I would be glad to help, but i am not familiar with model trains at all, i am an electronics engineer and youtube threw your video in my auto play. so i need a schematic to undestand the source, switching systems and loads.

I would thrilled to have your help. I was a Systems Engineer, Medical, Automation, Robotics, My MS was Applied Physics I knew how to define requirements then search for subassemblies to integrate to solve the problems and make the machine do the work. I built CT Scanners, Vision Guided Robotics Assembly and Secure Collaboration among other stuff, But all in the 1975 - 2015. Retired and have systems I need to build. I would happy to share the functional requirements type stuff and get you up to speed it very basic. I knew we will migrate to 15 VDC on the track eventually but so far today many of us still have 0 to 20 VAC on the track and that required rectifiers in the engine/tender. And DC motor conversion and modern csound boards and various triggers to fire the sound or the action we need. I want you to think about a Theme for your engine, because you need to have one. For example I have built Girly trains for young ladies, Sports Trains, Greek Trains, Lincoln Funeral trains, Several Corvette Trains, Oz train, Spy Train, and my latest project i have after the WiFi controller is a Snow Piercer train. We can add action, sounds, Lights all on the rails or around the track. I usually suggest a theme train on a 4 foot circle with the theme building in the center and stiff around the sides to support the theme. Look on my channel for the Greek Train its one of my favorites, I also have several Christmas trains I have made for folks, I hope to see you get an idea and let me help you put it together. Do you 3D Print? Frankly helping on the EE side would be awesome I have a lot of simple project needs to start with then we could work up to where ever you want to go. Dennis murpheyd@aol.com

@@DennisMurphey I will gladly help you with as much as i can on my limited free time, however i don't 3d print, but i may be able to design some boards for you on kicad. As for making a train for me, I am grateful for your offer however I am not interested much on model trains other than youtube, I have heard of a "red devil" (South African Class 26 4-8-4 No. 3450) a steam engine made in 1980s with insane efficiency and torque numbers that are outlandish. However these are things you spend a huge amount of time on, with care and art that simply can't be paid or be praised enough that i find it hard to ask you to build it just because i find it interesting. Don't build just for me, only if you find it interesting yourself, simply consider my comment a suggestion for one of your projects at most (I may consider this hobby/art in the future myself but at the time, i simply don't have the space or time). More on the topic of leaking voltage, try measuring voltage on the load first if you haven't done it already, as the input impendance of the voltmeter is very high, the rectifiers act as am detectors, or if your source is ac the capacitance of the swith in off position (Neutral) may allow some AC to pass. If it persists I will try to do more troubleshooting with you, i have experience on repairing cnc machines with weird glitches so I hope I can solve this problem for you, but i will need more an electrical digram.
If i decide to build a train one day I will consult your videos, and if i need further assistance, i am happy to get some more direct help from you.

dont know how to solve the leaking issue, but you should absolutely throw a cap on your rectifier to smooth out your voltage. you probably dont need to solve the leaking though. dont know exactly how the system works, but see if you are actually drawing any current. if no, then its not a problem. if yes, you are going to want to find a way to prevent it.

@@Alexander-yh3nw the system works as intended I may chasing ripples on the water, not a serious drain. Thanks for the input and watching. D
