My problem is when we scream for these people and find out they're here illegally why don't we put them on a bus and just immediately take him back to the border and drop them off rather than to give him a summons to appear in court which they're never going to do. Are there bad law enforcement officials? Yes there are. Are all of them bad? No they are not! Some people are just unhappy human beings and they are determined to share it with the world! P.S, If you dont respond to citizen question they will eventually let you go (even if your latino!) so they obviously dont care about the answer at all.

Christopher Knox said: "Your picking a fight with a civil servant doing there job"
This is false. The agents this person is talking about were not doing their jobs, they were violating a persons rights.
Agents here can only detain for 'brief questioning" and "any further detention or search must be based on [the greater showing of] consent or probable cause."
Once a driver indicates that he will not answer questions or consent to extend the detention or a search, then the only real option available to the agents are to quickly check for evidence of crime, such as contraband in plain view, and let him go if no evidence of crime is found.

Sigkim Hello Sigkim. Yes that does sound about right. Lately I have been working on Mt. Lemon re building (Framing) Cabins that burned down in that devastating fire about 7-8 years ago. Thankfully I haven't had to drive towards the 3 points area where I used to run into checkpoints, or other areas outside of Tucson where they have checkpoints.
There was this one time about 2 years ago when I drove to Kit Peak to go check out the Telescopes. I wasn't in a hurry, and no cars were behind me. So at the checkpoint I decided to have a little fun. As soon they started asking me questions I started speaking a little German to them instead of English, and the guy had this confused look on his face. He was probably thinking > What the hell do I do with this guy he doesn't speak English, and I don't speak German

It is time for the ACLU to address this issue. What the "permanent temporary" interior Border Patrol (BP) checkpoints do is prove that the BP is ineffectual at/along the border. Either the BP is effective at the border, in which case the interior checkpoints are unnecessary and excessive; or the BP at the border is ineffective, in which case it either needs to be strengthened (by returning the interior BP agents to the border), or it needs to be eliminated (since BP management has been playing this weasel game for so long that the BP bargaining unit has been enervated and emasculated). If anyone with brains and determination is reading this, make this an issue; perhaps a presidential issue for 2020.

Aaron, an Inland Checkpoint is NOT the same as a "Terry Stop" and has nothing to do with an illegal "search". The job of these agents is to catch ILLEGAL aliens, or those who refuse to ID as US CITIZENS. It amazes me how you think that the US has no immigration law, or doesn't ENFORCE immigration laws. You certainly have the right to refuse to say you are a US citizen, at which time you will be LEGALLY detained for AS LONG as it takes to determine your citizenship and it is ALL legal. It's very important to stand up for your rights, however, I did wish many of you who understand this, would also understand the importance of protecting your 2nd amendment rights. However you feel about firearms, you need to understand that RIGHT protects the other rights. If you give away that right, I assure you they will strip you of the rest. We used to just wave people through the checkpoint unless there was some obvious violation of law. Democrats didn’t like that most of the people getting arrested were of Mexican descent. The Democrats mandated via legislation and court cases that we harass everyone coming through the checkpoint. This problem isn’t going to get fixed by recording the peons. This problem is going to get fixed by voting for politicians that are not corrupt. Which essentially means never voting for Democrats.

The Supreme court has ruled on this already Martinez-Fuerte appealed his conviction, and the Government appealed the granting of the motions to suppress in the respective prosecutions of Jiminez-Garcia and of Guillen and Medrano-Barragan. [Footnote 4] The Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit consolidated the three appeals, which presented the common question whether routine stops and interrogations at checkpoints are consistent with the Fourth Amendment. [Footnote 5] The Court of Appeals held, with one judge dissenting, that these stops violated the Fourth Amendment, concluding that a stop for inquiry is constitutional only if the Border Patrol reasonably suspects the presence of illegal aliens on the basis of articulable facts. It reversed Martinez-Fuerte's conviction, and affirmed the orders to suppress in the other cases. 514 F.2d 308 (1975). We reverse and remand.
