I swear I said the same thing. This puts the Dynamax King to shame
If we think about it, Kieran is absolutly right on 1 point : our character in this game is insanely good at making friends wherever he goes. From the main story to the dlc, he manage to be friend with evryone he came accross. Even team star bosses, who were suppose to defend their base and reject any intruders ended up being our friends. Well with the only exception of Ortega at least.
No Ortega does end up becoming friends with Florian/Juliana, he's just a "tsundere" type of character
@@shuichisaihope398 You’re both right. The player’s greatest asset is making friends with all they meet, human and Pokémon alike. I’m not sure what everyone else thinks, but in my opinion, the player character’s greatest treasure is the friends they made on their many adventures.

after kieran pretty much throws them under the bus after the events of dlc1, after he treats a legendary pokemon as a weapon solely to beat them, after he nearly gets the three people who truly care about him after all he’s done killed and refuses to help clean up the mess he made until the player pleads for kieran’s help, despite the fact that kieran wanted them dead, they still had it in their heart to forgive him, no hesitation
the mcs of scarlet and violet are just a little ray of sunshine trying to brighten up everyone’s days, and must have felt really guilty blaming themselves for kieran’s transformation (even though hardly any of it was their fault, kieran did a lot things to himself and carmine certainly helped, but they must have been internally pleading carmine to just let them talk things out with him), forgiving kieran probably lifted a weight off their shoulders as well
i love this game sm
@@TheDunsparceGames He didn't throw us under the bus and he didn't refuse to help us. He was literally in shock and traumatized by the gravity of the situation. Also, how did he wanted us dead? That's stupid.
Kieran did do certain things on his own, but Carmine had a hand in setting it in motion, and the MCs got dragged into it and was forced to play along. Also, Briar didn't care about the situation or him, she ENCOURAGED it. She egged him on and almost got everyone killed because she was obsessed with the treasure.
Too many people blow it out proportion and make false interpretations of Kieran to fit a narrative because they think he acts like a main character when he's literally a young trainer that is represents most players.

I have a bit of a theory about the game's "lackluster" ending, and it sort of gave me a eureka moment about the game's writing being the way it is:
I just realized that the story of the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is a metanarrative schema about the nature of the player and the game - that the main protagonist will end up being the victor of the story, no matter what, because Pokémon as a franchise is about becoming the best trainer in the game. It feels like Kieran is supposed to be written as having gone insane around the Indigo Dusk due to him being aware of the power that the protagonist holds over the game's conclusion, which is why the story writers decided to have him not be possessed by Pecharunt - that wouldn't gel with the meaning of THToAZ's DLC as a whole. He literally wants to stop you from being the hero of the story so that you wouldn't finish the game as intended by the developers, to see himself as having as much agency over his character as yourself. Kieran accepts his fate at the end, frustrated but ultimately content with the fact that the player still sees him as a friend worth being around regardless.
The cross-time travel loop (butterfly effect, basically) reaffirms the game's overarching paradox in plain daylight, that the player character is simultaneously the villain and hero of ScVl, as it implies that you are responsible for one of Arven's parents dying during the Area Zero expedition that happended a decade prior to your move to Paldea, befriending your friend group in the process.
I am curious what you mean by it implying that the protagonist is responsible for the death. Could you explain that?
The White Book the protagonist gives the Professor in exchange for their Book contains all the details of Terrapalogs, Aera Zero Inderground and the professors’ plans and accomplishments. As such, it’s implied that the professor made the time machine from the plans in the white book…which only existed because the player gave them the white book in the first place

Kieran had it the worst out of anyone not only did he train as much as possible to become champion and get the title, He loses it as soon as he becomes one and doesn't get the Masterball as a memory of becoming one, Shouldn't have been a happy end with him and felt forced to have him feel happy for abit
Well, it’s a Pokémon game, of course it’ll have a happy ending. Beating him as champion snapped him out of it, but he still holds on to it at the end, even everyone lets him catch Terapagos because he really does deserve it. Even though you do end up catching it yourself, he did realize that his hard work was appreciated.
