Of all the videos I’ve watched regarding the pruning of wisteria this one shows the most common sense approach. By which I mean prune in July to seven nodes (7th month) etc. brilliant advice

Hello Fiona, I just discovered your channel, and I hope to find lots of informative and instructional videos. I am not much of a gardener, but my father always dreamed about a beautiful English style cottage. Life did not allow him to create one. Well he started, and it was beautiful, but he didn't have the courage to continue. Now that he's passed away, I am dedicating my garden to him. I hope I will create a beautiful garden.

I’ve just discovered you on You Tube and have loved watching all your inspiring videos, particularly the daphnes as I’ve just planted one! I live in West Berkshire but can’t wait to visit you 😊 Thank you for the wisteria pruning tips, I have a wisteria on my pergola which is a lot of work to prune in the winter so I’m very interested in the idea of a standard if I can possibly find room for one.

This landscape is a veritable Shangi-la for cats. Cats are constantly exploring and they don't want to be seen until they want your attention. Cats are experts at hiding and the best surveyors in the world. The place you have here is perfect for them.

Hi I am propagating cuttings from an established wisteria flowering profusely. Can you tell me if this will give me flowering climbers or if I need to buy grafted root stock of a flowering plant?
    Thanks

I have 2 Wisteria in big pots. The purple one has started to leaf(3rd of March) but the White one has not. You said the white ones flower later than the purple ones.. Does the same apply to budding and leafing? Thanks

Our hybrid “Snow Showers” flowers later than Wisteria sinensis but that does not mean that ALL white flowered hybrids flower later than all the purple ones. We have a purple cultivar called ‘Amethyst’ which flowers later than all our others. It just depends on the individual cultivar. Similarly some varieties come into leaf whilst flowering…. Others not until after, it just depends on the cultivar/variety you have

Thanks for your reply Fiona. The two Wisteria plants I have are Floribunda Shiro Noda which has not produced any foliage yet this year and Floribunda Domino which has been leafing for the last two weeks or so. Do you think the Shiro Noda should have begun producing leaves by now? All the best Síle@@GreenIslandGardensVideos

cute it to 7 node in July and cut again back to 2 node in February? Well…Instead of pruning it two times, Can I wait to prune it in February and cut it down to 2 node? I want to make it flower as it never did😢

No, this will not be nearly as effective. Leaving the long wispy growths make the plant look unruly as well.

Hello Fiona, Do you have a video on how to germinate silk wisteria brachybotrys Iko Yama Fuji seeds please ?
I inherited some seeds from my late mother ❤ Thought I'd give them go a for 2024. Howeveer there does not seem to be a decent video on this.
Let me know what you got

Hi there! No videos on germinating any kind of Wisteria. It is well known in the nursery trade that Wisteria grown from seeds are notoriously slow to start flowering- often taking up to 10 years from germination! We do wish you the best of luck with your seeds 💚
