Hints: -Slabs are near the end of the level, the 1st one is up, the 2nd one is down. -Lust secret mission is in 2-3 and is tangentially related to the challenge, you just have to look hard enough... -the secret mission in gluttony is in the staircase room, however you won't be able to access it because you need to p-rank all levels in act I and the prelude. To achieve a p-rank you need to get an s in time, kills and style without dying. If you die before a checkpoint and restart at the start of a level it's fine.

1-S is a parody of puzzle games but more directly of "the witness", a very tough puzzle game this is made even more apparent with 1-S's level name, "the witless"
These are specific parodies tho, Something wicked either parodies Slender (the most notorious videogame monster) or Amnesia (navigate pitch dark enviroments). While Merg has already identified the second secret as a The Witness parody.
Here is a guide for the other secret levels (probobly said like 69 times already) In the lust layer,2-3 has 3 things you need to find and destroy.Once you have done that,a message will appear. Head back to the room with the waterfall and go through it.This secret level has a chance of hurting you mentally. In 3-1 in the gluttony layer,In the room with alot of stairs and climbing,has a cut off path that hides a door that you will need to prove yourself to it before it will let you through.Go back to all the previous levels and try to get a "P" rank.(Like pizza tower,you need to complete it perfectly). But there is a reason this door is sealed,As beyond it,Is someone and something are ready for you. (yes i had fun typing this comment)
You don't need to complete it perfectly lol, you can play super sloppy and still get a P rank on the main levels. This game is really forgiving until it isn't.

Gabriel, the judge of hell, gave Merg way less trouble than a slightly angry swordsmachine. BTW before anything you should get all secret buttons in Limbo, you get a new toy that i won't talk about. And there is a secret boss level once you Prank all the act 1 missions, i don't know much about them but it doesn't matter if you get hurt as long as you don't die, also check the titles that pop on your rank board when you kill an enemiy, each one corresponds to what you do when killing them and you get more points the more of these you get with each kill.
Hey, I'll just leave some more tips here :) Idk if you've realised it yet, but the red gun (sharpshooter)'s right click(s) can hit ennemies ranged attacks, which can explode them in the air, so you can use this to counter attack or just defend yourself . Green shotgun's overcharge can be used effectively even if it can damage you, if you use overcharge while dashing at the exact same time, you'll take no damage while dealing big damage in a huge radius Chaining coins increases the famage the more coins there is in the chain, and you can deflect some other weapons (such as blue railgun) of the coins, so you can deal crazy damage :) I can already tell you've improved alot (which will be needed if you ever play the harder difficulties), but there are some crazy movement tech you do not already know about, and these movement techs may be useful to find some secrets / finish levels faster Anyways, that's enough tips for today, see ya !
Some tips for gameplay in the future: - The railcannon does more damage after the opponent is shot by the nailgun - The red revolver does more damage when it bounces off the ground into an opponent - You can quickly kill a malicous face by shooting at it with the green shotgun pumped twice and then quickly switching to the blue shotgun