This whole adventure even made me feel a bit empathetic of how the writing is always shilling us at everyone else's expense. Everyone has a shit life in this game. Nemona is a lonely rich girl with family issues, Penny and her gang were bullied and had to basically become bullies to protect themselves, Arvan lost *both* his parents and now we *repeatedly* watch Kieran lose everything he ever dreamed of to us. I suddenly have this idea that Kieran is actually just a smaller Ghetsis. Who Ghetsis was like when he’s young. If we push Kieran ever further, he will become the second most evil Pokémon character ever. A second Ghetsis.
Considering how he has himself a hydra themed Pokémon, but it’s not a dark type, it looks goofy and have sweet related ability. Perhaps a showing of how even when Kieran is corrupted by his anger and jealousy, he’s still salvageable, and still has humanity in him.

@@a.x.x8184 Yeah, and Kieran is basically Ghetsis but younger, and if Ghetsis is redeemed by the player when he’s younger and prevented from falling further. If we destroy him even more, we may push really turn him into a second Ghetsis.
And also yeah. GIOvanni and Ghetsis are the only 2 actually evil bosses, or more like only 2 of the pure evil gang leaders. The others are either bad but actually has good intentions, dangerously foolish but still good, or just not even evil at all.
Hydreigon isn't inherently evil if its S/V Dex entries are anything to go by, though. It just became ferocious because people rejected it for its appearance - and if Pokémon Amie/Refresh/Camp/Picnic are anything to go by, it's actually very affectionate. It's also implied Ghetsis mistreated his own Hydreigon to the point it knows Frustration in B2/W2 and can use it at full power.
Considering how obsessed its Trainer was with achieving full strength, I was actually surprised Kieran's Hydrapple didn't know Frustration, or show any signs of having been forced to evolve for that matter. 9:08 tera energy was too much for even a Master Ball to handle its new form.
This is the second time a Master Ball was ineffective and broke.
When was the first
@TheArtzyAnimalProductions pokemon adventures the manga. Master Ball broke when trying to capture Dialga to stop the Space vs Time battle that can break the fabric of reality.
in the anime a Wishcahs ate a master ball
@giwrgospetrou1159difference is, the master ball situation in game was entirely plot forced, not even you can deny that fact.
@giwrgospetrou1159Bruh, them not doing it doesn’t make them any less “serious.” Let’s say they made it 99% effective in the next games. Great, you got what you wanted. Well now, 1% of people will fail their supposed fail-safe item. Sure, seasoned players can just reset, but a lot of children or newer players won’t know and they have just lost their one master ball to dumb luck. And even if you can reset, it’s an annoying and unnecessary step that you have to deal with to take another 99% success rate shot.
Might as well just keep it 100%, get it?
My jaw dropped seeing the Masterball break
After all these years, they still don't have voice actors in these cut scenes. I don't understand lol.
Me watching Kieran yell only for no sound to come out:
(15:47 for the timestamp)
The company is cheap, despite having tons of money
Omg I never noticed Kieran had tears in his eyes after calling for his help
0:57 Kieran’s giving me serious GOW Ragnarok Sindri vibes
I love how Terapagos is like trainer let us go on adventures and kieran is like nope
that thing is terrifying in its own way.
Tbh that baby steps Terapagos took towards us when it first saw us, and Keiran saw that, it just felt so personal for him. Like everything he did was so in vain, even this last chance blew up because of us.
Gary is a jerk
While Kiran says Nah I'd win
Finally we got cutscenes instead of black screen with text.
And yet, there are people complaining that there is too many cutscenes.
It is impossible to please Pokémon fans.
@@meteor9573 Of course people complain if the cutscenes is too much. You're playing a game not watching a movie but that doesn't mean you can get away by putting black screen with text "cough cough* planting carrot *cough cough*
P.S Can someone make a joke without people getting butthurt? Dang.
@@blameitondanny Woah, calm down...
I was not getting butthurt. I was agreeing with you.
I was just saying that people are complaining about The Indigo Disk having too many cutscenes, even though it doesn't really have that many cutscenes at all.
P.S.: Not only are Pokémon fans impossible to please, they also get angry even when someone agrees with them.
@@meteor9573 I'm sorry. I thought you're one of them lol. I just had an argument with one of those fans regarding the origin of paradox legendary beast.
