- Title: I Bought a WRECKED Car off Copart...
In Todays video I take a HUGE risk. I bought a car off of the auction site Copart. This website usually specialises in previously written off cars, that you buy and fix and then usually sell. However, I bought a car that was broken and I have ZERO mechanical knowledge, so this little project will DEFINATLY not be easy... Stick around to find out!

Btw for the wing all you had to do was open the door, there was a bolt from there lol

By the time that is fixed and painted you could probably get a decent corsa vxr with no category for less money

That black pipe thats been rubbing against the a/c pump pulley is the aircon hose pipe

Cost yourself an extra £200 stamping on that headlight. They have ballasts and are coded to the car, if you bust them not only have to buy new ballasts then have to pay again to get recoded
If goin be a little kid and smash stuff do it when you have finished the build incase you need bits off the broken item
Thick af, don't you realise you just rip and bend things off what is the new part going to attach to
the part beside the hub is a drop link, you need one, plus probably lots of other bits. brake pipe will go to slave cylinder. youre gonna be busy

Try ad put some stand under the car incase the jack fail
The dipstick ? . Prefer BMW ? . THE DIPSTICK IN A BMW IS ALWAYS IN THE DRIVERS SEAT ! .
Looks like this car will be a good learning experience for you. In future though, think locally when buying, and forget the rip off delivery charges. Consider renting a trailer & collecting yourself, or if you're not old enough to rent or tow, get dad to do it - But you really need to work out costs before buying.
And like others here have said, forget the playing around & smashing things up, or at least keep those bits out of the videos.
And pipe wrenches are for plumbers, not for cars !

The bent metal bar is a drop link.
The suspension shock just needs unbolting from the top (3 bolts) then a bolt at the bottom where it attaches to the disc.

second hand damper/suspension leg, and a droplink, the side wing there is 2 bolts inside the door shut, two at the bottom of the wing, and 2 on the top where the bonnet shuts over it, then it slides off, just make sure the screw holes for the wing in the door shuts and bottom of the frame are straight as possible for a easy slide in bolt on job, obviously im no mechanic to say these things but correct me if im wrong, i like your content so i will leave a sub and have my notifications on for the next video!

Be careful with this engine mate, they suffer from piston melting, you can forge them but i dont think its worth the money and it will still have its problems, respect to you for buying it to learn!
Your first mistake was buying anything from copart your second mistake was buying a Vauxhall but your worst mistake was uploading a video on TH-cam about it 😂😅

Loads of people buy crash damaged cars from Copart and rebuild them as a buiness, which is fine but the lad is just having a go at it with no experience, as he says, the only thing i would do is not wreck anything you take off that's all

Check hinges on bonnet it should be ok. Its a drop link mate
Yes I realised that it’s more likely the hinges on the bonnet. Only issue is there’s quite a few scratches on it so it might be cheaper to get a new one. Not sure though still have to look into it
Never get 4 grand for vxr especially for a catted one
It’s the drop link gone, I know these cars inside out I’ve rebuilt over 15 of them dj me if you fancy a hand with it

The BMW has 300bhp and is about 1.5 tons, so bhp per ton is 200.
The Corsa has 190bhp and is about 1.1 tons so bhp per ton is about 173, so isn't far short of the BMW.
Should be a very fun car to drive once it is sorted.

You should do a compression test on the engine before you spend anymore money as the engines are shocking i have personally blown up 3 of these engines p4 melts often on these and also on forged versions because intake is shocking and stock injectors are at max limit from factory

This is no way a quick or cheap fix, iv repaired a few of these, so your best bet is strip it for parts…..it’s a long road ahead otherwise, an selling it on is going to be a ball ache

That is a terrible idea it looks like the chassis is bent. Sell it for spares and cut your losses. You will.need a professional to sort that out.
Also why a corsa they horrific crap! I suppose you drive a worse bm so what can be expected.
Also Armstrong is terrible
he has no chance of doing it right with no mechanical knowledge

@misslibby19 expensive way though and in this case it will be at least 3 or 4 times what it's worth. (It won't be easy to get on the road again or sell as it's a write off) the MOST scrutiny is really hard for insurance write-off cars.
Genuine question, I get this comment was just pure hate but where is this structural damage because apart from that tiny part that was bent I couldn’t find any. Cheers mate
@ItsCDB NO Hate at all my honest opinion of working and restoring classic cars for over 45 years. Obviously your vid doesn't show everything. However, I think you have miscalculated the task. I really suggest a professional looks at the body alignment with professional equipment. I hope it's fine otherwise you will have a very very expensive repair bill. Trust me I know .
