A lot of women hang around gay men to use them. Then turn around and talk about them when they're not around. My best friend is gay, I see him as a man, not for his sexuality or what he can do for me. Ugh
I'm not gay but as a black male I respect this cause on a whole black people get robbed of everything. He has a right to be upset. there should be more people like this.
Thank you so much. I have been saying the same thing about how she stole phrases from Kevin and Makael. Have you noticed how she says "Won't he do it". Makael used to say that all the time then she started saying it. Celebrities are using friendships with people in the gay community on their shows as if they are accessories like shoes and handbags and I'm over it.
"Gay in the box". Lmfaooo! And I remember when Tamar came for Mariah from Married to Medicine for talking like her. Mariah said she got her lingo from the gays. At least Mariah can admit where she got it from. Tamar would never give Makael credit for "have several seats".
I mean what's twitter. Say it on TV where you are famous for saying it on. That would have been a great segment to discuss where all the lingo must of us use today comes from.
Omg Justin, you are so right! I just was thinking about this the other day. There's a constant stereotype being portrayed of gay men. They are always being shown as part of the glam team. In reality there are lots of elite professional gay men. I had a a gay professor who was brilliant and he had a Ph.d in Neuroscience. I feel there needs to be other representations of your community. And yes Nene does do the same thing, a couple of episodes ago, she talking about her clothing line, and she was like "I don't do anything without a gay on my team" or something like that. It just showed how she can openly exploit them and I was offended by that statement but I didn't hear no gay people say nothing so I just kept quiet and wondered if it was just me lol. They definitely trying to put yall in a box. Oh and when is the last time these women went out and marched for gay rights?
I am so glad you brought this to light..i thought the same thing. I told my husband you know those 2 guys i listen to on youtube..thats their phrase..smh that woman is a mess inside and out.
Ima be real. I've been watching your videos so much I accidentally use your lingo from time to time like "I'm not featuring it." Or "I'm not here for it" but I do understand. I first heard terms like "read" no tea, no shade" on RuPaul's Drag Race. It kind of confused me when females started using it.
Yes!!! I found you through the scorpion show!! I'm going to definitely share this video! Everything you said is true, and I must say I'm guilty of wanting a gay guy as a friend. But my reasons are because they are fierce, funny, fabulous and just fun!!!!
And its not just gay vernacular/lingo, its also the fashion/clothes/style. I see Black straight men are wearing certain trends and styles that Black gay men originally wore and started.
I really want to know how Kevin and Makael feel about Tamar. Also who happened to her face? She used to look so nice during the first season of Braxton Family values but in the later seasons she started looking terrible.
I think they have a problem with it. Every now and then they will speak on things about her without saying her name. I don't know what made them think she was their friend. I mean look at how she treats her sisters.
mspenney3 Exactly. The way she treats her sisters is so fucked up. Especially Towanda and Tracey cause they used to always go back and forth with Tamar all over social media and on the show. But you notice how she wont ever raise her voice or talk crazy to Toni tho.
Sublime Samira you're right about Traci and Towanda. Traci is going to hit her one day cause she often looks like she wants to fight her. She doesn't raise her voice with Toni but she often think that Toni should apologize to her. Toni said I will never apologize. That show really blew her head up. It was those dang Tamartians. They viewed Towanda as being jealous. I know Towanda really doesn't have much going on but she was right.
mspenney3 I know right? Tamar always wants an apology from somebody but she rarely ever apologizes to anybody when she's the one who's being rude and disrespectful. Did you notice that when she was doing her music thing, she acted like she wanted to be Toni Braxton/Beyonce SO BADLY? At one point I thought she was having an identity crisis. And For her to stop being friends with Kevin because of that interview he did with K. Mitchell is so petty.
