Thank you so much for your education. Without you showing and training and putting in work, mine would still be a joke.
I commented once, I had mine for ~8 years. Then I watched a video from you and in this year I gained more plant mass than in the years prior.
Plus I have 457,49 clones :)
Thanks for the video! I would really like one on how you prune after the season. Clearly they're growing HUGE and long... so how do you know when and how to trim back at the end of the season?
Do you have any cuttings for sale ?
How tall should the dragon fruit grow before you build a wooden trellis
Also what is the best soil for repot your dragon fruit . Mine are about 8-10 inches tall
Can we have a video about fertilizers to spray on aerial roots
Will add that to the list!
Thank you. This was very helpful. I would like to see how you have your wife hold those branches to help you tie them to the center without breaking.
You’re welcome! I’ll try to get a video of that next time 😊
Planted mine 3 years ago and this year ive got a bud in each branch, I hope most of them make it
I have loved the hylocereeae since I first started gardening many years ago. I love them for their flowers but the fruit are a bonus. They are much more popular & easy to find now. Thanks for the video.
Appreciate your great information and insights!
Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
This is very informative video ever. Thank you so much for sharing. Subscribed!
Great video, maybe an updated storing short term/long term pollen video, how long it lasts in fridge vs freezer.
Great video. I will be following your tips
Great video!
Thank you!
Amazing video as always. Keep up the great work. You motivated me to try dragonfruit growing in austria!
Most of mine are on the balcony now, here in Germany. So not too far away. If you watch enough of his video`s and get bold and mutig, you will grow monsters, too.
I don`t think we ever get enough sun for big, fat fruits but still so much fun, mine is currently air rooting a Cannabis plant. All friends!
Thank you so much! Good luck with the journey 😊
Glad yours are growing good over there
@@MrEiht good to hear they grow at least! How old are they? And do you use bloom fertiliser and tipping to increase the chance of blooming?
@aaronbrucker6062 mine are ages old. But I kept them in a tiny pot. Then I watched some videos here and began work. One might got big enough to bloom for the first time. Its more than a meter tall and grew in ~2years. So you can have some rapid, healthy growth, even "here". I use everything you can imagine to fertilize my plants. E.g. my Orchids get Cannabis plant bloom booster. Sometimes. I uploaded a short today of my balcony Cannabis plant which is cuddling with an undatus. Some Trichocereus are somewhere there, too.
Really enjoyed your video. First in line for your cuttings. Have a great 4th with your family.
I felt the same way. However everything on the site is marked sold out or coming soon. But After seeing the price tag of 85$ for some starts, I decided to stick with the unknown variety given to me by a neighbor. They are fun to grow but the fruit is really uneventful and not something your mouth waters about. There's a lot of other fruits worthy of a large price tag.dragon fruit isn't one of them. It's more of a novelty, hardly even worth the lower price of 20$. The channel is quite helpful tho with a lot of useful information and pleasant instruction
@@ollady7968 He is a great Dragon Fruit teacher and know what he is talking about. I enjoy seeing his videos and enjoy his grafting techniques. Price come from having followers that want what you have.
When saw your new video I became happy..🎉🎉
The brunches you cut , they are not hardy and they are soft too , is these cuttings are good for planting? I heard mature brunch cuttings give fruits faster
Thank you
Thanks from India! Iam learning from you how to care for dragon plants.
I have been reading your post & just recently decided to grow these plants. Where and how do I get cuttings of the ff:
1. American Beauty - self fertile and self pollinating
2. Sugar Dragon - self fertile
3. Pink Panther - self fertile
4. Sour Patch Kids - self fertile and usually self pollinating
5. Condor - self fertile and self pollinating
Thanks.
Hi am so glad i watched your video. I had mine for 6 yrs and i have 6 posts. During that time never had any fruit and i just got interested when it started producing last yr. Now im beginning to start really interested bec of your vlog. Mine is planted on the grnd and i didnt know that you can do it in the pot. Id like to plant some in pots. How can you secure the sturdiness of the post if its just in the pot? How many gals do i have to use and how tall is the post?
The post has 2 criss cross feet on the bottom
Mine are spike traps I don't even know what type of dragon fruit I've got I started 2 from tiny little cuttings now they are huge so this video is helpful or I wouldn't know what to do with them . I was thinking to graft a cutting to a san Pedro cactus wonder what will come of it
Thanks for sharing. The cuttings you have removed or pruned. If you have to plant them how long will they start producing fruits?
