Widow's Kiss should give the -4 power to one of the other cards at that location when destroyed. That way you keep the disruptive factor of its negative power while still allowing the spot to free up for your opponent.
The Scream and Kingpin nerfs sting. It was just starting to become pretty competitive and was able to do so because it was able to interact with unrevealed cards allowing you to shut down big cards like Black Panther or hit a Hulk Buster so that even when it lands on another card its not buffing much. Important note about Widow's Kiss: The slide shows it still as Ongoing, but it's just a plain ability now without a keyword. Its ability is no longer affected by Onslaught, Onslaught's Citadel, or Enchantress now.
@@thedestructiveone5804 Which is actually really bad because you now actively want to remove the Bite's ability, which would be far easier if it was an Ongoing effect.
@@GigaBrainGaming.Sm4rt it's a give and take with the goal to make it more balanced for both sides. This also means Super Skrull won't take on the ability anymore so that's nice. My impression of the change is that it only really makes Widow worse in clog while still being a great card everywhere else, and I'm looking forward to seeing for myself.
@@GigaBrainGaming.Sm4rt Red Guardian is guaranteed to hit Kiss. Also good to see a relevant father-daughter combo. Another combo to look forward to WW - Armor - Misery almost definitely win the lane.
Clog needed a nerf, white widow was far above a power outlier being to clog a lane for 2 energy with no downside. I feel like the Hela nerf happened because of the clog nerf. Would have liked more significant changes, it's been a while since we had an OtA like the Omega Red changes. White Widow is now antithetical to her archetype, which sucks, but I don't think she was ever intended to be a clogger at her core. I always saw her as a lizard type role. He stats are the upside and you get punished for them fill that lane
I've been patiently waiting for Kingpin to be semi viable. And the moment the card gets there they gut it. I'm dissapointed they are focused on cards that are JUST getting their day in the sun. Meanwhile, decks that have dominated for years are largely unchanged.
I love that thematically Zabu is a Kazar card now. (Doesn’t mean that’s the route) Zabu helps Kazar and Kazar buffs Zabu. Now give me 2 energy Active Shanna
@sa1nt683 Hela for what's in your Discard Pile and Phoenix Force for what's been destroyed. Now you're REALLY covered. And chuck a Sersi in there too for stuff that isn't in your hand or deck.
Now you pretty much have to run Ghost w/ Scream>Kingpin, which works, but is a necessary play in a deck where you need to be moving things in as many rounds as possible (and turn 3 is big in these decks).
I wouldn't consider this a Scream nerf, it's just one interaction. I didn't expect it, but I appreciate the buff to three power. The White Widow clog nerf was much needed, though. The playstyle was way too oppressive.
The White Widow nerf is fine, she sucks now that’s what they wanted. Just inform the players before the cache and it would have been okay. No harm done. The players could have made an informed decision but to cash grab the week before is a scam.
White widow is the definition of power creep. Lizard is a 2/5 that becomes a 2/1 when the location is filled. WW on the other hand is a 2/5 that becomes a 2/2 when the location is filled, and clogs and disrupts potential combos. Now it's a 2/6 that becomes a 2/2 when 3 out of 4 spots are filled. Lizard is just absolutely useless now
3/4 is a great stat line anyways, for paring with the ability I mean. I loved using that card since its buff, but it just felt right that it was nerfed this patch
I dont think scream really got hurt that badly from this. Juggernaut wasnt so incredible that he made the deck work or anything. Her deck still needs buffs because you still just lose if you dont have scream, but saying she's dead is a bit much.
This is the reason I love Alex and he's the only Marvel Snap TH-camr I follow, he's not afraid to point out and criticize Second Dinner whenever they do something like nerf a card that was just released and people spent resources on it, just to get worse almost immediately. He even gets worked up sometimes, like me lol.
Widow was way too oppressive for a 2 drop, clogs your opponent and effectively a 2 cost 5 power card that forces your opponent to clog one lane to get rid of the negative power. Nerf is justified.
Flip-flopping on the adjustments with minimal changes to find the perfect balance is so much better than nerfing a card to the ground only for them to not touch it again so let's be appreciative to SD's efforts here
I feel like second dinner are really trashy with there buffs and nerfs white widow hasn't long dropped out the spotlight week and now they nerf her after ppl would have rolled for her, it's not the first time they've done this either they did it with nocturne not long back aswel! They like to buff cards when they're coming up and then nerf when they've passed, I love snap but these last few OTA updates have started to really put me off
Gotta love how they had Widow in spotlights was excited to finally get it then nerf her to death shortly after. No wonder I haven’t played Snap since PKMN Pocket softlaunced yikes!
