I had previously written a longer comment but my computer crashed before I could post it. I think it was just as overwhelmed as I was and simply had to shut down in a moment of silence, in order to properly compute and comprehend what just came through its speakers. I've watched this several times now, back to back and I find myself discovering new things that I didn't see before, because 0f my sheer amazement. All of the different cultural and stylistic embellishments that you've seamlessly included into your version are incredible, and I can only wonder how many others you considered, but chose not to add. Sometimes the scraps on the 'editing floor' are just as amazing as the end result. As a new subscriber to this channel I know what I'll be binging on this weekend, and I look forward to discovering everything else this amazing musician has given birth to, and sharing with every musician I know. I just wish that Flamenco guitar players were more acknowledged and appreciated here in the United States, but as we all know, the majority of amazingly skilled musicians get the least attention in this culture of 'dumbing down' musical audiences by overwhelming the music industry with the most simplified and talentless 'artists' in the entire history of music. There is something to be said for the artist(s) who can get the point across to their audience with the fewest notes, and,,, the artists who have the ability to play the most notes, are never the most entertaining to listen to, but there is a very high point of the 'happy medium' where a musician has found a way to blend that high skill level into music that is very easy to listen to, as well as being very interesting and entertaining at the same time. This is exactly the kind of high level playing that fits the bill. You've taken a composition that sounds a soundtrack to a scary movie about spiders and other creepy insects crawling over their horrified victims, and turned it into more of a softer, more beautifully melodic version that doesn't give me negative chills down my spine when I listen to it. Don't misunderstand.... I fully appreciate Tim Henson's original composition and talent, but he was obviously going for a certain sound, which he pulled off to perfection, and I think that in the right context of a horror movie or something similar it could have profound effect on the audience, just like in my quiet setting, in the middle of the night, your version had a profound calm-amazement effect on me. I can only wonder what dynamics a little 'scratchpad', thumping, and subtle beatbox as percussion, would add to your version, but I also know the insane amount of practice it would require to perform it, much less taking the time to figuring out the arrangement, and to do all of that with someone else's original composition. Maybe G.O.A.T. is actually worthy of someone taking the time to elevate it even higher than you have here. The possibilities are endless with such amazingly skilled artists as yourself, who make this stuff look easy. But I think I'd rather see a video tutorial/explanation of how YOU take a simple seed of a melody, and turn it into your own masterpiece, and the steps, and considerations that you include, as well as the ones you toss aside while forming and composing an original piece. I think it would be very entertaining, as well as informative and inspiring to upcoming artists who have trouble building the foundation and structure of a good composition, before embellishing it with all of the licks and tricks they want to 'flex' as Tim says, and Flamenco is just the right style of guitar playing to show the world how to 'flex' like a true master. Robert, you don't look old enough to have a son who is also old enough to have an intelligent conversation about Polyphia and/or the complexities of amazingly skilled guitar players like yourself and Tim Henson, but I guess these 'child prodigies' are getting younger and younger as time passes. PEACE
Wow…I don’t know where to start Michael…thank you very much for leaving your very interesting insights here. I’m in Granada right now recording my new album, but will revisit your post and answer you properly asap. Thank you once again!
Aside from this being the best cover of this song. You did all the parts AND you actually played the whole song. Instead of just the intro, like everyone else on YT
Thank you very much! 🙏Yes I wanted to do the whole thing mainly to do Tim and his piece justice. While the main theme or riff is very cool, musically I think some of the other parts are more interesting.
As a guitarist, GOAT by Polyphia amazed me and I was inspired to learn it. However, as primarily a classical and fingerstyle guitarist, your cover blew my mind. I’m even more pumped to try learning your cover!
This may be the best cover of the song I've heard so far. I don't know if it's because of the sound of the nylon strings or because of the incredible flamenco strumming but it just sounds insanely good. Well done man, you deserve way more recognition.
Man the tones are so freaking beautiful and amazing I think I have watched just about every goat cover on TH-cam and this is by far my favorite because it makes the song even better with only the tones a flamenco guitar can produce that are so unique great work man my jaw is still on the floor I didn't think someone could make a amazing instrumental like goat 10 times better but man you sure did