@@blameitondanny It's cool. It's hard to differentiate fans and haters in this fanbase.
Also, if you don't mind me asking, could you tell me more about this argument you had?
Ngl. I thought Terapagos would be Giant level powerful but for what we have seen so far, that isnt the case... and it still isnt clear on how Paradox mons came from.
Yeah they never really explained paradoxe. Are they really from the future or just created by imagination.
@@geaarmel6764 Later on it's explained that Terapagos can move things through time and space, and the Paradox Pokemon come from alternate timelines. Though imo the imagination theory still made more sense, since the tera crystals could make seemingly any desire a reality. And the paradoxes we catch look different from the ones seen in the Scarlet/Violet Book and Occulture.
so we agree this pokemon not gonna make it to vgc
So, I like the characterization they were giving Kieran
but, they did really reveal terapagos, the big mystery treasure of this entire game, for the last 20 minutes of this DLC?
Don't know how to feel about that.
they are doing crossover marketing
terapagos joins party early not only in anime but also manga
@@DraceEmpressa valid point, but it’s a little sad.
that (arguably) the main consumption of Pokémon, the game, is getting the short end of the stick for terapagos.
@@supercyc10 because different market, i assume
Ogerpon is 100% female with feminine shape, it is in a sense a "waifu" pokemon aimed at horny middle aged men like tsareena, liligant, or pheromosa, working men who are not casual players, who are more likely to buy dlc, whale in gachas, collect hard, small yet expensive figurines instead of dolls, actually own consoles instead of just netflix subscription, with their own money.
Terapagos, meanwhile, is more adorable in the "for everyone" way like pikachu was, was aimed to kids to push their parents to buy the cute doll of the cute partner mon in anime/manga like pikachu was. pikachu wasn't that memorable in gameplay either, but in anime ohhh boyy
This this quite a few unanswered questions
This whole story involving Kieran is just him figuring out he’s not the main character.
On the plus seeing the Masterball fails has cheered me up after I stupidly used the free gift one by accident on an Exeggutor by cycling to fast through the balls while sleep depped 😅
Well technically it didn't fail it was destroyed. It caught Terapagos it just couldn't contain its true form.
I accidentally chucked my first master ball at a Rotom. I was so angry about that, but I guess it’s ok now. I now have 2.
@@athenaflautt4104 Alpha Sapphire, a sharpedo
Shield, magikarp.
It was shiny and from a raid battle, but still
@@theplaguegamer6216 Diamond, a Machoke.
There's one last crystal blocking the way about halfway down? Anyone know where its stellar battle is? I hear flapping and pokemon cries, but can't seem to find anything of value. I've tried coming down after getting the scarlet book back and everything
Theres a small path you can go through at the start of the swirl of crystals going down area which allows you to find a stella garchomp
Jotaro vs Dio moment,like this
That doesn’t really work in this case.
Kieran: Bring his Master ball
Terapagos: Can break Master ball apart
.
.
..
..
Terapagos: Oh? You're approching me? Instead of running away, you came right in front of me?
Kieran: I can't beat Roddy if I can't beat, and catch the sh!t out of you.
Tera: Ho ho! Then come closer, I'll break that ball you have!
(MENACING)
Terrapagos is so cute!
What’s the name of the ost that plays at 22:46?
The lack of voice acting kills it
Yeah, the over expressive animations with no voice acting to support it feels awkward.
I guess at some point the only thing that matters in Pokémon is it must have voice acting isn’t it ?
@@BergmitetheBlueandPointy0712 no, I'm okay with no voice acting in 2d. As characters become more expressive, in some moments like briar looking at the tera, it's empty without voice acting.
@@Dabrownman1812 I don’t mind TBH, but I guess Pokémon should never be 3D so people will not constantly complain the the games don’t have something they never even have.
2:32 come on, crystal gem!
15:35
I like that scene.
MC: That's my old buddy!!! 😎😎
Did they even explain the origin or Paradox Pokemon at all?
So Terapagos is literally not related to the time shananigans. Sada/Turo just used it to make the Time Machine.
nvm Terapagos actually DOES have Space/Time powers
Hint: go to the Kitakami Crystal Pool