You went in and let have on this one! I have often been annoyed with these women who refer to us as "the gays" or "my judys" and they treat us like we're charming little imps they can wind up and catch phrases and snappy one-liners come out. Then, before you know it, they're out there using our vernacular. Many of those women that come out of Atlanta are REALLY guilty of this. Just watch "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" or "Married to Medicine"
Preach! !!!!! I always said that about nene. I hate that she says the words gays as if it is an occupation. It annoys me to no end. I am not going to act like I know the full history behind your anger but I appreciate the education. I do believe that with ignorance people don't know how to respond to different groups without education. We need more of this.
you went off for 40 days and 40 nights! You spoke the truth. I found out about you through The Skorpioin show and i must say... what you said in the video is the truth... hands down... you along with everyone else has the right to go off if yall want. Ya'll voices need to be heard and credit needs to be given. #respect
+Ashlynn Deloatch Justin!!! I have LIVED after this read!!! I promise you,the first time that I ever heard the words Shade Or Tea was in Paris Is Burning! They have taken all of the gay sayings that have been out (as you said) forever and have ran with it!Give credit were credit is due.I cant even with Tamar!
As outspoken as Kevin and Makael are about everything else, I'm surprised they haven't tried to sue her or be more vocal about it on their show. I can understand wanting to be professional but she can see they work hard and didn't need anyone but each other to make their show. They are authentic & didn't deserve their tag lines being stolen for tv fame. Tamar and Nene should be best friends. They both don't get along with anyone and if they do it's never for long or just for show. They both have the same cut throat dominant & controlling personality and they both seem to have a love/hate relationship with the gays. I know Tamar ain't right just based on how she treats Toni, her other sisters, and her parents. Smh she better be glad she has Vince. Nene doesn't even get along or respect Andy.
Yet these are the type of women Andy likes... When Tamar was on WWHL he told her that she was the only Braxton that matters and he got mad at Snoop Dogg for putting a picture up of her with noodles on her head. He captioned it....IN JESUS NAME WE PRAY!! He labeled him the jack hole of the night. I don't think Kevin and Makael are willing to take those measures. They are trying to keep things cordial with her. And according to Towanda, Vince ain't got it like Tamar tries to make it seem. Tamar isn't a real person. All that we see on the screen is a character that she made and her fans enabled. She can't handle K Michele, which is why she fell out with Kevin and Makael.
"I don't have to wish in a Katy Perry Star" lmao U went in so hard I started to do the Makael Church stomp and I don't even go to church lmaooooo.xoxo I just subscribed
Sistas use our gay brothas for their style and language, but when the cameras roll they get thrown behind the scenes, unless it's time to play assistant, slave, or makeup artist. I've always said this and it's really sad to see this within our own culture.
Justin...you on point & I agree with what you said 100%.. Eventhou I'm not gay..I told my Lil cousin who is the same damn thang..Its irks my nerves hearing them talk..They want bite off the lingo..but be the main ones key key'n & yass behind their back llh..
Yes yes yes. On one side they say yassss girl. But on the flip they say they're going to hell. Mind you they don't condemn cheating and other things. That the bible prohibits.
Yep. These same women hollering about what's a sin and who's going to Hell, but steady having premarital sex and children out of wedlock, like they forgot that their bible calls these children "bastards", and the women and men who produce them "heathens" who will also be condemned to hell. I'm not Christian, but I was sent to Sunday School as a child. I remember being taught about sins. I don't live by Christian idiogy, but those who claim to need to act accordingly or shut their hypocrytical asses up.
Great Video 1st of all, 2nd Im a Chick who lives in Philadelphia and I hear a lot of women use that slang but only with there gay friends or when talking about Gay males. Me and my Husband was sitting on a trolley and over heard some girls saying we need to get some gay friends, but what was weird was it seem like they were on the inter web shopping for gay male friends. Me and my husband was dumbfounded but come to find out it is more popular then anything. My girlfriend told me girl you need you a gay male friend in your life, then she said I know a few if you want to meet and go out. I was confused like seriously do women really Shop for gay male friends. It is sad I don't mind meeting new people but to make them like pets is B.S. And shopping basically for Gay Males is wrong. But it is very Common out here. I know I rambled a bit I was just telling you what I see and hear around here.
