Dan I wanted to take a moment and really thanks you. Life has been rough here as my wife is in her final battle with breast cancer and your videos have given us a chance to feel like we are still out rock hunting even though she can’t any won’t be able to anymore. I can’t thank you enough for the joy you being to us and I hope I have a chance to meet you some day and even rock hunt together.
i have been there probably 30 times. There was a man named James that went there every day for about twenty years. He put his daughter through college on diamonds. He would dig about a a5 foot hole down to the big rocks and take out bucket loads of soil. then he would take it home and go through it. Always found at least one diamond per day.
Ya know it’s refreshing to hear you start with “I hope I earn your subscription,” instead where others just tell viewers to do it….and BEFORE they’ve offered anything. Thank you for your humor and positivity on entertaining informative content.
As an archaeologist I know this feeling all too well. You take one day off and you get a text showing your collegues found an entire pot after having not found anything great for weeks lmao
I was coming home from work and a coworker called me and told me to take a left before my street because somebody digging construction or something found a bunch of bones. I live in Macomb county Michigan and they found a mastodon right next to my house. My coworker got to help them bag up the bones.
Hey Dan, I was using the techniques that you teach on your channel yesterday and I found decent gold on A creek that I've been told time and again that " There ain't no gold in that creek"! I've been prospecting for about fifteen years now and around here its hit or miss. You've got to go south to Southern Oregon or east to the Ochoco, but there are two old mining districts in my general area, but they're all claimed up. This creek isn't on any of the maps or general knowledge of the area, but I found a decent pocket of gold yesterday. Its flour gold, but that's what you find in this area. Thanx Dan. You're knowledge is adding to my bag of tricks that I learned from my father (who is a geologist and gold mine owner and prospector) and he says he's been learning from you too. He's fighting cancer right now, but when he's won his fight we're heading back out to find some color. Thanx for all you do. We really appreciate it.
I loved these two videos. They were a bit more chill than some of the other group videos and the thanks at the end were so nice. Real people with similar interests forming real friendships. Maybe you didn’t find a real diamond while you were there but the adventures and information are why I tune in. Have a great day Dan and keep up the good work.
My kids and I were at Crater of Diamonds on New Years Day 2022. We had no idea what we were doing and were more or less just there to have fun. Met some great people that day! Glad you got to go!!
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏 What an amazing experience. So sorry the three finds were on your plane ride home. So close, so close and yet so far. But happy for "that Camping Couple" and the "Crystal Collector " Thank you very much for sharing all of this with us. I pray God continues to bless you and your's. Including a blessing on your health and healing. Amen
I love how humble and appreciative you are of your friends. Your joy and enthusiasm are infectious. I always leave your videos feeling happier than I was. 🙂
Hi Dan, Good luck, I hope to see a diamond today. A suggestion for the next trip: if you ever come to Bavaria, I will take you to a famous fossil quarry where you can find the incredible Archeopteryx. I'm sure you would have your fun. Best greetings from Munich, Jens, from Sundays at the creek!
Hi Dan, I really enjoy your channel. I used to work for a tribe of First Nations wonderful people from Northern California. The chief would council me and one thing that I never forgot was what he told me. Don’t laugh 😆 and smile to much. This goes back thousands of years. People will think your crazy. How many old photos have you seen where the people are smiling. Very few. I think one thing is mercury would effect the miners nervous systems and they would laugh and act crazy all the time. 😜😆🤪
What great trips to other miners, gem diggers , I’m not sure what to call everyone they all do something different but the same , you know what I mean ? You all share a special interest! Love Canada ! What great neighbors all of us!
Awe Dan you already found a Diamond in the rough it was Pauly. It looked like a Great Adventure Dan so Jealous , May the Mineral Gods Always Smile down on you Dan.
Wish I had seen this before we went today! Went with the family. No diamonds. Made lots of mistakes in inefficiency. But had the best time ever! Hope to go back some day with all these tips I just learned.
My first time commenting.......Mr Dan you are sooooo enthusiastic that it is infectious!! Thank you for that! Now I too have had a life altering experience and then surgery. Lots of things wrong with no cause or history.....then a implanted device. I empathize with you on that, and the disc thing too. Your last trip was so much fun to watch!! Thanks again...keep doing what you do!
this guy's channel is so fulfilling. it was so cool to learn about prospecting from someone that has no idea how it works and it makes me really excited to visit the state of Arkansas!