I think really the only comparable similarity between these games (cus let's be honest, yeah they both have P ranks but a lot of games that have a rank above S have that including many rhythm games, and while generally speed based the stuff you need to do to get them is largely different) is how cool their secret are, and how the challenges/chef tasks encourage you to find them. Even just going for better ranks, if different, in both games they get you to explore the whole level and really learn awesomely designed they are. 5:06 Yooooo seeing the Swordsmachine tearing it up through enemies too is such a cool secret.
Each secret level is based on a different game genre. 0-S is a horror game, 1-S is a puzzle game. Find the theme of each layer, and you can guess what the secret level could be about.
Heres some tips you probably still dont know and may start doing! 1: all of your weapons can have its bullet[s] effective on the coins just switch really fast to the gun you want to do it with like the railgun which is amazing with damage yet the guns you cant use with the coins are obviously the shotgun, the minigun you have, and the next weapon you get. 2: the yellow spot you see a moment from enemies means you can parry blue does not let you 3: if you hold the melee button while the red arm is equipped you do a shotgun blast which can repel the green tracking bullets by mindflayers. 4: if you hold tab you have a menu appear on the top left showing your time, score, kills including the challenge and secrets with the grade you currently have! [holding it down for an ammount of time keeps it there until you press tab again] 5: coins are very beneficial for boss fights and just general combat, getting good with them are vital if you want to have an easier time 6: movement is also very important as thats how you can have the S rank for your time in the level so boost hopping or slide jumps are quite important to master 7: you can use the magnet on the minigun on enemies and anything you wish but what you fire from the basic one also adds to the second mini's overcharge and its bullets also attach to the magnet aswell another strat people use for bosses. 8: also the electric railgun is used for some secrets aswell as its better for damage while the drill is just for surviving since you get constant blood. 9: soul orbs [the blue ones] make a shimmering sound so you can know when one is around or close by simply listening 10: doing melee with a skull inhand make the light a little brighter 11: all i can think of so far
Things you should really know: Charged sharpshooter shots can hit enemy projectiles to create a big explosion You can parry *any projectile/melee attack* as long as there isn't a blue flash beforehand (or if it's hitscan) You can hit coins with other weapons (like the sharpshooter or railgun).
each of ultrakills secret missions covers a different genre (exept shooter obv) 0-S is horror 1-S are puzzles and so on... Each Act also has a Prime sanctum which is kind of like the secret final boss of each act.
‘The witless’ , I get that reference, that experience was both breathtakingly amazing and rage inducing, I was stuck on that last giant puzzle at the bottom floor for years, I was too stubborn to look up a guide.
Hey merg Whenever you felt ready for p ranks the following moves can really help More shotgun punches Shooting coins, especially chaining them. Shooting coins with the railcanon (this one is OP for the main game as well) Setting up magnet nailgun traps really helps with crowd management as well. P.S: funny skeleton man in thumbnail
Hey Here's some quick tips for the green variant of the shotgun and nailgun since you like using them so much. Firstly for the Shotgun it does slightly less damage then the blue varient so I'd reccomend Using it on smaller enemies or pump charging for large amounts of damage at the start of a boss / miniboss. Second tip for the shotgun: if you do 4 pumps (the self distruct) and use the dashes I-frames to take no damage and deal lots of damage, though the timing is tricky (I'd recomend practising in the elevator.) For the nailgun: There is like an optimal rotation for the varients (because of the green varients damage penalty) it goes: Magnet, Overheat burst, Overheat burst, Blue varient. More tips in the next video, I hope you see them. Love your content keep up the great work❤
At 14:26 the intended way to do that jump was to do a bounce jump by slaming and jumping repeatedly which makes you reach higher. For some reason the game never tells you that this is a thing lol.
The game gives away like a good 95% of all tech and movement abilities through its tips, and its terminal entries,given you actually read them. The only thing off the top of my head that i dont think the game mentions or hints at is slam storage
Tips for your gameplay so I wont have to cry every time i watch you play (I know this is kinda a long list but bear with me because you will need to get good at a lot of this for act 2): Movement: When you want to get somewhere fast, slide because it is your fastest method of moving around (for now). Think of your slide as your sprint key. If you need to kill and an enemy that is kinda far from you, slide toward them to close he distance and be able to dodge their shots at the same time. Plus it gives you more style points as well so its good to get in the habit of sliding more often. Also make use of your dash more often to dodge attacks. This is a common problem with beginners and it is vital you dash more often because dashing gives you invincibilty allowing you to dodge any attack and also pull of a powerful move using the overpump shotgun. Enemies: those blue and white enemies are called soldiers and they have damage resistance. However, they become vulnerable when launched in the air. Feedbacker (blue arm): Your parrying is very good but keep in mind any attack with a yellow flash can be parried at a specific time. Also keep in mind that the range of your blue arm is longer than you think so your parry range is much longer than you think it might be. Knuckleblaster (red arm): Please use this arm more pleaseeeeee. This arm is really good for damage when you dont have a gun out or if want to just add more damage. For example, using this with the pump shotgun will deal massive damage and could even lead to a malicious face (aka maurice) instakill. Ill explain that in a bit tho. You can also parry with this arms shockwave as well which makes it pretty good for certain enemies such as mindflayers or maurice Sharpshooter: the sharpshooters chargeup can destroy enemy projectiles causing them to explode which is why you randomly get explosions sometimes when you use it sometimes. Use this to your advantage to get a lot of damage and style points. This can be good against mindflayers, maurice, and basically any enemy that shoots you Marksman: this is literally the best variant in the game because of how it can combo wih most of your arsenal. You can use the piercer revolver and your railgun on it and using a coin with one of these weapons also increases the damage the shot does depending on how many coins you chain together. The problem with your use of it is that you arent tracking the coin. You toss a coin then realize it is nearing the ground so you try to flick your mouse to it. This is a common beginner mistake, try to follow the coins trajectory and build up muscle memory or shooting coins. Because coin trajectory depends on which direction you are moving and how your are moving (dashing, sliding, jumping, etc). However, the muscle memory required to hit a coin is generally universal so getting down the muscle memory is important. You can also punch a coin with the blue arm and it will go to the nearest enemy and bounce up into the air after hitting an enemy thus making it possible to shoot it again after being punched. A coin can be punched infinitely which builds up damage on the coin infinitely as well which is an entire other advanced technique you dont have to worry about. Do also keep in mind that coins can be tossed through enemies so use this to your advantage with piercing weapons such as the electric railgun Shotgun: there is this super easy tech called shotgun swapping which is exactly what it sounds like. The pullout time for the shotgun is actually very short so you can fire one shotgun variant then switch to the other one to skip the priming animation and you can keep doing it forever. With projectile boosting as well, keep in mind it causes an explosion so its not the best option at point blank range. Also consider using core eject more, it is pretty versatile. Nailgun: not much you really need to change besides the fact that you are wasting your heatsinks with your overheat nailgun. Try to use as much of the orange bar by holding down right click for the whole duration to get as much damage as you can out. Also when you shoot with the attractor nailgun it instantly charges up the overheat nailgun so you can shoot once with the attractor then quickly switch to your overheat to be able to use a fully charged heatsink Railgun: the drill is very situational as you may of hear so try to use the electric railgun more because it combos with your coin super well and does a lot of damage. You can even instakill cerberus using 2 coins and a railgun shot but thats a thing that we will tell you about another day. Yea thats about it, sorry for the long list if youre even reading this lol. If you want a hint for the slabs in 1-1 and 1-2, you'll find them near the end of both levels, near the final room (and make sure to check for walls you can break with explosions) also a tip for shotgun boosting; parrying your shotgun shot only turns one of the pellets into a fast explosive projectile (that can hurt you), so if you're using the pump shotgun you should stick to either loading multiple times for close range, or a shotgun boost from a distance depending on your situation, you dont need to load multiple times then boost in the same shot.
Tip: You can double-tap to keep the score counter on screen while you play. Edit: you might wanna go for perfect rankings. There are secrets to get if you do Also: the bonus orbs are the requirements for weapon skins. Your choice if you want them or not