I have collection level 1400. I got polaris, juggernaut, kingpin and spiderman from the season pass, so I got scream. Nerfed. But what pisses me the most is that the only other deck I had to play was junk because i bought white widow, bought viper and opened hood and debri. Now they straight up remove white widow from the deck. It isnt even a nerf, they straight up killed the card in the deck. I dont understand why didnt they make it simetrical with the mine being a 2 attack when full or whatever other decision that doesnt imply straight up removing the card. I never complain about nerfs in any other game, but with the way marvel snap approaches card openings this feel fucking horrible
@BetarayBillLover My first and only Infinity Avatar winning deck with Havok, Goose and Darkhawk using turn 3 Havok with Zabu will never work again though :( (They nerfed Hawk to 5-cost literally the same day I won the avatar XD)
2nd Dinner needs to truly implement play testing and at least a 30 day card guarantee to not alter cards after release. Also, implement community polls regarding archetype modifications. Some cards are getting destroyed for no reason.
@Ucey365 Ok but if the original version of Alioth had been in the game for 30 days there literally wouldn't be a playerbase anymore, and if Hydra Bob was a 1/4 for 30 days his release would have been completely flat. I think the guarantee would be a bad idea.
I'm kind of bummed about these changes I was super late to the White Widow party only getting her on the Scarlet Spider spotlight week after being on the other end of her BS for ages and Scream I got like 4 days ago. I won't say the changes don't make sense, but the feeling of getting new toys to play with and they immediately get smashed is just annoying especially given the long term planning you have to do with stockpiling keys. I'm all for buffing or nerfing things that need it and sometimes quickly if they are oppressive or laughably underpowered, but White Widow existed at that level for ages and the Scream archetype was strong, but far from a problem. IMO any card that is in a spotlight cache shouldn't get nerfed for atleast a month afterwards unless it's a big issue negatively effecting player experience and like Alex said it makes zero sense that they didn't playtest the Jugg + Scream/Kingpin interactions beforehand.
Ngl, i prefer prebuff Zabu. Old version was usable at least somewhere(as second paylock for mr Negative or Wiccan for example), but new one barely has place anywhere imo.
I was going to use tokens to get Blink to make my Hela deck stronger? But with the Hell Cow hit... I'm not sure what to spend tokens on... keen for anyone's reccomendations!

white widow still has a place in jean grey. gonna still hit very hard when you combo her into jean grey, or red guardian if youre using both which isnt too uncommon for jean grey
I appreciate the Scream commentary, I started playing a lot again starting last season in anticipation for this season (big fan of symbiotes). Being a move player too, Scream was my most anticipated card. Not fun to see that they killed Scream's biggest synergies very quickly. I wish they took power away from Scream and removed the "once per turn" note, personally. I understand that's a different can of worms though.
@handwichesArt I think it would be better to keep the 'per turn' and increase the amount of power she steals. That way she would continue to be different enough to Kingpin to feel like a unique card (this is also why they made her affect all locations instead of giving her more power and restricting her to 1 location).
In the current form, WW is a series 5 card that went from tier 1 straight to tier 4. Nobody will play her because she is just a 2/2 that forced the opponent to play in a line or to win that line with 1 card. Junk card atm, but really hope they will reduce her cost to 1 similar with ZABU.
"spent 7 keys for Scream because im an idiot" I spent 8 keys on the Arishem week cause all those variants were amazing, was fun The Widows kiss are still kind of annoying. If a second kiss fills a lane then only the first goes off, so its still kinda controlling but much more manageable
Alex you were absolutely right regarding Scream. Same situation, I spent 5 keys just to get the variant for what? So one week later and the whole deck (Which is not that strong) to be nerfed! You said it all man. Anyways, love your content keep going
@@94jmbottaro Really? For me it didn't feel that way. The deck carried me from 70 to 99.6 tho (Then I started to lose like crazy and had to use another deck) But on games I didn't draw Scream early, the deck didn't do much.