I am a straight woman and I agree with everything you saying, I just thought I was the only thinking it. I was watching the Skorpion show when they didn't interview celebrities and filming from living room saying have several seats, newsy, and yas hunny. So when I hear Celebs saying it on TV its annoys me too!
This is the first vid of yours that I have had the pleasure to see, and boi you got me. I gave up on that "pocket gay" BS so long ago. I don't know who this chick you are going in on is, I will find out soon, but she, and all the others like her, need someone to put them in their places.
So basically anytime a straight person uses a "gay" phrase we have to acknowledge the whole gay community???.... Please have several seats... You guys are taking things a bit to serious. P.s. Tamar I love you!!!!
OMG I love you Justin!! You went in and I am here for it!! I have always known where "her sayings" were coming from. I have been watching Kevin and Makael for years and I knew the moment she made her debut on our screens that she was going to use every single one of their phrases for her own benefit. It's sad they didn't trademark any of those sayings, but you never really expect people to use you to further their own agenda (especially someone you call a friend). Truth be told though, a good majority of these female entertainers use the gay community to "line their pockets," but no one ever calls them out on it (until now). She just happens to be the person that does it in such a blatant manner that you automatically know where it originated from (if you have always been a fan of the skorpion show).
Just wondering. How do you feel about Derek J and Miss Lawrence and their show "Fashion Queens"? I think they are both guilty of allowing themselves the be "carry-on gays" [TM - Justin J] Especially Miss Lawrence, who shows up to RHoATL events just to look oh so affected. I also think they got their own show just for being gay, because I've never seen either one of them ever wear anything that would remotely make me want to take fashion advice from them.
Omg. Finally finally finally somebody said something. I been watching theskorpionshow for years. I totally agree with wat u said. Ive noticed she used theres phrases in real husbands of Hollywood too. She did them so dirty....
Thank You!!! I'm always telling my friends and coworkers that "Have Several Seats" came from Makael of The Skorpion Show. He was saying that phrase way before the Braxton show first premiered. It's documented. I'm tempted to go through their videos and find when he first said it. I was over Tamar when she did that. And this is coming from another woman.
u r so right. I hate that show the Real. All of them r annoying n extra n get on my nerves...I never heard any of these sayings until America became more accepting of LGBT culture... and the first time I can remember even seeing anything that resembled a "read" was on To Wong Fu.... this channel has really opened my eyes and changed the way I view and treat the LGBT community. I think u r doing something really great Justin J
I most definetly agree with you im 30 and i been hearing my gay friends talk like this since we were kids! I thought i was the only one who felt this way about Tamar
U are so right Justin.....I have got some of my slang for all my gay friends...men especially slay, spill tea, catch it, she did that so many. My beasties Jeff. Told me a long time ago 06 that they had to make up their own language.
I'm a big fan of Kevin and Makael and the show for years. Thank you for that video. It's about time someone spoke the truth. Tamar is dead wrong for how she did them.
Thanks Justin for putting her on blast. Makael has been her uncompensated ghost writer for years. "Have Several Seats" is his baby, I mean damn he even had a Hall of Fame chart to go with it. Not sure why Makael has not gotten his coins from her. Better get one of those "Cease" disclaimers everyone is now getting so anythang out her mouth is a slot machine of coins 4 you.
Yeah Tamar did them dirty as hell. She's too extra, and its not needed. Tamar ain't here for nobody unless your one of her "yes-men". And for her to turn against them because they interviewed K-Michelle, Shows you how childish she is, and who needs a fake ass friend like that!! At the end of the day they were doing they job getting their money, its not like she was paying them.