Some challenge tips: 0-3: the top of the first room is made of glass and is connected to the room right before the second boss room, you can break the glass, go up there and fight swordsmachine there as the first enemy. 0-4: just kill everyone and unlock the final door. Make sure you didn't break any glass in the final room, and just slide right to the finish. 0-5: the two cerberi there can damage themselves with the orb throw, so damage them until their almost dead then bait an orb throw at the feet 1-2: at one of the secrets there are two electrical things behind the secret. Shoot it with the electric railcannon (the blue one). 1-4: right above the door is some glass. Shoot it and climb over it 2-1: next to the ramp in the first room, there is a breakable wall. Break it and continue on untile right before the second tower's door. Blow youself up and around the tower so that youn can end up on the other side 2-2: theres no secrets here, just memorize where the boxes are and git gud at movement 2-3: there are three boxes around the level, which when broken, will drain most of the water in the level. 2-4: this one's obvious, just parry the guy at the end 3-1: in the first arena (right after the malicious face) there is a blood orb path in the acid. Take it and stay in the acid path until the midflayer dies. You should also try and deal as much damage as possible to the mindflayer before doing the trick so that they die faster. 3-2: enter his second phase while over the pit.
limbo: find little hidden buttons (may or may not induce radiation posioning) lust: in sheer heart attack, find three boxes to hit which will shut off the water gluttony: in the big room with the tongue walkway, find a little outcropping that has a door. the door on the other side will require you to p rank every act one level to open (s time, s kills, s style with no restarts)
Nearly everything a swordsmachine can do can be parried, but it will make it angry if you do. There's actually alot of things that can be parried, like how you punched the face right before it shot its beam to finish it off. You can even parry the filth (the first enemies) jumping at you. Parrying is very good.
I would really like to see you get the Limbo super-secret. You remember the III slab you pressed on 1-3? There are two more in 1-1 and 1-2. The one in 1-1 is somewhere on the last room, and the one in 1-2 is on a destructible wall on the lava pool behind a door (along with something else). When you go to 1-4 then, you'll get a nice reward. Also, yes, there is a secret in Gluttony. And like a comment already said, both the Lust secret level and the Gluttony secret will change you, but in different ways. I'd advise going for the Lust secret level and leaving the Gluttony secret until you finished both acts, because P-ranking every level is something better done with all the arsenal and practice you get by playing the game normally. Yeah merg's community is somehow really good when it comes to spoilers. Especially during his omori playthrough. Omori is the type of game where one tiny spoiler can completely ruin the whole experience, so I was astonished by the fact that they were able to give him tips and guide him through the game without spoiling anything. Truly a blessed community (gabriel would be proud)