Nice video, and you have setup a great store web page. I sent you a MSG. Have a great 4th with the family.
Hi richard thanx for your useful information about dragon fruit,
My question is
How to keep dragon fruit fresh after harvest for a long period of time?
Love your dragon fruit videos. I have a dragon fruit growing in a tree here in Florida and it has never fruited here. Cutting came from Nicaragua where it was probably pollinated by bats on our farm. I'll need to hand pollinate probably. Planning on taking it down & planting in pots.
Can I use 20-25 gallon grow bags?
The asunta 6 closet to the window has a branch growing out already just where you taped it to the trellis.
Ive only seen a few dragon fruit plants growing down from a pot in the air. Most are like what you have but are there any problems other then the weight of them with doing that?
👍👍👍
@26:20 You talk about the canopy. I'm at the stage where I topped mine and now have 3 beautiful branches going kinda crazy but it almost looks like they need topping too. But you say that those will eventually make my canopy? I don't want to cut anything until I know for sure. The other three mother plants at the bottom of the pot are growing slowly but this one is great. So I keep them and let them keep getting longer? This will make a canopy? Tia
মাশাআল্লাহ ❤❤❤

Love from Bangladesh❤️❤️
May I ask what mixture you use for- soil, sand and pit moss?
Good morning,
What variety of dragon fruit is sold in stores? I wonder if I will have fruit when I make a plant out of these, because I have grown several plants from seeds. The standard red ones with white flesh that pop up in Google when you type dragon fruit.
Do you have to hand pollinate any of these hybrids?
Yes definitely. Most of the varieties I currently have requires hand pollination
Hi Richard, I really like to buy some cuttings of the purple flowers variety. Do you sell them?
How do you grow dragonflies plant like the shape of a chrismas tree?
How many years do they continue to produce fruits?
👍👍✅
Richard: how tall are your trellis? I made mine based on your videos a few years ago, its around 6ft, and my DF produced about 10 fruit last year. This year the whole trellis is leaning and has fallen over. Someone suggested that I start over but I wouldn’t get fruit again this year.
I really wanna grow dragon fruit but i can't find cuttings?
if i have a plant that is budding now really well should i use fertilizer at this point or just let it flower
It’s the perfect time to fertilize! This will help it with producing fruits and keeping the plant healthy while it spends its energy flowering/fruiting.
@@GraftingDragonFruit thanks
Hi Richard where can I find shears carvature
Check the amazon link in the description of my video :)
how long will pollen keep for in the fridge, I have a plant that is budding but are not sure if it is self fertile , will have to ask for some pollin asap in town prior to the bus blooming so i dont loos the 11 buds
Got any Frankie’s reds yet? Small so so sweet and totally self pollinating. I live on Hawaii island. I wish I had known about the pruning techniques years ago and I have created monsters! Lots of fruit but way out of hand

I have question, my red moroccan bloom 4 times now but all turned yellow and died even i hand pollinate it
Did you cross pollinate with another variety?
@@GraftingDragonFruit I have now but it just new cuttings I bought recently 3 self fertile variety it would take few months before it blooms, I ask people online to identify my dragon fruit and they told me it's red Moroccan self fertile do I hand pollinate because it's not self pollinating variety I had to hand pollinate the stigma is long, 4 of them all drop off and I don't understand why it said it's self fertile but still drop off
Hi eleven day of cutting this and I look in the web and out off stack😢
Does your webshop actually ever get updated? 😅
I see you don't use gloves do you get thorns in your fingers? If so how to remove?
Do you have a date for your annual sale yet?
I don’t yet
Poderia me presentear com umas mudas, sou do Brasil...sua variedades são ótimas.
I don’t ship international, sorry
@@GraftingDragonFruit beleza, muito obrigado pelo retorno...um abraço.
I started my dragon fruit last year.I just wonder well I get fruit this year?
Most likely won’t. Usually takes about 18-24 months from grafting. Planting from ground up will take a bit longer
Why? Why do you do this? Now? I already clipped one tiny thing and promised I will prune more.
I know I am a bad guy, barely even trying my best :)
Have to do it 😁
@GraftingDragonFruit I need to be tamed, my plants too. Honestly, every time I see them I think how you would happily prune. Because you are confident they love the training, energy is sent in the right directions and the plant improves, gets stronger. It is just weak minded to let them out of control. As said, big thanks!
Surprisingly no one has thorns how is it possible
Why you have so much dragon plants? Are you doing as a business side hustle?
Thanks, Richard! Grateful that you would allow them to grow wild just to teach us.
