way too much flicking of the video... having said that as nice as it looks cocky lake is stuffed, having lived in naracoorte since 1970, years ago back in the70s and 80s and even early 90s cocky lake was super popular and was pretty much a permanent water lake with it's level rising and falling yearly rarely below the concrete on the boat ramp, drying up only a few of times over 25yrs. it was a popular ski lake and yielded huge amounts of yabbies with people not just camped in the main area where you were but around the western and northern edge as well through an access gate on the southern side. in the early 80s some arsewipe bought invasive water weed in with their ski boat which eventually took over and ruined the lake for skiing. the lake was supplied with water annually by water from properties to the east and over the border and over flow went down a drain to the west. now the lake is dry more often than not because of annual inflow water being diverted and hogged by greedy farmers upstream and rarely gets to the lake in any decent quantity. an exceptional year rainfall wise will still get enough water down to fill it and make it good for a while. even so its a nice out of the way quiet private spot to camp and best of all its free.
camped there 2016 on the other side, no water then
