Callie is getting so big and she doesn't mind at all talking to the camera like she used to. I love watching her grow up. The twins are getting big too. They are so cute.
By the time my two sisters and I were 7-8-9 years old respectively, my parents hired us out as field workers to farmers picking strawberries, cherries, potatoes and onions. We loved it as the farmers wife always cooked us a great lunch. The pay went to the parents of course and it greatly helped our family of nine. Many children in Holland spent their summers working like this. Never heard one complaint. 😊
When I was younger the children in Maine also did the harvesting. Schools would start for 2 weeks and then close for harvesting. It's how the kids and parents were able to buy school supplies as well as the clothing that would be needed for winter. Children with only 12 to 16 months between them didn't always grow out of something in time for the next youngest to use. Not to mention that the boys and girls didn't have interchangeable shoes, boots, coats and clothing. In the spring we would harvest Fiddleheads, usually in late April. I remember it being around Easter time most years. There were only a few canning plants that would buy fresh picked fiddleheads if you could pick more than you or your mom could boil and freeze the same day, lol. Kids of today can't imagine not just telling their parents what they want and having it bought for them.
@@Jaynes-Path absolutely right, teaching kids a strong work ethic doesn't seem to be a priority for many of today's parents. Handing your kids everything is not the best way...imo of course... wouldn't wanna offend anyone! 😉
Here in California, you will not never see a Caucasian person in the field unless he is fixing a well or the owner of the farm driving around in his $100,000 Ford super duty
Working in the fields alongside your sisters not only helped your family but also created many cherished memories. The joy from the delicious lunches prepared by the farmers' wives likely fostered a special bond between you and the work. These memories not only demonstrate a strong work ethic but also illustrate the unity and love within your family. Furthermore, the fact that many children in the Netherlands shared similar experiences shows that this is a valuable part of the culture. Do you feel that these experiences helped shape the person you are today?
The fact that you are still harvesting tomatoes AND sweet corn is amazing to me. Definitely a good year for produce. Love you videos. That dog food Callie is bagging looks yummy.
Look at those beautiful fall colors in the hills! My ancestors settled in PA in the late 1600’s and even though many trickled down the the western states many have remained there. I’ve never been to Pa but it’s on my bucket list😊
I have a book about my mom's side of the family who were a part of William Penn's colony and it follows them to the 1980's. They were Quakers and my family is the last in the book. Watching this channel and other videos about rural PA has convinced me I need to make the trip someday in the future, and I will definitely visit the farm store ❤
@@cynthiahansen691 my dads family were prevalent in Centre, Huntingdon, and Mifflin Counties mostly. One of my GGGG grandfathers was listed in the Centre County history book as spending the night in the stocks for drunk and disorderly♥️😂😂😂. So proud😂😂😂😂😂 NOT, lol

Oh, it would be such a joy to be able to run through and pick baskets of everything. Amazing harvest this year. It has certainly made up for last year!
Hi Y'all, from flooded Ridge Manor Florida❤!! Wish you an awesome fall season, and plentiful harvest. We have 4 ft of the Withlacoochee River in our yard...saw fish biting at dragon flies next to my floating trampoline😂😂😂
Maybe put a chalk board or dry erase board near your wash machine, each time you bring in product update your number of "baskets filled so far in 2025" and so on. Love your videos, happy continued harvest to you.
I love seeing the chickens going crazy for potatoes and peppers. I remember the cows getting excited over something I think it was pumpkins but can’t remember for sure. I love your channel so much and with the holidays coming soon as you keep the ovens full of pies, cookies and loaves of holiday goodies. I know you guys work your tails off you really don’t get all the breaks as far as time that many do. Stay safe I pray that you will always have your farm and family.
Love that you’re leaving some stems on the beets; for me makes canning them easier and also keeps some of the juice from siphoning out in cooking process.
My husband and I were about thirty minutes from your farm this weekend. We traveled to Lancaster down 222. We drove from CT for my uncle’s celebration of life memorial. Such a beautiful area.
I know I say this on practically every video but those babies!! Such adorable little faces and I love the big smiles!! I'd be at those cheeks smooching them up all day!! Nice cuddly age!
This particular year seems to be a highly banner year for your farm's vegetable harvests. Remarkable tomatoes you showed in today's video. Large plump vine-ripened plum paste tomatoes. Your potato crop looks exceptional too.
Wow, Andrew, it’s unbelievable that you’re picking plum tomatoes in the middle of October! This has been a great year for your farm and I’m so very happy for y’all🤗. I really love that potato machine…lots of potatoes to be harvested😉. Our country cannot thrive without all of the hard working farmers! Thank you all for everything you do year in and year out! I never get tired of the sound of picking the bell peppers💜! I can’t believe how big Callie is getting🤗!
Good morning Andrew and Family, it all seems to be going so well. Always work to be done on the farm, you have been so blessed with a wonderful harvest, it really is amazing. The twins are growing up so beautifully. They are beautiful children and not forgetting Callie, she speaks well to the camera. You are doing a great job as parents, may you always have direction. It is a big responsibility raising children a full time work of love and care. Do take care, many blessings.
Lauren is looking so great!!! All of you, your whole family is absolutely a whole other level of goals. I wish my family was like yours. Love this channel!❤
Look at that October sky….❤… and I truly appreciate and respect that your farm is run on defined hours for the most part. Definite lunch break for everyone, and set quitting time. Parameters help attitude a Lot!
Hello Veggie People 👋! It's an awesome year when you can continue to serve your customers at this late date🎉. Spuds abound🔥! Chicken 😍. Beautiful RedBeets👍. JO JO IN VT 💞🍁
I have bragged on all the great produce you are harvesting in October! I wish people here in Missouri would attempt to stage produce like that, especially sweet corn!
Wow,,andrew,,we just can't believe tomato's a d bell peppers are still there, much less sweet corn,,,wow totally awsum..love it. Stay warm...Wayne and pat missouri
Joel should be happy with all those rocks you dug up. He aught to be able to make French drains for like 10-12 pole barns just from this year's potato harvest. 😂
Hi Andrew, how many tons of potatoes do you grow per acre, looks a good crop. In England we used to get 30 + tons per acre. I noticed your dinner, just spaghetti and meat, I would want a third of the spaghetti and meat and two thirds of the plate with broccoli, cauliflower, peas, kale, chard and anything else. I always eat the vegetables first if I have room I then eat the meat and only eat the spaghetti if I am still quite hungry. I often make butter bean or chick pea curry and give the gut a rest as it digests much easier than eating meat. I can't claim that I stay slim that way, I just feel a lot better. NB. I cannot eat wheat gluten so usually eat maize pasta (if I have to eat pasta!)
SO MUCH PRODUCE THIS YEAR! MAYBE THE PRICES WILL BE DOWN AT SAFEWAY. LOL. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND MANY PRAYERS 🙏🏻 NURSE JUDI IN SCOTTSDALE AZ AND E MINISTER 🙏🏻 📿😇💕✨️✝️🙏🏻
In the pecan groves they use what is called a squirrel chaser. It fires 12ga. Blanks in the air. And it's on a programmable timer. Great for keeping pests out.
Another great vid! Love your content and the atmosphere around your farm. Have you considered rigging up more track to that last conveyor so you could push up those potatoes into a hopper you could tow behind ya? My back aches thinking about all those potatoes. Great haul!
Can’t you pull a wagon along side the potato picker to offload the potatoes like you do with corn? Sure would help you get the potatoes in the barn, and then pick out the rocks and sort for size

