You can check if a ps3 controller is OEM if you plug in the ps3 cable charger to the ps3 and then to the wall. An OEM charger will not have lights turn on unless the cable is connected to the ps3. A 3rd party controller will light up regardless of what it is plugged into.
@@jrob0021 another way to check is the select text on the controller above select button, the fake ones are centered more to the right while real ones are centered more to the left
Plus the complete look of the controller is a dead giveaway Jacob said u prolly won’t spot the knock off and I instantly said left one the almost spot on knockoffs just looks completely different then any oem ones plus oems are darker and aren’t that matte finish
To be fair, those plugs are easy to break. They're also used for PSUs on PS4, and batteries on Vita. I would know, because I broke my Vita battery connector once.
Both PS3 are real. One is a early model and one is late. Late models started to skimp on parts thats why it feels cheaper and lighter and clicks different.
In my opinion. The Sega Dreamcast was an underrated system. I only had a few games for it. Jedi power battles, Alone in the Dark, Mortal Kombat Gold and the sonic game featured in the kiosk.
For that PS5 fan power connector to have been ripped off the motherboard, the previous owner was tinkering with it in the first place. Always curious what those people were thinking. If they didn't have the know-how to fix electronics and/or some soldering skills, I cannot imagine why anyone would tear apart their console that far. Outside of installing a new m.2 nvme ssd, shouldn't be much reason to do a tear-down of your PS5. This was a good example of some troubleshooting and logic behind a quick repair, well done.
To clean the dust/pet hair. It can accumulate on the vent holes to the power supply (and heatsink fins) and cause it to overheat. But yeah, plenty of tear down tutorial videos that show the proper way without breaking things.
@@jubblybits6155Suppose that's another good reason to try and keep more expensive hardware higher up off the floor. I have pets that go throughout the house but they luckily avoid the entertainment centre.
@@Gerenocidiac I just bought a filter screen which covers the intake slots from amazon and fits around the middle black bezel. Hopefully it will catch the hair and dust and avoid the problem all together.
If the back usb ports on the ps5 are working just fine than it is most likely that one of the ears on the ribbon cable connecting the front usb ports to the motherboards are torn of. If you replace that cable which is around $17 you have a fully functioning ps5
For me I remember in the early 90’s at my local ‘Y’ they had SNES Super Mario World cabinet that we use to jump on after swim lessons waiting on pick up. 🙌🏾😎🤙🏾 I’m old as dirt.
Circuit City and JC Pennys at the mall had a kiosk with dreamcast and N64 it was amazing I hated that the newer generation of kids kinda ruined it by breaking stuff so now there are zero displays for kids and adults to play at stores. Loved the video.
The PS3 controllers might be OEM. The latest ones used slightly different materials, aren't glossy anymore and the stick click actually is different. I have one of the newer ones which came bundled with Little Big Planet 3.
Solder is much better for structural integrity than hot glue. Basically when the console heats up that hot glue is going to melt and with a bad solder job that plug is going to come loose again. If you used solder like it was from the factory the plug should hold far better because solder takes a lot more heat to melt than hot glue
OEM ps3 controller (and really any sony controller) is always notable having a very nuanced response in the joy sticks. Really remarkable almost no 3rd party controller can match the gradual amount of input intensity.. Esp in a world that routinely can do a proper 128 MIDI input lol
Back in the day,I've bought Dreamcast just to be able to play Code Veronica, because it was in first only Dreamcast exclusive, but unfortunatley, they went bankrupt and CV was realesed for PS2 years later.
I've always wondered how you make the ps5 controller so shiny from wearing it down as I play everyday and my controller still looks and plays like new?
@@jrob0021you should never use hot glue to fix a connector. That includes when you are able to get the pins soldered, but can’t get the mounting pins mounted with solder. Hot glue won’t work long term, which is what you should be worried about if you are going to resell a console to someone who won’t know how to fix an issue properly for themselves. A new port with properly soldered mounting pins, plus the solder connections to the newly scraped pads would make it solid. A hot glue fix that is more stable in ambient temps, will not stay that way under heavy load from the PS5. If you sold this to someone else already, then you should reach out. The fix is most likely not going to last very long.
Hot glue is not a good idea too soft and stretchy and its gonna get warm in there so it's also gonna get more soft I would've rather just used regular 2part epoxy would've been a lot more solid
the issue with ps3 controllers is there are several versions. one of wich is much more crap then the others, this one has no rumble motors and is much more lighter then one with them, im guessing it was a very budget friendly one. the other thing is. every time I come across a controller and open it the insides arnt like the last one I seen. Sony kept changing them lol
With all these truck loads of console's he buys Im now waiting for the Jacob gets buried under a truck load of xbox ps console's video from he's editor LOL obviously I'm joking 🤣
Would you rather buy a broken PS5 for $150, or a broken PS5 SLIM for $100?
ps5 slim
If I was a expert I would buy one and fix it
I rather buy a PS5 with all USB ports working! xD
ps5 and just fix it up and easy profit
I rather have an xbox series x. No overheating problems and cheaper to buy and the games are also cheaper

plugging into pc every controller lights up...
How does a person even break their PS5 like that? Why are they just ripping into the guts of their console without knowing what they're doing?
yes
No idea, when I disassemble something and reach a point where there is any resistance I just watch a video it's not hard
To be fair, those plugs are easy to break. They're also used for PSUs on PS4, and batteries on Vita. I would know, because I broke my Vita battery connector once.
Yeah I was thinking that, these things aren't even old and people are already finding ways of messing them up
He was probably trying to root the console

Who remembers who Jacob R used to film his consoles on his carpet 😭😭😭 old was gold. Love those days

Target still has Nintendo Switch kiosks. I am not sure if you have a Target where you live. It's similar to a Walmart but better.

WHERE'S THE YELLOW PS5????????? Stop click baiting....
That PS3 looks pretty clean. 👍
there was a gamecube at the mcdonalds by me with sonic heros in it when i was younger never saw any dreamcasts in stores
Love how his mii pfp looks nothing like him lol
It might be a good idea just to replace the Dreamcast shell instead of doing retrobrighting.
I do like it when you repair consoles but get them done so rarely
I picked up a ps2 too today with a ps1 harry Potter game, a ps2 one and lord of the rings ps2 for £20 ($25)
Seeing this PS5 hurts my soul this is absolutely nuts
That ribbon cable goes round the outside.
Round the outside?
Round the outside.
I love watching the broken ps5 videos but it also makes me sad because I don't have one also no cash to buy but im getting there
Let's go ahead. I think I've heard you say that thousands of times. Indian tech support scammers say that alot. Lol
Send that ps5 to tronics fix to replace the fan connector
Did you just not watch the video at all?

If this man says hot glue one more time ifstg.

I was able to tell between the ps2 controller. Any sony owner could tell the difference.
How do PS5's get in bad shape like that?
What do you do with all the consoles you buy? Do you donate them or sell them? Or do you have a warehouse to store all of them?
Would you like to buy ps4 for $600 it's the blue limited edition days of play with 6 games
What is the email address to see if you want to buys systems?
