An Absolutely SAVAGE Day Riding The Fausto Coppi Gran Fondo!

- This is my first ride into the real high mountains for years!
The Fausto Coppi Gran Fondo is part of my build up for the Haute Route and at 177km in length and with over 4000 meters of ascent, it's not a route for the faint hearted.
It's fair to say this one really pushed me and forced me to dig deep inside. The main climb of the day, the Colle Fauniera is an absolute beast that holds it own alongside any of the iconic and more famous climbs in Europe!

Hey Dave! What an event - looks absolutely nuts to be honest and kudos for even getting it done. I am suuuuper glad to hear that you will be documenting your training and nutrition over the weeks coming up and this is something I have mentioned I would love to see a couple of times in your comments! really looking forward to that mate.

well done fella looked brutal, done a few this year that was excited for but realised quite quickly that I had not done enough for! That's what makes us human. As the saying goes, if we wait until we are ready then we'll never be ready!!
Put Tour of Pembrokeshire on your list for next year. Did it for the first time this year, you would love the scenery bit like the Dragon ride. I found it tough but will be back next year!

Beautiful footage Dave & I could feel your pain on the morning after, I felt guilty for laughing at your suffering but that's because I didn't have to do those climbs 🤷🏻♂️

Two hours to reach the summit… wow… I think I only have enough positive affirmations for about an hour without repeating them… 😅… that last hour I probably would’ve made up some new curse words… 😂😂😂😂🫡🍻
@@CycoWarriorx haha. It was ridiculously long…. The last bit was an absolute slog. All I could think about was the Haute Route and the fact that I’d be climbing mountains like this everyday for a week… it’ll either be the best or worst event of my life 😬