It is amazing how long your harvest season is this year. Praise God
Tomato’s 🍅 and Sweet Corn. 🌽 Two (2) Great Summer Choices. Amazing and Blessed 🙏 that you’re still Picking both. 🤔👍
It was a good year for tomatoes and potatoes and peppers. I know y’all are glad.
Honestly, this video brightened my mood!
cracks me up that you still have fresh corn
This deserves so many more subs!
We loved it as the farmers wife always cooked us a great lunch.
Oh, it would be such a joy to be able to run through and pick baskets of everything. Amazing harvest this year. It has certainly made up for last year!
I hope grammy has all her freezers full of less than perfect tomatoes and peppers for Winter macaroni and hamburger goulash!
That potato harvester absolutely amazes me!
One of my favorite things is to see all the big equipment and how it works.

I could not believe how many tomatoes were still on the vines. And the amount of potatoes was unreal also.
Andrew, you produce really amazing videos and I appreciate how hard this must be as a busy dad/husband/farmer. Thanks !

I’ll look at Potatoes 🥔 in the Grocery Store in a totally different way going forward. 🤔👍
My favorite channel!!
Beautiful harvest and thanks for the views.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful harvest, amazing! It won’t be long before those chickens will need some bedding from the cold.🤗
Your content is diverse and informative. Thank you for helping me gain a clearer understanding of the world of agriculture!
i like how crunchy the peppers sounds like when y’all picking them❤
In upstate SC corn, tomatoes, peppers have been gone for months! The fact you have produce is amazing!
I really enjoy the veggie boys videos. I would love a farm like yours.

GOOD JOB!
I love watchingl your family!
Love the potatoes 🥔 😋

Looks like plenty of tomatoes available.
Thank God for such machinery ✝️🙌🏻. Thinking if had to do by hand oh boy 😫
Hand-picking potatoes is so old school.
Grammys got it made. I would love to just be able to tell my boys i need a bushel of this or a bushel of that. ❤
It's really a wonder that the rocks and stones don't tear up the machinery when harvesting the potatoes. 🙏🏾
Thank you for your service.
I’m going to miss the sound of peppers snapping off the plants. 😢
Luckily we can bing-watch old episodes ❤
You need to plant Kennebec potatoes for fries! They are the absolute best!
I didn’t think you could give potatoes to chickens. Now I can try giving them some.
Yall should start picking the excess out there and making homemade tomato sauce and ketchup.
amazing video: HUGE moment on the farm ! Thanks you
Picking tomatoes with gloves on.. that might be a first for me. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
Them chickens do a good impression of piranhas on those 🫑!
I loved the family bye bye!
Sweet corn and tomatoes potatoes
Hello veggie boys and girls, I want to see you clearing your peppers and tomato fields, I just wanted to know how you do it ❤❤❤
Can’t you pull a wagon along side the potato picker to offload the potatoes like you do with corn? Sure would help you get the potatoes in the barn, and then pick out the rocks and sort for size
Howdy 👋 everyone
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Hi everyone
Tell your dad Sarpo Mira’s are red potatoes that produce very well. He might want to try them.
Really good looking potatoes!
Great job 👏👍
Poor Logan of Broyans farm. Their machine broke and they had 3 rows of red potatoes left. Such a pity. Machines are so important on a farm.
