I believe the "future" of this game is as an ultra casual game that you can login to and do the occasional dungeon, 3v3 or OPR. They're never going to have a real end game loop that draws masses. Even their 10m content is something they've said is designed to be completed in under 15 minutes. So again. Ultra casual MMO. Maybe that's fills a niche but it's such a disappointment considering the potential this game has. Just my 2 cents.

The next expension should arrive much sooner then Sept. and it should be much harder. There's literally no point to release an other brimstone sands if you walk through the whole place in a day.. And it's not even their fault. The players asked for it. But these players thought that they can have it every month or every third month. But that's not how fast they can create a place like brimstone with that team..

My friend over at AGS told me that their strategy for new world is following: they will focus on expansions (income injection for the game) they only have 20 ppl working on the live game. The rest of the staff works with the new expansion + console version atm. They have no focus working on the content in between. Only release minor content. To give the active players the feeling that the content is still alive. (They just recycle old coded content).
Just to clarify, they announced the Rise of the Angry Earth on August 30, with a scheduled release of Oct 3. That's 5 weeks. So it is totally plausible that they announce some major update in May and release it in June. Or that they announce in April and release in May.
Honestly if they expect ppl to pay yearly they should lower the expansion price and roll the previous expansion content/features into the base game and remove the old expansions for purchase as they go. I doubt that they will do anorher brimstone-like experoence for free again. They have to do something though.
The gold cost for just getting a 3rd perk is crazy! I’d be nice if you could get item upgrades via playing the game and not farming bananas. I hate the gold grind in this game.

Of course fixing the elemental split damage bug will make ranged weapons weaker. THAT'S THE POINT. The developers meant to scale those weapons damage downwards in PVP which is why they introduced PVP scaling in the first place. If they fix the bug, they will just reduce the damage to what they intended in the first place.

The influence races affect open world ie territory control so must be open world but yes zergs make it no fun wait for ashes so you can get zerged all the time lol

I'm 4k hours into the game and at this point I'm closing in on finishing all my pve I could do. The game doesn't have long term replayability outside of hanging out with friends

New world is just always a day late and a dollar short. Maybe they are working on some fun stuff. But the rate of implementation is just too slow. The market is getting contested again. new mmos and other similiar game competing with new worlds niche are on the horizon and in 2024 and 2025 that competition will ramp up. meanwhile ags are dragging their feet implementing 1-2 pieces of valid content per year at best. Pretty much a lost cause at this point imo.
@NewWorldOddity should have to register at the faction vendor and be automatically dropped in to a raid group like war roster. Once registered only can be put in raids as other factions register to keep even numbers. Just has to be. Though honestly races are stupid unstructured zerg fests. PvP needs structure
doesn't matter even if the factions are somewhat balanced as they suggest, that doesn't also mean that pvp engagements will be balanced. A balance of numbers has to show up to the engagement @@planetg2125
yer the dawn set that i would need now some part of to make perfect medium but am pretty sure i salvaged them it´s just to much new named gear every wheir. The bones of NW are in place. New player experience is phenomenal. Now we just need those end game content additions to really push NW into that top tier MMO category (i.e. 20 man raids, PvP content, legendary character/mount skins, etc.). With the addition of the Cross-server GF and console release, NW is set up for some big things in 2024. Despite the pessimistic cloud over the game, I think there is still hope for the game.

Server populations are nowhere close to being even, on mine in US east the entire map is piss boys. Literally no zone for anyone else lol.
$50 AUD for the expansion was a hard pass for me. I'd pay about $25 tops.
