Hope nobody missed out on the OTK conference. Asmongold's first question in every interview was still what inspired them, and in one case he asked a guy if he got fired from a big developer. Man on the couch hit the classic "are the developers on drugs???" during a demo. Multiple trailers aired out of order. They got a guy in a propeller hat in the audience to cry about there being no Fortnite. They still had the thing where you the viewer vote on which devs they magnanimously give money to, and the show ended with "Asmon's picks" to let everybody know that everything in the prior 2 and a half hours was actually shit and these are the games he really cares about. It was a great time
About the guy on WoW with 12 million health, he did not grind 12h a day every day. He grinded like 10 hours on day one on an INCREDIBLY efficient farming spot that existed back in the original MoP that Blizz didn't patch out until like a week into the event. So genociding the frog population turned him into an unkillable god.
2:16:07 As a proud sufferer of MegaMan Legends brain worms (also know as Tron Bonne disease) I appreciate Aggro understanding our sickness and hope he will continue to raise awareness in the future.
Bob, in regards to God Hand, I HIGHLY recommend playing on Easy, since instead of having the full difficulty gauge of level 1, 2, 3, die, you only get levels 1 and 2, and it's a lot more manageable. It's still hard because it's God Hand, but you no longer hit level 3/die and the game suddenly becomes literally impossible. Normal difficulty is honestly total ass, because either you get the experience you (Bob) had where you're good enough to handle levels 1 and 2 but not good enough for 3 and die so you just have to get your ass kicked every so often, or you're good enough to handle level die so your difficulty is always maxed out, at which point you might as well just play on hard (which is always at level die no matter what). I also recommend you look up the PS2 manual because it has a list of moves you can ALWAYS do that are not actually listed or explained anywhere in the game. For example, hitting up on the right stick to do a "juke" dodge and then immediately hitting triangle will ALWAYS do a sweep that's really good for countering and knocking down enemies in the middle of their combos since the juke you do will probably avoid the actual attack anyway, and this works no matter what move you have bound to triangle normally. There's also the combo of moves you can do to an enemy that's laying on the ground, where you pop them up in the air with an axe kick (which you can charge for more damage and to launch them higher), kick them again to juggle them even higher, and then you can either do a big uppercut to keep them in the air or a massive kick that sends them flying to the other end of the world, and being able to do things like this is really important for actually being able to handle crowds of enemies. Idk what TH-cam channel you looked at but Mike Kobe is the channel I used to help me learn stuff about the game- his hard NG+ playthrough specifically is something I've watched a couple times and it really helped me a lot, I've gotten to the point where I can actually handle full playthroughs of the game on hard: th-cam.com/play/PLc3QkV-L-tFsYAsIOsgu16D0jNGdrsvAX.html&si=1W-C07lWKyINGWWE But above all just play on easy to save yourself a lot of pain when you do that stream, and don't let anybody give you shit because god hand is legitimately the hardest game I've ever played and I can't think of anything that even comes a little bit close.
2:58:01 I don't know if this will be mentioned later on, but this is actually something Square Enix just did for the new SaGa game. To help with debugging the game, they had an AI program go through and flag things that might be errors. Then the human debuggers went back and checked if they were legitimate problems or not. If memory serves, it cut down a lot of time that otherwise would've been spent combing through the game for any errors.
30:00 Plants vs zombies Battle for neighborhood is like if you took everything great and amazing about the garden warfare games, and took it all out and put a battle pass there, it was 40$ on launch and had and still has less content then LAUNCH GW2 They essentially removed unique variants of each character for a bad hero format, I know because I have a lot of time in both games bc I tried to give neighborhood a chance. And removed things not even tf2 did that made it unique like unlockable characters and hidden secret bosses!
And the worst thing is they removed the OFFICIAL Cheeto chomper from GW2 Also they somehow made a worse system than the loot boxes in GW2 that were actually good (I got basically all characters without spending cash and it did not take an eternity bc you can garuntee you get a character after around 10 online matches!)