I agree with this sentiment entirely. I feel that people are people and should be respected as such. As for the trends and terms, most of them are repeats of the previous generation. However, gay people are very influential and well-tuned. I noticed that when listening to Destiny's Child "Say My Name", I heard the term shady. I was like, was that inspiration for 'shade'? For me, I like gay people because they are positive, great listeners, polished, and builders of character. I have family members who are gay, men and women, and I wouldn't trade them for NOTHING. The LAUGHS, JOYS, and MEMORIES ARE TOO PRECIOUS. I met some stinkies before, especially with the comments and looks, but overall I had great experiences, especially with gay black men. I will admit that they are great for fashion advice and can piece an outfit together in a flash. It's like they have a trained eye. Also, they are great make-up gurus and know which colors best compliment the skin-tones. Now, I don't use them for those things, but I got to give CREDIT where it's DUE. However, I really like them for their personality, especially the ones at church. I like LAUGHING and you bet not go off-tune, lol. They may pass judgement from time to time, but will be that ear when you need it. In the past and today, I have been scared to approach them and speak to them on a friendship basis/ compliment them. So, I just stick to myself, but they should be respected as anyone else.
I agree with Justin 100% I wish Kevin and Makael could sue her. The Skorpion Show viewers knows Tamar jacked their catch phrases and passed them off as her own. It's ridiculous! I liked her when BFV first came on but now she has become a monster.
Lot's more than Tamar use gays tho. Nick Jonas, James Franco most guys with a great body who take their clothes off for "charity" calendars, female starlets and singers...and some big ones: Britney, Beyonce, Katy, Gaga, because they saw how it worked for Madonna and Cher, and know you get a ready-built fanbase when you say you just "love the gays" But I will agree that Tamar is especially guilty of cultural appropriation from gay culture. She's as bad as the very white, Austrailian Iggy Azalea and that fake "black" personality except most people aren't able to readily distinguish that Tamar is just mimicking gay people and siphoning gay culture at large.
I am a woman and I agree with you. This is why people need to pay for trademark, copyright, patent, etc. Tamar fell out with the Skorpion show so she should not use their phrases, but she still do. I thought I was the only one thought this way.
I'm a straight female, but I Live for the gay community and I absolutely agree with you 100 percent!. A lot of the gay slang is being used by the straight community now. It's not cool at all. Tamar ain't shit
I agree with you totally!!! The thing that bothers me the most is that's not her!!! Kevin and makael both said that personality you see on tv is not who she is in real life. Now if that is you, be you that's fine. But don't be putting on an act, it's not genuine or authentic!!!
I actually had to pause this to get my life back right quick. One minute in and I already had to pause. Jesus Justin was not playing. This V-Neck Roast deserves to be in the hall of fame along with Funky Dineva read of Sheree Witfield [however you spell that bitch name]. Jesus this is.....whew baby you did that. okay
But majority of TAMAR flowers are gays...... Why can't they stand up to her and boycott? The only reason I know her is HUGE fan of TONi I don't even know how they related
You're so right baby. The same one that agree with you will call you out of your name In a second. I wish someone would disrespect my gay friend in my face. They will get checked real quick.
Nothing is new under the sun. Everything is recycled. That's like saying Tina Turner would be pissed at Beyoncé for being inspired by her. I don't think it's in malice intent. Kevin and Makael didn't have a problem with Tamar using their lingo when they were cool, so why be mad now? The shade/ no shade game is played on the real all the time. It's just words, not even words that have significant meaning. I could understand if it was degrading words or something, but it's not.
I'm with you when you're right! I am sick of the shit too! And the sissies like Ms. Lawrence and Derek J think they're fab and better than people in our community because they're "featured" on these ratchet ass shows putting more coins in these women pockets than their own. It's really disgusting to see flamboyant behavior on a woman. Like really? Ugh! I'm disgusted by it all!