Damn I know clog was annoying, but I’ve spend the last couple of months and my gold on trying to build a clog deck, now my widow is worhless, -6000 tokens I guess
They should just make hulkling only be able to hit 6-costs with 12 or less power so that it will exclude all the cards with bad effects such as giganto, destroyer, or infinaut
I think he should copy a random 5-cost card instead of a random 6-cost card, as pretty much all of the 5-costs have really good effects and the ones that are bad (mainly Aero and Annihilus) wouldn't completely ruin the card like Destoryer does.
I'm wouldn't say I'm disappointed by the move nerf since I do think it maintains the consistency of the game, and we know that impacting unrevealed cards can be an incredibly powerful play. But I nonetheless think it's a major blunder for the reasons Alex highlighted. If this interaction had been effectively tested and the change made prior to Scream's release nobody would have been complaining because Scream decks would've been designed with that in mind and people could've made their decisions to get or pass her with that information in mind. All the devs have done here is make it look like they don't test their new cards at all and earned the ire of people who spent their hard-earned resources on a card which now faces a significant drop in viability. Personally I'm breathing a sigh of relief that I didn't roll for her, but man do I feel bad for those folks who did.
Just change Juggernaut's text to "At the next turn end, randomly move away enemy cards the opponent played here this turn". He is the ONLY card that moves unrevealed cards and it seems SecondDiner has a personal gripe with him, at this point why change every move combo to exclude Juggernaut instead of adjusting him to fit the archetype?
guys, scream and kingpin are still viable in mobster move only juggernaut is less viable, and you just need to throw priority to get it now (easy enough if you play scream turn 2)
The absolutely demolished WW. She’s literally anti-clog now. I think even a 2/2 statline with a widow’s kiss at 0 power, basically a rock, would have been much better than this. I just can’t use her in clog anymore.
idk why people are saying scream is dead? it literally just won't affect unrevealed cards. it's a very very small change lol i still play it like usual
Okoye -- could I suggest a different kind of change>?> 2/-2 Give Every Card in your Deck +1 power. Then you could destroy it or send it over with viper or anni. Could could cook with it!!
The Scream/KingPin nerf just hurts.. its a good card, its fun, and now after 1 week they heavily nerf it? This kills the archetype so I hope they realise and undo it. I'd much rather scream be a 2/0 and we had the same effect
@theguy-r9t It's really not a 2-card combo though, because White Widow + Armour is also a really nice package that can catch your opponent for an easy clog and is excellent to counter Destroy. She also has synergy with cards like Lizard, Jean Gray and Nebula to encourage you opponent to play elsewhere (or Storm / Proffessor X to stop them completely), and the Guardians of the Galaxy work well with her too. I think she can still find a good home somewhere as she is, and likely in a deck that needs the extra card (unlike clog, which really doesn't).

They need a refund token system. Nerfing cards so hard in a game that you spit blood to get a new card is terrible.
An ability like Vipers with premium stats is pretty wild. Zero problems with it going down to a 4 power lol.
She also works really well with Red Guardian, which is interesting
I've been patiently waiting for Kingpin to be semi viable. And the moment the card gets there they gut it. I'm dissapointed they are focused on cards that are JUST getting their day in the sun. Meanwhile, decks that have dominated for years are largely unchanged.
It's because the cards are cheap/free. Can't have a deck with free cards at the top of the meta, can we? Poors shouldn't be able to compete.
@@Osmium2626 Scream is very free.
@@Osmium2626 Hela is extremely f2p and is currently the most played deck in the game...
@emmettbachran13 I agree. But also. I really really dislike playing a Hela deck.
@@Osmium2626 I'm not even f2p. I took a few months off and got completely buried by new cards again.
I love that thematically Zabu is a Kazar card now. (Doesn’t mean that’s the route) Zabu helps Kazar and Kazar buffs Zabu. Now give me 2 energy Active Shanna
You being reminded of the -0.46 cube rate on Hulkling and stopping in your tracks for a chuckle was hilarious
Zabu for what’s in your deck. Psylocke for what’s in your hand. Covered.
Got Grandmaster yesterday as a random series 4/5 card, perfect timing.
The White Widow nerf is fine, she sucks now that’s what they wanted. Just inform the players before the cache and it would have been okay. No harm done. The players could have made an informed decision but to cash grab the week before is a scam.
