I like your review. The game looks like one I'll really enjoy. DT said it was approved but Tom said it was themeless and that the lack of theme kept it from being excellent. I don't know what it is with me, I do love theme in games, however, if the game is awesome, who cares? I feel like the players bring the theme as they play a game while embracing its story. I feel like I may be missing something or I may not truly understand the theme concept. I always, always "feel" the theme in Lord's of Waterdeep but I've heard it doesn't have one. What am I missing? If the gameplay is excellent and pulls me in, then I feel theme. Anyways, this game looks cool.
you're probably just a bit more like me in that you're ready to use your imagination to fill in the gaps, while others need the theme REALLY STRONGLY slathered all over the game to "feel it" :)
What's the factor involved in when you release a review video? I notice this video is from October but the game doesn't come out until June, and it wasn't a Kickstarter. That's 3/4 of a year later! Hard to stay hyped for that long, so I'm curious.
oh right, yes! okay, i went back and checked me email history and they did talk to me about that one too, but they reckoned we wouldn't like it because the game is best suited for more than 2 players because it features negotiation
i make goofs all the time, but i wouldn't say there's an iconography issue, i was just an idiot. $ is very clearly rectangular bills, and points are round circles, something just went wrong with my brain while filming :)
@@rahdo Which is funny because that WAS the goof :) Circles = coins (money) and rectangles = points. I can definitely see the confusion since they do sort of look like bills... Great review, as always!!!

the game came out at essen spiel in germany in october, so this was to coincide with that :)

I dont immediately like the stark art direction of the game. Did you think the iconography was unclear since you made some goofs?