I really wish I could have visited you while you were hear. You commented a few years ago it was on your bucket list to come down here. I'm glad you made it down, to give it your best. I wish you had found one. No gold here just lots of crystals and a few diamonds. My bucket list it to travel to Canada and take in the beautiful Views.
Awww I’m sorry that you didn’t find one yourself but I love your positivity. We are learning so much from your channel, and it’s great getting to the outdoors via your channel (we are stuck at home with covid)
@Dan Hurd Seeing Polly have a hard time flipping those sieves gave me an idea. At the equatorial points on the sides of the sieves add a couple wing nuts but drill the holes larger than the threads so they don't stick and can rotate freely. Put in a cpl rubber spacers to avoid seizings. The wing nuts on each side will facilitate the flipping of the sieves with ease.
The irony is the first video I watched of yours was you teaching a class on constructing a saruca. I needed one for our trip to crater of diamonds 3 years ago.
hey dan glad to see you had fun in my home state i live about 1and a half from the park and love to go every year . cant wait to go this summer maybe i will find one now that i see where to look and what to look for.
It was really great seeing that place on camera my grandparents took me hunting there over over 20 years ago. I hope you stopped at the all the rook shops around hot springs if not you need to come back to the states
@@Danhurd I watched this video with my children. They all shouted at 15:23! on top of third pile is one gleaming object like nothing else on there. Surely that was one?
I live in Arkansas. The people here are amazing! I’ve never been to the crater but I’ve always wanted to go. Awesome video and glad to see you in my neck of the woods! Hope you make it back!
Given that barite is more dense than diamonds, it's possible that they are hiding under the barite layer. I found broken hacksaw blades to be really handy for sorting diamonds out of the gravel produced by the x-ray sortex at the mine I worked at.
Anyone else keep catching themselves trying to get closer to the screen as if we can control the camera? I just realized I was about to strain my neck looking for the yellow diamond before Dan shows it to us!
What a wonderful character you are Dan, tell me here in South Africa we have some diamonds and I have seen them running the small aggregate stone over a grease table, as diamonds will stick to the grease and scraped off, are you able to do something similar? Great vlogs, many thanks, Paul, Johannesburg
Hey Dan, I’m in NW Florida which doesn’t have anything to “mine” except for sea-oats and sand spurs. I’m just curious, so I wanted to ask you if you mine the Prescious metals and rocks for a living or if it’s only a hobby? If you would prefer not to answer, I fully understand….and I apologize if that’s something I shouldn’t have asked. Anyhow, I absolutely love watching your videos…..even if you don’t find your “target”. Your wonderful spirit and nature is an absolute blessing to watch! The world would be a much better place if we had a few more people like you! Have a phenomenal day my brother, may your every endeavor be blessed in multitudes always! Sincerely, Donnie Miller from Standing Goats Rescue
I like it ! You get in there and help! Great teamwork! Hope to see you there in November! I had a Medflight out my 1st trip to Murfreesboro! My wife and I are coming back soon. I’m a rock hound!
Dan you've gotten even more awesome recently, I enjoy your videos even more. You seem happier, brighter and more true. I love your videos brother, keep shining! 🌞👍
I hope you find one like your friends. I already subscribed The Crystal Collector and i had watched how he found diamond. I enjoy your videos so much.. You all are so sweet. Loves from Türkiye 💞
Ow to be shure if it's a diamond: take a beaker with liquid oxygen, heat the stone with a propane torch redhot and then throw the stone in the liquid oxygen. If it burns it was a diamond.
I didnt even notice till you pointed it out. I remember the 15,000 subscriber days and he was teaching. Thought we lost him for a minute, and after that horrible time we get more content than ever. And he has only ever wanted to earn everyone's subscription
Looks fun! You should check out Gem Mountain near Phillipsburg, Montana. Similar type of mining and I guarantee you'll walk away with a couple spoonfulls of sapphires.

Dan I just love how joyful you are. Your positivity is very much appreciated
I am so awed. Your humbleness and kindness are beyond refreshing! Rock on and keep it rolling!!!!

Beautiful flipping. Love the energy around you guys. Keep digging!
Thanks Dan, the crystal expedition was most fun to watch. We always enjoy but this was great.
I just love it when you all get together because then I get to see angles from each others TH-cam videos thanks
I love your attitude! It's not always finding these things, it's the thrill of the search!
Its true you can experience things through your friends and story telling. Thanks for the story Dan.
This is going to, be another great video
ok I will check out the camping couple. Already checked out Pioneer Pauly, and the crystal collector.

It's not about the treasure. It's about the journey and who you spend it with. :)
Dug for diamnonds there almost 8 years ago...they had just run the ripping bar to turn the field. Then it rained. No diamonds, but tons of fun.
