Can confirm I loved Berry Bish Bash as a kid XD Apparently I went before, but 2009 was the first time I remember going to Alton Towers as a young kid. Mostly Storybook Land, Mutiny Bay, and Cloud Cuckoo Land (I did love the cars, aquarium and wobble world, remember being scared of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride though lol). Excited to watch the 2010s retrospective next :)
I love the format of these videos, some of the best themepark content I've watched for a while - thanks for all the effort and research, I'll look forward to the 2010s!
Great video! I'm especially interested in the history of alton towers and there was things i wasn't even aware of while watching. Same goes for the rest of the series this was my favourite decade despite me not going until the 2010s, i liked alot of the additions that were made.
Hopefully air will get the refurbishment and treatment it needs and deserves. The ride has so much potential in my opinion. I find it very underrated and fun, just wish it was more intense like manta at SeaWorld mate 😁👍
@@coaster_dad The pretzel roll on Manta is so intense, it’s crazy the difference. Hopefully it gets some TLC soon 😊. Great video aswell mate. I’m looking forward to the pleasure beach videos in the week 😁👍
I didn't visit at all in this decade. Studying and working and having my first baby. I remember the adverts but it's just not for babies where as BPB is. Ha ha love the naked record lol.
So when they bringing back toyland tours? Charlie was a disappointment, it was just still figures with some movement and screens. i remember everyone would take their shoes off for air, probably because of the advert 😂
I found it better to stay and play adventure golf after park close, to allow all the cars from the car park to empty out and it was quicker to leave myself
Man the 2000s were an era to be alive. The advertising made everything seem so edgy. I like how loads of rides were just randomly sponsored by some big brand.

Glad it brought back some memories. 😀
I love the 2006 park advert!
Some of the old ones are great 😀

Thank you so much that means a lot. Glad you’re enjoying 😀
Fantastic series, think when it first opened the water park was cariba creek but it must have been short lived
Thank you
Thanks, I have not been to Alton Tower's since 2000 so it's good ti see what has been added :)
It's changed a fair bit since then 😁
@@coaster_dad Scary part is the fact it's 24 years ago, which is longer then the park was open before that.
Just discovered your channel and really enjoying the videos - thanks for the content - looking forward to more
Thank you. Lots more coming soon. Last two parts of this series and then a ton of vids from Florida where I’m filming just now 😀
That ad for Rita though, bold statements made 😂 I wasn't really there in this decade unfortunately, I think 2002 only.
It sure was 😂
Another great video really enjoyable format, looking forward to 2010s
Thank you. It’s out on Thursday 😀
Absolutely love this series!! Really interesting 😎
Thank you. I’m working on one for Thorpe Park which hopefully will be out in a few weeks 😀

Glad you enjoyed. I’m working on a similar series for Thorpe Park which I hope to have ready in the next week or two 😀
@@coaster_dad sounds interesting. can't wait!

Agreed. I’ve always liked it but after trying Manta it was clear it could be so much more

convert air to an LSM launch, would make it really exciting
Ha ha I like it 😂

No CBeebies back then 😉
Jesus the skyrides had more problems than prince Andrew 😂😂
😂😂😂
the ribeana attraction is still open as Justins Pieomatic Factory
Yeah a number of things were repurposed 🙂

Not a bad shout
the giant barney statue is in the hq building and its massive and terrifying
Ha ha don’t think I’ve noticed that one 🙈
Did I miss the bit about the Black Hole closing? 😢
I haven’t listed all the closures in the series. Mostly additions with a few references to closures.
First visited Alton Towers in 2003
Nice. Changed a little since then 😉

Different times huh 😀
If you live these videos and Alton towers comment and like
Does it count if I comment and like 😂
Ofc
You didn't miss anything with Submission - it was slow and not very thrilling, and was extremely uncomfortable to ride!
Yeah I heard that was the case. 🙈
Either way I would’ve liked to have ridden it. Maybe one day the park will get another inverter ride to take its place?
I mean they do seem to be leaning into nostalgia so maybe 🤷♂️
