I remember my mom heard me listening to this song and she said, "Well he should probably hang out with the guys who sell records." And she walked away I started laughing haha.

Why are there so many people hating on Tim and Rob and Lars. Guys have been putting out consistently great records almost 20 years (Only 10 for Rob). Just chill out and listen to the song.
i dont know the guy, but "some of my friends sell records, some of my friends sell drugs" still applies to me in a general context as a father of two, there are people that call me when they pass the bar exam, and there are friends i get into fights with at the bar unfortunately.
I agree, he has to be recognized for all that and don't forget Tim also produced and played on Jimmy Cliff's album Rebirth in 2012, which was Best Reggae Album that year and effectively re-launched that man's career. Haters are just miserable shits that need to get a life.
wayy too many dislikes, its an old ass song people relax, and its a great one too. the quality isn't that good, the lyrics are simple and kinda repetitive but i still respect the fact they all managed to come together from different bands and mix lots of sounds together into one sick song. big ups !

Johann I don't where you live or are from But here in NYC we all get along with each other and listen to all kind of music Punks and Rappers are very much alike...both grew up porn and hate the fucked up world we live in.
Thank you very much, you are the only person on here that understands the lyrics to the song and what they mean, growing up I was a punk rocker as well and everybody lived in the city ghettos we were all poor and we got along because all of the black guys thought we were cool and interesting because we did our own thing and we weren't afraid of the hood

But to tell you the truth, i dont really know that much about punk, But a lot of my friends are into that kinda stuff, and have explained to me the different kinds of punk. I wish i could give you some more punk names, that were chill, but i cant.

Tim's vocals in most transplants tracks makes me think he recorded them in his parents house while they were trying to sleep lmao
Occasionally hear his old man in the background “ Timothy!!! Shut the fuck up!!!”
it doesn't matter if what genre your preference is , as long as you respect each other and you enjoy doing it . who cares. right?
Absolutely!

349 people dont know what good skate music is! and word up@boo yah tribe in the video!!! YESSSSS!!
I’ll genuinely consider it a good year of Transplants come back.

two different cultures came together in this music video! the hiphop culture and the punk rock culture. that sure would be an interesting party!!

Gangsters and Thugs
Gangsters and thugs
Criminals and hoods
Some of my friends sell records,
Some of my friends sell drugs
Gangsters and thugs
Criminals and hoods
Some of my friends sell records,
Some of my friends sell
Drugs
You stand by me, I stand by you
If there is a fight I'm the one to come to
Good and bad, times we've been through
You got my back and I got yours too
All of my life you are in my crew
I'd do anything for you
Beat someone black and blue
Black and blue and I'd do anything for you
Gangsters and thugs
Criminals and hoods
Some of my friends sell records,
Some of my friends sell drugs
Gangsters and thugs
Criminals and hoods
Some of my friends sell records,
Some of my friends sell drugs
Try to tell 'em leave us alone
Still ridin' with them fellas down that unknown road
There ain't no tellin, I told 'em before
Wouldn't listenin'
No more bitchin'
Leave 'em all on the floor
I know
This labels money
They take 'till it hurts
That's why I still got that nina,
And I still got that work
Tomorrow ain't promised
I'll smoke it today
The zone will run you five
And I'll be on my way
Gangsters and thugs
Criminals and hoods
Some of my friends sell records,
Some of my friends sell drugs
It's official, I'm destined to fail
I ain't tryin' to get yo case
I ain't got no money for bail
I'm hurt, I'm in the E.R. before New Year's Eve
Said there's nothing we can do so we suggest that you leave
Dirty G's joints, they don't give a damn
That's a brake, and I'm a scale, break it down in the ground
They said you came so close to losin' now I swear that's the truth
Same shit, different day, man I swear what's the use
It's a different day, with good intentions
I got dirty with two positions
I make a living ain't got no pension
For transcriptions for my life on tension
The world is mine, no limit I can do it
Every drama in life I've been through it
Even if I couldn't, I blew it
Regret nothin' I move on and say fuck you
Gangsters and thugs
Criminals and hoods
Some of my friends sell records, some of my friends sell drugs
Gangsters and thugs
