, but I'm very satisfied with the V's results, here. Often, the top performer, to my eye. But, in this comparison, it's not a crime to be second, either.
Not to mention Sony phones have a unique feature with one button press to activate camera anytime, which is really very useful when you want to have a quick snap of some scene.
Very interesting comparison. I had the Pro-I before and quite loved taking photos with it because they are just so natural looking (no aggressive brightening of the shadows for example). However in the test in this video I was surprised of how split my choice for best photo was, pretty much evenly between the three phones, depending on the setting. I would have expected the VI to come out as a clear winner among these three. Interesting result for sure.
The Pro i still takes excellent photos. With the 1Vi, however, you notice that the new sensor can handle much higher ISO VALUES.And the battery really lasts twice as long and it reliably plays LDAC with full bandwidth and APTX Adaptive. Unfortunately, this wasn't possible with the Pro i. Otherwise the Pro i was simply fantastic
Barely any difference except for the additional zoom range. And while the VI does a better job exposing the background in the first video, the foreground highlights are blown out and I do prefer the overall look of the 1V.
With such similarities between the V and VI, i feel all the more reason to not move to the VI just yet. That's not to say that I think the VI isnt better but that my V is still very good
in terms of brightness and a bit of white balance, it's relatively easy to pick Mystery, V and VI .. Mystery always being the most different and darker, the V being the my preference and the VI being of same white balance but slightly over-exposed (on my monitor, in my opinion). I'm watching this as I've just got a V (I like to stay behind to curve for cost reasons ...).
Well i wanted to know does xperia 1vi have haptics, something called dynamic vibration?? I really enjoy with bass music on my xperia 1 ii but no one seems to talk about that function
This was an excellent breakdown of the three phones. I had hoped to make the Sony 1 VI my next phone, but I live in the states and we are not getting it. Do you think buying an international version will work with my carrier AT&T?
Would be more interesting if you had installed the camera app of the Xperia 1 VI on the 1 V. I did that and the pics and vids are brighter, more color true and have more contrast on my Xperia 1 V with the new app, compared to the photo pro app.
Got to say, I picked the Mark V or mystery in most of those, with the VI perhaps doing slightly better in low light/WB test. Not a great "upgrade" unfortunately.
Please compare the quality of Sony xperia 1 v and sony xperia 1 vi and Samsung S24 ULTRA screen and show a video of playing video and photos in them. In bright and low-light environment / it is very important, whether by reducing the resolution in Sony xperia 1 vi, I actually see a low-quality image or a high-quality one.
Definitely intrigued by the 1 vi's new variable zoom camera, but I'm still not sure about going for it since it still has the same sensor size as before. Also, there will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 with in-house Oryon CPU, so I'm conflicted even more.
If you don't shoot HLG video you kind of loose a lot. You can use Video Creator down the road to convert HLG video to SDR. On the other hand, Wide dynamic range option is kind of a hit or miss as it has issues with texture rendering and it does nothing in low light, at least in Video Pro.
Good upgrade. Is it a £1299 upgrade no. Maybe if you can find the preorder deals they Basil from TechEdit found. Otherwise, solid upgrade compared to previous generations.
Thanks for the well made comparision!! Thanks for your work. Is it for you possible to further compare it to an Pixel 8 pro or iphone 15 pro or samsung 24 ultra or Xiaomi 14?
Wow, those video shots are absolutely terrible. No details, blown out.. thank you for the review. It just put my mind to rest and made me look towards Vivox100 Ultra. Please review that one for video if you get the chance 😊
Great comparison! Sony has improved significantly, especially in low light. Just curious, when you say HDR for videos, you mean "Wide dynamic range" mode right? Because for some reason I can't enable stabilization and WDR at the same time.
The cameras are improved and it is still has the tendency to overexpose but it works like a top flagship camera at least as much as they can do with this tiny sensor in order to keep the results as natural as they can.The main sensor is doing a great job and I believe that if the PRO C will have a better sensor in order to complement the great manual software. In my opinion the new format suits better for utility even if I like the "unconventional" style more.Outaside of the screen res/ppi Sony device looks so good with real usable quality features(updated jack, all BT codecs, excellent sound software and this are FEATURES that no other device has, improved and more polished user interface, flagship cameras with😊 superb manual- auto adjustments, excellent color profiles display adjustments, great battery and more).I just have to wait for the price to drop.
13:12 it has a 1" type sensor but its not using the full sensor. The sensor has 20mp but due to the small lens only covers half of the sensor resulting in 12mp
I’d have purchased if they didn’t drop the 4K screen. Don’t see the point in all the of camera hardware, recording at 4K etc. if it’s only viewable through a 1080p screen. To keep the same sensors and drop the screen res to still charge £1300 is actually crazy.
I thought the mystery phone was the iPhone. The colors of Xperia pro are outdated in my opinion and I don´t know why Sony does not fix that. I also think that Sony won´t update the photo pro app of 1 V, If they're even going to do that, until they sold enough to the Xperia 1 VI.
Honestly I use to be a big Sony fan id always have there phones always preorder whenever one would come out now I always stay away they can never nail a solid phone that does great in all areas, again on paper they seem fantastic but real world use it's not all that great. I honestly believe I'll never buy another Sony phone again which is annoying as I don't want any Chinese brand phone Samsung isn't for my liking at all and I'd rather not bother with apple but I've only gone with iPhone for the fact that they hold value very well better trade in offers and if I wanted I can sell the phone at the end of a contract and get double that of an android.
