The 148 and 149bts can change to green, nut it's not the same. They used 4 separate leds for the colors, and you can tell. I wish they would go back to the old school look. Too
Everyone has gone to the blue for some reason. I always loved that alpine teal color. My cda105 I still use has red and ice blue wich is okay. But wish it had teal option
Thanks for this, my first car audio purchase was Kenwood, possibly Trio Kenwood but once i saw Alpine i was hooked, for many years and many £'s, head units have to evolve but you can't beat those famous six green buttons, i owned a 7939 (but not a true Alpine classic) but never the pleasure to own a 7909, which was a shame considering the thousands i did spend.
my love for alpine headunits go back to 1990 and my first pullout. Lamborghini countach used to advertise in Motor Trend magazines back in the day. I have always bought alpine headunits, the alpine 3d was my favorite. alpine 3d was my favorite. way before its time. I even had nakamichi decks and had the lights turned to the alpine green. hands down well made, at least back in the day.
In 1999 alpine introduces a first Mobile Multimedia Station. The product has built in A-Net function. Product has a 7 or 9 inch non-touch screen, but is controlled by buttons below the screen, and RDS Radio and screen-tilt. Some models has a built-in DVD player. All models includes GPS.
I already knew Alpine, and i knew Alps because of tearing down many Sony products and finding switches, buttons and pots with "ALPS" written all over the place. Did not care about the connection. Then i realized : ALPine. WOW. Blew my mind out. I love those Alpine systems, they were the talk of the town around 20 years ago, even more popular than Rockford or Kicker at the time. Wish they would really do more exiting products, not crap others make.
I still remember the outrage whenever they got rid of the green Chiclets and moved to soft touch. Though it was much nicer, soft touch didn’t carry the same cache’. Thanks for recapping the good old days
I had 2 of those CD players back in the late 80's early 90's.....$500 my ,my lord! Im still rocking a 4 channel Alpine for my mids and highs and a 500 watt rms Mom for my (2) 12" subs. Back in the day, all my speakers were RF and all my amps were all Alpines and it never changed in the last 30 years almost. Where did the time go?
I'm rock'n a 2001 CDA7873. My first video was about this head unit. Best damn car stereo I've ever had and I've had around 8-10, a better than a $300 new pioneer (ten years ago).
You forgot to mention that Alpine( long Before F1 came along ) also purchased Component speakers from Dynaudio in the 80's . Mid's ,Tweet's and 8 inch mid bass's. They were pricey as hell, But sounded so damn good.
My beef with Alpine was the in the mid 1990s their CD players for cars were apparently rigged to where they would NOT play CD-R disks. I have a Sony Deck at home that I bought in 1985 that plays CD-Rs just fine and it was produced before CD-Rs even existed. I always kept the original CDs in the house and played the copies in the car due to possible heat damage or theft. My girlfriend had the Alpine.
I had a stereo identical to the one I currently have in my early 94 Chevy Silverado Z71 extended cab short bed,I had temporarily installed in a 89 Chevy S10 short bed regular cab El 2wd 5spd truck of mine my younger brother was using I got off of a 2 nd shift job working 14 hrs. 5 days a week and decided to swap the stereo out of my 86 Chevy k20 custom deluxe since with it's cam and dual exhaust I didn't need a radio in it anyway, but I was tired and also had one maybe 2 Jim beam and cola's and installed the radio in the s10 and went to bed, next day my brother gets back from going to his best friend's house, and says wow... Two problems one the Sony xplod CDx L600x is upside down but it somehow does play, and two when you flip the faceplate up to eject the CD you have a CD stuck in your seat... Apparently it upside down ejects them with a little bit more pressure than they should..
Can anybody help me figure out what the Alpine head unit model was with the square screen, tape player, and controlled the changer? I can't find images or history of it anywhere online.
Years ago i picked up a low hour use Alpine 7289 custom security bracket and door speaker out of a bankrupt Millionaire music producers Lamborghini it is a lovely deck which has a straight though line option for phone such as mp3 ect. i also have a brand new Alpine Twin Speaker which takes both left and right signals interesting looks too.

BUT, and its a big but...... aftermarket is still king. There are still more single din cars driving around today that double. Alpine was THE headunit builder. Not anymore, and I hate it. hello, great video, I have a alpine 3566 6/5/4/3 amplifier, it is in 5 channel mode, it does 30W X 4 and 160W X 1, was alpine known to underrate there amps back in the day?

Ok I'm going to say this and before I do I know what everyone usually thinks of pyramid, but keep in mind most liked the 300 watt and the 500 gold series two channel amplifiers.. I ran a set of w0 JL audio 10 inch subwoofers on a pioneer keh -1700 Auto reverse cassette tape player and a Alpine 70x2 v power amplifier that really pushed those JL audio 10 inch subwoofers I put them in a q logic rf punch 10 bandpass box and the pyramid gold series 300 watt purple amplifier couldn't push them like that Alpine did.... Don't know the true wattage rating of either amp, but that 70x2 Alpine got worked now and never overheated,I overheated the pyramid one of every 5 times I ran it.. speaks volumes of Alpine and I'm sure they underated their products.. my buddy I got the JL audio 10 inch subwoofers from pushed them with a kac-921 Kenwood amplifier before switching to a bigger amplifier and a set of JL audio 12 inch w0 subwoofers in his 95 Ford LX mustang.

Well you know Alpine was the great product all the way through I would say about 2005 after that they started making stuff that really is low and stuff now. They're not making stuff in Japan or Korea anymore they're making all their stuff in China and you're getting stuff that's just cheaply made by Alpine they definitely are not the product that used to be in fact I'm going to write to him and tell him that they're missing the boat for people that want high quality and they don't offer any more. if I'm going to look for something out Alpine I'm going to look for something was made in Japan or South Korea and not made in China unless it's a V12 amp that's an exceptional you can take a chinese-made V12 amp the V12 series was just a great amp series especially the earlier ones but today Alpine amps are horrible the trash there Compact and made with plastic and their speakers are absolutely horrible there nothing like their old speakers their Dex obviously still have some Nostalgia to him today but nothing like the past.

Bob Snow I was unaware of such a changer. I am doing some more research and plan on redoing and updating this video, so thank you for the tip I will see what I can find.
hifivega it's alpine 7375.

CTM I haven’t had much experience with the newest stuff, but I’ve heard the same sentiment from many people.
Ese trauma que me cargo con los botones verdosos de alpine
Too many missing models.