Hey, I’ve seen this one
:C fixed a typo
@@AlexanderCoccia sounds like I gotta reLike the video then

White widow is the definition of power creep. Lizard is a 2/5 that becomes a 2/1 when the location is filled. WW on the other hand is a 2/5 that becomes a 2/2 when the location is filled, and clogs and disrupts potential combos. Now it's a 2/6 that becomes a 2/2 when 3 out of 4 spots are filled. Lizard is just absolutely useless now
Useless in high ranks, but he’s just a beginner card, like he was designed to be…
@@LoganDash Ideally, all cards must feel like it can be useable whatever your rank is. Ironman is a good example.
Ongoing deck... Luke Cage/Spectrum Lizard is 2/7
Viper has been too good for 3 months now. I'm surprised she remained a 3-5 this long. 3-3 would've been fine with me. Still a great card.
For real, she is really, really strong
Facts
3/4 is a great stat line anyways, for paring with the ability I mean. I loved using that card since its buff, but it just felt right that it was nerfed this patch
I dont think scream really got hurt that badly from this. Juggernaut wasnt so incredible that he made the deck work or anything. Her deck still needs buffs because you still just lose if you dont have scream, but saying she's dead is a bit much.
Yea but if you have scream you instantly snap and win. Its way more fair now
This is the reason I love Alex and he's the only Marvel Snap TH-camr I follow, he's not afraid to point out and criticize Second Dinner whenever they do something like nerf a card that was just released and people spent resources on it, just to get worse almost immediately. He even gets worked up sometimes, like me lol.
RIP my 6k tokens I just spent last night. White widow nerf is devastating since I do not have red guardian
Kingpin should be a 1-0. And change location to Fisk Tower, when played.
@@wolferine2471 That would be cool, but 0 power seems weird. I think a 2/3 might make more sense for that, but it's a really cool idea!
Ok, that’s an interesting ability change! A 1/0 stat line is a little overkill, change it to a 2/2 at least
damn that widow nerf really sucks
Right when I upgraded my card to have Gold 😢😭
It was the best 2 cost in the game. Made too many cards irrelevant. Just play Red Guardians or Armor.
So does Juggernaught, Scream, Kingpin nerf.
Widow was way too oppressive for a 2 drop, clogs your opponent and effectively a 2 cost 5 power card that forces your opponent to clog one lane to get rid of the negative power. Nerf is justified.
@@DarkandWeirdyep. This OTA was bad. Junk got nerfed which is fine but I wished WW wasn’t the card that had to die
Flip-flopping on the adjustments with minimal changes to find the perfect balance is so much better than nerfing a card to the ground only for them to not touch it again so let's be appreciative to SD's efforts here
are we getting top 10 decks otw this week alex? i am anxious to see the line ups
I feel like second dinner are really trashy with there buffs and nerfs white widow hasn't long dropped out the spotlight week and now they nerf her after ppl would have rolled for her, it's not the first time they've done this either they did it with nocturne not long back aswel! They like to buff cards when they're coming up and then nerf when they've passed,
I love snap but these last few OTA updates have started to really put me off
Whew, I knew Scream will get a hit on top of being in a very fragile shell, one of the first times where I narrowly escape a heavy nerf
Did he get nerfed?
@@cefipime7039 Yes, she got a massive nerf. Watch the video and support this great man

Gotta love how they had Widow in spotlights was excited to finally get it then nerf her to death shortly after. No wonder I haven’t played Snap since PKMN Pocket softlaunced yikes!
Too bad Scream decks are dead now. It was a decent deck. I think they need more cards like it to help the archetype now.
It’s not dead bro, it’s still good
Dead? Scream got a buff
It's still good overall, but Stegron in particular strikes me as a card that needs a buff; they should give him some form of targeting mechanism.
@@adamlfa4546 People are overreacting as if the card isn’t getting +4 power a turn, it’s insane 😂
Once again just spent keys in WW and Scream…. I get white widow being nerfed but this made it near useless
I literally spent 4 keys to get Scream and this OTA just broke my heart...
I shall re instate my comment, excited too try zabu in a old school mid range zabu ray bill and see if it can still work without darkhawk
LOL sorry
@@AlexanderCoccia no need too be sorry
Zabu in my Namora deck with Wong, Shuri , SS and SSM is really working.
@BetarayBillLover My first and only Infinity Avatar winning deck with Havok, Goose and Darkhawk using turn 3 Havok with Zabu will never work again though :(
(They nerfed Hawk to 5-cost literally the same day I won the avatar XD)
Alex, Rambo here, I just got to infinite with a Scarlett Namora deck. Namora is about to be awesome with junk going down some.
