- Mustel invented the Celesta/Celeste (Steel bars struck by hammers) and combined it with their famous harmoniums to create an instrument called an Orgue-Célesta. Many composers wrote original pieces for this unique instrument, including Clément Loret, who's evocotive 'Les Cloches du Soir' (Evening bells) perfectly demonstrates the magical sound of this instrument.
Performed by: Jonathan Scott

ORGUE-CÉLESTA No. 2332-1211-506 (1913)

What an unusual instrument! I had never heard of it before. Thank you, Jonathan and Tom, for bringing us this beautiful piece demonstrating this instrument.
I thought this harmonium was beautiful and this piece suited it very well. It reminds me of a music box like that with the ballerina spinning. Very good taste. Thank you Jonathan. ❤🥰😍😘🎶🎹👍🙋🏻♀️
This man a genius
What a beautiful instrument and a really lovely piece. Thank you for posting. 💜
I only have a few words: "What a beauty!" Thank you Jonathan and Tom.
What an unusual, impressive and lovely sounding Instrument is this Mustel Orgue - Cèleste of 1913 ! A Fine performance of Clèment Loret's ' Les Cloches du Soir' Jonathan.Thank you both for sharing this Charming rendition and visuals.
Ein Traum, dieses Celesta-Harmonium! Neben den wunderbaren Riesen-Orgeln der anderen Videos ein wahres, ebenbürtiges Kleinod! 👋👍🎶🎹😊 Vielen Dank!
What a unique and wonderful instrument. The bass drone effect is something I’ve never seen before. It’s as if one had a pedalboard suddenly attached.
Unbelievable! What a wonderful instrument! It is like an orchestra. Thanks for the wonderful music!
What an enchanting instrument! I love the combination of bell sounds with the harmonium! I've just discovered another new form of music I wasn't aware of before. This piece is delightful, and I'd love to hear more like this! Thank you Jonathan for this little gem, played on this gem of an instrument! Thanks Tom for the superb recording! ❤ 🎹 ❤
It is really interesting to hear the different type of sound between the percussion of the steel bars versus the slower onset of the reed stops.
I am so moved by the beautiful sounds emanating from this harmonium. And I am sure it was further enhanced by the artistry of Jonathan Scott. What a treat for the ears and the heart of all who listen. Thank you, as always, for your musical gift 🎶.
Beautifull harmonium! Angel song......
Magnificent. Just when you think it doesn't get any better, Jonathan locks in a bass drone using some secret mechanism. The instrument seems in fine fettle.
Delicate, subtle, mesmerizing. Charming piece and instrument. Reminds me of scenes in old movies where we and the parents lovingly gaze down upon the sleeping baby. 🤱🤗 Thanks for sharing this beautiful relaxing music. 💐💐🎹🎶
It's not often I'm speechless but . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 🙂
Interesting to note the mechanized ability to sustain the two drone bass notes without jamming pencil wedges at the backs of the keys.
Utterly charming performance and what a wonderful instrument.
You were absolutely spot on with that interpretation, Jonathon. Just as Loret would have donated it performed. A beautiful treat for us all.
Beautiful! What better before going to bed than this calming music.
Another feature I could see is that you can lock keys down on this instrument to be used as drones.
What a delightful sound.
Удивительный инструмент! Вы как сказочник рассказали нам красивую историю❤
Such a delightful instrument. Truly celestial and truly unique. Thanks fo a beautiful introduction to this special harmonium!
Beautiful!!

Какая интересная музыка и необыкновенный инструмент !❤
I’m glad I live in an era where I can do this freely with my newfangled electronics and synthesizers .etc😅
Ah, now that was beautiful!! It was wonderful to hear it again. It was my favourite instrument that you played at Orgelpark & I really enjoyed this piece then. A fabulous video, thank you both for reminding me of this. xx
What a fantastic sound, just beautiful.
Charming.
Many thanks.
if that ain't in heaven, then I don't know what else could be there
You certainly do it justice. Such a sweet piece. Thank you.XX I'm enjoying this lovely, light piece more and more every time hear it.
Precious! It looks like a lullaby! It sounds very charming! Thank you!❤😘😘
What a new and amazing sound to me. Thank you so much for sharing this❤
The music is lovely. I love the sound of the bells. A little tutorial about this particular organ and demonstration of how it works would be appreciated as well.
If you watch the whole concert Jonathan uploaded from the Orgelpark in Amsterdam (on this channel) he plays a variety of organs and also the Celeste-Harmonium.
In that concert before each piece is played he talks about the instrument and gives a talk about this instrument.
Thanks! Truly Amazing! I hope you recorded more.
Oooh pretty ❤
Great music and amazing player !
🎉unique 🎉
Lovely
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I think this has a blower. I'm wondering - are there any clips of Jonathan playing an instrument where you have to pedal? (And no, I don't mean a pedalboard of course - we know he's great on those!)
He has uploaded a whole video about harmoniums and you see there how he pedals the blower
@@epincion Thanks; I'll look for it.