I can't imagine how hard it must be to play this with perfection just like you did, and adding your own style into the song, its simply amazing, congrats!!
Thank you very much Henrique! Not trying to flex here at all, but most of it is not THAT difficult. There are some sections that you instinctively feel are composed for electric guitar and pose some challenges, but none you can´t overcome:)
Amazing cover. Well done, much less forgiveness on an acoustic than distorted electric, and probably even less on a nylon string vs. steel. I also love your liberties with the strumming rhythm.
Thank you very much for your comment! Like you said, I’ve also played it on electric and switching to nylon feels like playing a different instrument altogether. I added those strums to make that section a little more interesting, as musically nothing much happens there.😃
Man... I've been playing guitar for 15 years, but only really *studied* the first five because of life stuff.. But this really wants me to go back to properly studying. Amazing arrangement, congrats.

My main thought, however, was the fact that this song is even possible to play on a nylon string guitar makes me appreciate the original just a little bit more. That means that Polyphia really do rely on just good old-fashioned badass guitar playing to compose their songs, rather than relying on effects or any other techniques to make it sound as amazing as it does.
I'd be interested to know what this would sound like with entirely acoustic backing, like having either an upright bass, or an acoustic bass. Fantastic cover all around, truly!
This is astounding man! You really have skillful technique and did a beautiful job arranging this for an acoustic. And you did it with a very musical respect for the spirit and vibe of the original artists while bringing your own thing to it. I know I am not alone in thinking the original chord sequence and harmonizations sounded very influenced by traditional flamenco music. You just proved it. I hope this brings you lots of success with your own thing!

Wow, even those unforgiving, trickier sections sound crystal clear! That's dedication in its finest state. Congratulations!
Thank you very much🙏😃
Oh my god! You hit it man! Freaking awesome! Love the flamenco flair. Great technique and outstanding sound quality and recording. Well done!!!
Thank you very much Brent🙏 So glad you like it!
I almost came when he played Scott's part. Mind-blowing.
😂🙏🙏🙏
Fantastic Robert!
Thank you very much🙏😃
I'd be interested to know what this would sound like with entirely acoustic backing, like having either an upright bass, or an acoustic bass. Fantastic cover all around, truly!
Love this!!! Went through like 15 acoustic covers to find this classical masterpiece!! Great job!!!
Thank you very much Joshua🙏
As a guitarist I feel inspired and vindicated that my time focusing on this style of guitar is absolutely worth it!
Absolutely right Michael, and thank you very much🙏
Clicking the switches/buttons on your interface in time with the song was SO Satisfying!
😆Thanks man! Yeah, got a little creative when I was recording the video🙏😃
Absolutely sick. Killed it mate - seriously impressive. And also a huge complement to Polyphia for such an incredible composition.
Thank you very much man, so glad you like it🙏😃
This is astounding man!
Thank you very much Davin! Yes you’re absolutely right, this song really lends itself well to the flamenco guitar and its language.🙏😃
How can the cover be better than the original, and we're talking about polyphia?!!
Incredible work sir.
Thank you very much! I’m so glad you like it 🙏😃
Tremendous skill, holy wow. Your fretboard speaks volumes about the work you've put in to get here.
My guitar looked at me in disgust and told me: "Go back to your bronze lobbies in Apex scrub"😭😭
Hahahahahahaaaaaaa!! I´m sure it didnt!!
saame haha
Haha 😂😂😂
You should look at those Bronze Apex lobbies and go back to guitar ;)
Mine was like "Don't ever touch me again you weak fuck"
Damn , ive been playing for nearly 40 years and this is the best I've heard... ever! So much talent. Where does someone go from here?!
Thank you very much Deon🙏

Mint you’re the first person I’ve seen play the whole song congrats
Thank you very much🙏
Right hand technique is flawless. Great playing - nice to see technique and musicality co-existing.

Just listened to it again, this is by far my favourite cover of the song!

Definitely not an easy task playing the full goddamn song on a classical guitar! Love how clean that last part sounds!

0:29 nice whammy bar on acoustic