Yelana doesn't only work with her daddy. There are some people trying to cope by running armour in their clog decks.
I'm so sad about the white widow nerf. loved the card and how I could plug and play it in almost any deck.
Best video title ever. 100% honest. I love it

"spent 7 keys for Scream because im an idiot" I spent 8 keys on the Arishem week cause all those variants were amazing, was fun
The Widows kiss are still kind of annoying. If a second kiss fills a lane then only the first goes off, so its still kinda controlling but much more manageable
Honestly glad Viper got nerfed. Really good and frustrating. Still a good card tho.

6:43 several months passed already, its fine. Clog is not a fun thing to be popular in the game, it is absolutely deserved.
Recently acquired White Widow with tokens. Asked myself why when i knew it was getting nerfed. Because i like to suffer.
I love this OTA. Grandmaster into Valkyrie in C3 is god-tier.
WOOOO!!! I Really Wanted Scream and very nearly dropped 6k tokens on it just to get into the new playstyle... DODGED a freaking bullet!!!! Woohoooo!!!
You never know if they plan to revert anything and then you won't see Scream for another 6 months or more.
I really DO not think that developers actually know what they are doing or if they actually play their own game.
Personally I'm breathing a sigh of relief that I didn't roll for her, but man do I feel bad for those folks who did.
the lowercase title posted by alex coccia caught me off guard LOL
Zabu is now probably the strongest 1 drop in the game.
Thanks for the video and the information.
Just change Juggernaut's text to "At the next turn end, randomly move away enemy cards the opponent played here this turn". He is the ONLY card that moves unrevealed cards and it seems SecondDiner has a personal gripe with him, at this point why change every move combo to exclude Juggernaut instead of adjusting him to fit the archetype?
guys, scream and kingpin are still viable in mobster move
only juggernaut is less viable, and you just need to throw priority to get it now (easy enough if you play scream turn 2)
Cozy brought the guns out for his vid Alex you're over there comfy
So, I got lucky because I got scream on my first key but how can you nerf a deck that isn’t even that much of a big deal ? I believe it’s crazy
You didn't say "bullshit" once, props.
The absolutely demolished WW. She’s literally anti-clog now. I think even a 2/2 statline with a widow’s kiss at 0 power, basically a rock, would have been much better than this. I just can’t use her in clog anymore.
The title of this video is spot on
Armor on the widow’s kiss :)
This is the way
This company keeps giving its customers the middle finger. You spend resources and then they nerf cards and make changes and it makes things worse
idk why people are saying scream is dead? it literally just won't affect unrevealed cards. it's a very very small change lol i still play it like usual
I do appreciate the occasional Grand Master
Zabu is interesting buff but man that scream nerf hurts.. so does the fact they ruined that whole ark type and it wasn't even making big meta numbers
The more I play the more I like alex's comments on the OTAs
Okoye -- could I suggest a different kind of change>?> 2/-2 Give Every Card in your Deck +1 power. Then you could destroy it or send it over with viper or anni. Could could cook with it!!
That'd make your Hood and Goblins weaker though, which is a bit too much negative synergy. I think her being a 1/1 would probably be more sensible.
@@GigaBrainGaming.Sm4rtyeah so she wouldn’t go in a standard deck it would be a new brew

white widow nerf is tragic, the kiss nerf is understandable, but not buffing widow herself is lazy.
The Scream/KingPin nerf just hurts.. its a good card, its fun, and now after 1 week they heavily nerf it? This kills the archetype so I hope they realise and undo it. I'd much rather scream be a 2/0 and we had the same effect
White Widow guarantees a Cannonball hit as well.
Phastos Misery can get you 7 power angels flying in and is actually pretty strong. No this is not propaganda
The viper power change means nothing. Her text change made her relevant.
Hulkling just replaces original Hulk in non Evo decks, if there are any, RIP base Hulk
They should have buffed WW power and at least make it a 2/4. I honestly never found clog that bad so I never got the hate for it.
Ww into red guardian is extremely powerful now. Kiss is -6 with red guardian hitting it
@@marcok.1214 Yes but now it is a two card play in one lane for that type of payout. Maybe 2/4 is too much but a 2/3 is not unreasonable.
Unpopular Opinion: Anything that nerfs negative locations in Snap is a win.
The way things are going, I can’t wait for toxin to get a buff lol
