- I explain why I think the Nikon Nikkor 135mm 1.8 Plena is great for more than just portraits.

Thank you. It is a magnificent lens.
I do sports photojournalism and used the Plena for a recent horse race and indoors for basketball. I have an extension tube and use it for my flower work. For landscape photography I use it for massively detailed panoramas, so, yah. 👍🏾
It is an amazing lens. I just shot some birds in flight with it at 1.8 on the Z8 and it worked great. I’ll be doing a video on that soon. Thanks for watching and your comments.
Like you said, the longer the lens at minimum gives better out of focus backgrounds., Still shooting D810 here when not using the 105 MC G lens, I use the 70-200 VRII or (200-500-usually out looking for birds) 7 the 70-200 at the 4' min focus distance especially at 2.8 goes way shallow for flowers. I want to get some extension tubes for this very reason. I live pretty close to Sandy Hook, go there quite often & guesssing you took the flower photos up at Officers Row in 2023. Happy shooting.