Holy fuck Rise of the Incarnates mentioned, now I get to talk about Bamco being fucking stupid. So RoI wasn't just an arena fighter, it was explicitly supposed to be a Gundam Vs clone with the IP stripped out for "western audiences" Mechanically it was near identical (albeit terrible feeling, of course), and basically the entire cast were wholesale moveset clones of various suits from EXVS, when asked about it in interviews a Bamco rep said something to the effect of "licensing Gundam in the west is hard and we don't think there's enough of a market for it but we think these games have great E-Sports Potential". Literally nobody remembers it nowadays but as someone who loved Gundam Vs back in the day it'll always live rent free in my head as one of my strongest memories of 7th gen brainrot.
2:06:16 Correct. Mod Nation Racers was fairly solid and had its own personality. It was a great sister series to LBP. But for some reason Sony had the underrated devs just make an awkward replacement pseudo sequel. Baffling. Infuriating. Unforgivable.
WRT God Hand: I played that game years before playing Resident Evil 4, so my first time playing the latter was an *extremely* uncanny experience. Especially since God Hand reuses the Ganado death animation for all its enemies.
Learning that aggro hasn't been reading the in universe newspapers and novels is crazy to me, that's like one of my favorite things about the trails games
I actually played The Amazing Eternals back in 2017 or so! It was a 5v5 hero shooter by digital extremes (warframe) that only ever had a closed alpha testing period- I had to agree to an NDA and everything. There was a character who could put down traps around the map, one of which was a wind trap that would send people flying based on how you placed it, and you could just set them on the other side of a door and send people flying off the map and kill them that way, so I had fun doing goofy shit like that, but ultimately I'm really fucking glad DE realized they were too late to the hero shooter craze and cancelled it before they spent too much time and money on it. It's kind of wild to think about because it was over five years ago that DE realized this, meanwhile other companies seemingly missed the memo that their hero shooter would have a 99% chance of cratering on impact and are still trying to make them in the current year.
All I could think during the Lair section was "I wonder how this compares to the dragon sections from Drakengard 3" and I think that particular race to the bottom might be a photo finish. Also the novels in the Trails games are really good, especially because I think a couple of them are basically just in-universe real-person fanfic about guys who show up in later games.
There was multiple games made with the assets of the remnants of Paragon, currently there is a version that is doing... okay at best called Predecessor.
Really looking forward to the God Hand stream, that game is amazing. Hard but amazing and really fun. I have a lot of fond memories of watching Kungfujesus play it waaaay way back in the day. OH MAN I DIDN'T EXPECT HIGH SIDE KICK CANCEL TO COME UP [Dicaprio pointing at screen.jpg] I used to do that all the time to destroy the car in the bonus stages.
Tameem's dad was a heroin kingpin backed by MI5. He didn't get rich and become a millionaire partyboy. He always was. He just got bored of making games and stopped.
Since I first saw it and heard it talked about on past episodes, I was saddened by Sushi-Ben being a VR game because I haven't the space, money or inclination for those. Didn't know it had a non-VR mode added to it, so hey, cheers lads, I'm on that next payday. I'm surprised no-one suggested during the Toys For Bob bit that they get handed the Banjo IP and just produce a Crash-shaped Banjo game. Then you'd get the best Banjo game and also mortally wound the more deranged Banjo fans.
Preferring Toys for Bob make a Conker game instead of a Banjo game has to be up there on the list of "insane Kris takes". Like it or not Conker is the way it is because of Chris Seavor and I can't imagine what a conker game would look like without him involved. He is like the Kojima of Conker and I know now that I sound just as insane as Kris with that statement lol
The PSVR2 dongle removing every non-OLED reason to get one for PC did a pretty good job selling me on a Quest 3. As a sidenote: Wireless steam vr is baller as hell.