This is an interesting perspective (please don't attack me), but growing up religious I was always taught that (some) gay men imitate women. I actually was irritated about men who seem to only want to imitate the most hood, gutter, and basic characteristics of women. This is an interesting topic. What came first I wonder? You can go back to slavery and note the sassy mammy figures that were portrayed and displayed for mainstream consumption. Did women steal that? But as it was mentioned in this vid, there has always been a secret society (gay men) with their own language and euphemisms. I 100% agree with one statement. If you only call gay men when you want makeup and hair, then you're no better than ppl that only call blacks when they need their chicken fried right.
But weren't black gay men influenced by black women, mothers, grandmothers, and aunties? I don't understand how black gay men can say that we stole from them when perpetuate black female culture. Their terms were inspired by women. I do agree that black gays in general do need to get more exposure.
Let's just call it what it is. Justin he is on every single point on this video. People like Tamar been get away with this s*** for too long. He just call me like it is. I wish they they can sue her and get some money. Because it just ain't right how some people use gay men. They can do it all from the corporate office, from being a police, a judge , even a damn doctor. So stop try count them out.
A lot of women hang around gay men to use them. Then turn around and talk about them when they're not around. My best friend is gay, I see him as a man, not for his sexuality or what he can do for me. Ugh
I feel the same way. I have gay males that I'm close too and I would never use them
"I'm not no gay in a box" there's a t-shirt if ever i heard one x
Justin, trademark that saying, make some T-shirts and get your coins. :)
I WOULD BUY THAT SHIRT!!!!
Amen to that lol.
that comment had me GONEEE ngl 😭
I'm not gay but as a black male I respect this cause on a whole black people get robbed of everything. He has a right to be upset. there should be more people like this.

I mean what's twitter. Say it on TV where you are famous for saying it on. That would have been a great segment to discuss where all the lingo must of us use today comes from.
Nikaluvsya B. I agree - that would be an interesting segment.

I agree!
In reality, gay men run Hollywood so... Something is wrong somewhere.
Warnings: Bullets have been released. If this touches you, then you were the intended target.
LOL!
EXACTLY. Shots fired. Now watch whos gonna be bodied during the aftermath.
I'm telling you right now.. I'm using that.. Would you like me to give you credit for it when I do?
I am just seeing this comment. Actually, JustinJ said this phrase in a earlier video. So, I can not take credit. :)
+I aM You and me both!!! Lol..Lets hashtag it!
Yes!! I've recently watched Paris is Burning and those phrases like read and shade are centuries OLD. Tamar ain't made up nothing 😒
"I don't have to wish upon a Katy Perry star!" LMAO!!!!
I don't understand a lot of what you talk about, but you're so dynamic and entertaining it doesn't matter.
Lmao Justin said "I don't have to wish upon a Katy Perry star".....
GO OFF Justin... GO OFF.... Nothing but the TRUTH...
3:33 Justin is the king of predicting the future.
Justin done snapped again! Lol I love when he goes in on people who don't give credit to folk who originated different sayings.

This is the first vid of yours that I have had the pleasure to see, and boi you got me. I gave up on that "pocket gay" BS so long ago. I don't know who this chick you are going in on is, I will find out soon, but she, and all the others like her, need someone to put them in their places.
He's talking about Tamar Braxton, and apparently something she said on the show The Real.
He's talking about Tamar Braxton.
You said EVERYTHING that I feel! I re-watched this and had to clap the whole video...hell I damn near cut a step! I love your candor!
+Fashion Freq TV "Oh so affected"!!! I need time to recover!! Lol
Where is the clip from Tamar. I would like to watch it so I can fully understand what you are talking about.
I know right. I need the video to see Justin's point.
Any episode of any of her shows, "you tried it", "have several seats" ect ect. She legit at all times behaves like a drag queen.
Tamar used "Have Several Seats" on an episode of Real Husbands of Hollywood. As soon as she said, my mouth dropped. 😱😱😱
I feel your pain and Kevin and Makael should definitely have copyrighted their phrases. She did them dirty!
