- I rarely play anything other than my own music. This video however, is a result of a discussion I had with my son Liam (who is a huge Polyphia fan), about whether it would even be possible to play GOAT on a nylon guitar? I had to try..! Should anyone be interested, there´s a tutorial out now as well!

The tabs are the same as the original. The only thing he changed was the picking pattern. Not to downplay the genius of this cover. Those runs are super difficult to play clean, and he did it masterfully on low tension strings. Most people forget how hard it is to vibrato on nylon.
0:29 Tim taps those notes , you put your pinky to work reaching the octave . 1st finger three strings and 7 frets from the forth finger at that moment ...amazing

yeah tapping doesn't sound very good on acoustic and classical (nylon) guitars

Iam a 1 year begginer and iam very happy I started my journey on an unplayable classical
I tried an electric and it felt sooo easy to play
@@ibrahimismail5625 They can be difficult . When I started playing back in middle school (2004) I had a steel acoustic and a nylon string . The steel strings are great for building finger dexterity and the classical forces you to play clean or it will sound bad. All of which will make playing the smaller thinner electric necks a lotttt easier .Keep at it . Playing was and still is my therapy .

Man the tones are so freaking beautiful and amazing I think I have watched just about every goat cover on TH-cam and this is by far my favorite because it makes the song even better with only the tones a flamenco guitar can produce that are so unique great work man my jaw is still on the floor I didn't think someone could make a amazing instrumental like goat 10 times better but man you sure did

Amazing cover. Well done, much less forgiveness on an acoustic than distorted electric, and probably even less on a nylon string vs. steel. I also love your liberties with the strumming rhythm.
Thank you very much for your comment! Like you said, I’ve also played it on electric and switching to nylon feels like playing a different instrument altogether. I added those strums to make that section a little more interesting, as musically nothing much happens there.😃

If I see something that I don’t like, I don’t feel compelled to let the world know my opinion. On the other hand, whenever I see something that I genuinely like, I will let that person know.
There are many theories as to the dislikes that occur on just about any video on TH-cam no matter how good it is. Next time you see them and feel perplexed bring this comment to mind. Here are some theories of mine.
1) they hit it by mistake, I’ve done it myself before
2) you do know that in this world their are people that either like to troll or are literal crazy, literally
3) they were crying at the time because they were so moved by what they just heard or saw and couldn’t see the screen clearly
4) they interpreted dislike as dis-i-like 😆
Or like myself, as with this video, the likes are so high that for me it’s such a minute percentage that have hit the dislike I think of it as such a non issue that its hardly worth the effort of taking any notice of the dislikes. Just a thought 👍

The riff on the intro surely sounds better on a classical, but I like the electric guitar tones as well of the original on the heavier parts
Clint Thank you! This was simply an exercise to see whether it was even possible to play it on a nylon. Had I produced a song like this I would of course use an electric. 😃

Just had to let you know I've been coming back to this for years. I recently spent some time in Spain studying Flamenco, which was partially influenced by some of the incredible crossovers I've seen with the style. I hear Tim was also inspired by your cover which must be an honor.

I absolutely love this, truly an incredible display of technical ability and musicality. I usually try to leave some form of constructive criticism on these types of video so I'll try for this one as well. It's purely subjective but I felt the rasgueado was almost too perfect. It could use a bit of dirt or imperfection to give it more impact in my opinion, as the notes were (amazingly) perfectly spaced apart which, for me, goes against the character of the rasgueado.
Thank you very much for taking the time to comment. As far as the rasgueados goes, I guess it’s a matter of taste. To me, the life blood of flamenco (even though this is not flamenco in any way shape or form and I’m simply using some of the techniques here) is compás , and especially for this piece where attention to rhythm is absolutely paramount for it to work I think that this type of rasgueados worked best.🙏😃