I agree with Justin 100%
I wish Kevin and Makael could sue her. The Skorpion Show viewers knows Tamar jacked their catch phrases and passed them off as her own. It's ridiculous! I liked her when BFV first came on but now she has become a monster.
"I don't have to wish! I know that shit is comin'!!!!" AMEN!!!!
the calm down at the end was everything
This!!!! It needed to be said! You are on point, Subscribed!
"They got some gay somewhere plugged up into some shi# sucking the reads outta them" I hollered! #Tears 😂😂😂😂😂
No lies here Justin! I agree with you!
Ya v-neck roast are epic!🙌🙌👏👏👏
Justin, I TOTALLY agree with you!!! "Uncle Tam" gave me all types of life :-) :-)
the calm down at the end tho lmaooo
That is exactly why I like Shahs of Sunset. The gay man on there gets his COINS and is secure in himself.
But don't be putting on an act, it's not genuine or authentic!!!
kevin and makel did not come up with lingo its been here for years when been using some of phases since the 80's
Originated is debatable true....but SHE got it from them....she's said she got it from Makael
I didn't say all of the lingo if you paid attention.
Have sit is old and it was used by straight and gay people
I actually had to pause this to get my life back right quick.
I feel the same way Toni Braxton it is nothing like her little sister her little sister is a b****
Nothing but TRUTH!!!
THIS IS EVERYTHING!!!! I live for Justinj1232
Love it Justin!! You're speaking facts!!
Love the beard first off now pressing play.
ikr!! I don't use those terms at all but those women do use them a lot.
You're so right baby. The same one that agree with you will call you out of your name In a second. I wish someone would disrespect my gay friend in my face. They will get checked real quick.
Justin you educated me.
I will go watch Paris is Burning I just saw the trailer.
"she can barley come up with a complete face…half the ish missing" OMG YOU GOT ME SCREAMING AT 7 AM Fly to hell justin omg love you
Justin J for President!
Had to subscribe after this truth was told. No lies detected here
So if you feel this way then MEN that act as US REAL WOMEN owe us some since they are trying to be one of us they owe us some recognition then smh
GO IN AND LET HAVE JUSTIN!! Cause you SHO right!
Jack in the Gay!
Gay in the Box!
This video was fabulous.
Thank you.
Damn Justin you went innnnnn !
I miss this king of reads
Nothing is new under the sun. Everything is recycled. That's like saying Tina Turner would be pissed at Beyoncé for being inspired by her. I don't think it's in malice intent. Kevin and Makael didn't have a problem with Tamar using their lingo when they were cool, so why be mad now? The shade/ no shade game is played on the real all the time. It's just words, not even words that have significant meaning. I could understand if it was degrading words or something, but it's not.
***** I don't know. I don't have time to keep up with that lingo. I just don't thin it's a big deal. They should all be using correct grammar anyway.
***** *think
k
Girl Bye lol
That's just my perspective.
straight women. use the hell out of gay me a lot lol
Blowing blizzards out tour fingernails...lmao
Tamar isn't the only one guilty of this.
Be careful in what you wish. Just be careful.
I was waiting for this!!!!!!!!!!
Wendy says it too lol
Wow Im the first to comment and view. Justin you are tooo funny enjoy watching your videos you always have me laughing!
I mean did y'all support when Ms J did the fashion show
I totally agree with this video.
I'm so late in knowing you but better late than never love what you do and I'll be sure to keep watching GOD bless
I do agree that black gays in general do need to get more exposure.
gohomescottie research is your friend
Let's just call it what it is. Justin he is on every single point on this video. People like Tamar been get away with this s*** for too long. He just call me like it is. I wish they they can sue her and get some money. Because it just ain't right how some people use gay men. They can do it all from the corporate office, from being a police, a judge , even a damn doctor. So stop try count them out.
You are not crazy you are real!!!! and we love you so much
Standing ovation!!!!!!!