In case you're wondering, every layer has a secret level, with the last layer having a "very" special secret level, for wich you'll need to P-rank al levels on the act beforehand.

I think really the only comparable similarity between these games (cus let's be honest, yeah they both have P ranks but a lot of games that have a rank above S have that including many rhythm games, and while generally speed based the stuff you need to do to get them is largely different) is how cool their secret are, and how the challenges/chef tasks encourage you to find them. Even just going for better ranks, if different, in both games they get you to explore the whole level and really learn awesomely designed they are.

Each secret level is based on a different game genre.
0-S is a horror game, 1-S is a puzzle game. Find the theme of each layer, and you can guess what the secret level could be about.

Heres some tips you probably still dont know and may start doing!
1: all of your weapons can have its bullet[s] effective on the coins just switch really fast to the gun you want to do it with like the railgun which is amazing with damage yet the guns you cant use with the coins are obviously the shotgun, the minigun you have, and the next weapon you get.
2: the yellow spot you see a moment from enemies means you can parry blue does not let you
3: if you hold the melee button while the red arm is equipped you do a shotgun blast which can repel the green tracking bullets by mindflayers.
4: if you hold tab you have a menu appear on the top left showing your time, score, kills including the challenge and secrets with the grade you currently have! [holding it down for an ammount of time keeps it there until you press tab again]
5: coins are very beneficial for boss fights and just general combat, getting good with them are vital if you want to have an easier time
6: movement is also very important as thats how you can have the S rank for your time in the level so boost hopping or slide jumps are quite important to master
7: you can use the magnet on the minigun on enemies and anything you wish but what you fire from the basic one also adds to the second mini's overcharge and its bullets also attach to the magnet aswell another strat people use for bosses.
8: also the electric railgun is used for some secrets aswell as its better for damage while the drill is just for surviving since you get constant blood.
9: soul orbs [the blue ones] make a shimmering sound so you can know when one is around or close by simply listening
10: doing melee with a skull inhand make the light a little brighter
11: all i can think of so far
Things you should really know:
Charged sharpshooter shots can hit enemy projectiles to create a big explosion
You can parry *any projectile/melee attack* as long as there isn't a blue flash beforehand (or if it's hitscan)
You can hit coins with other weapons (like the sharpshooter or railgun).

Each Act also has a Prime sanctum which is kind of like the secret final boss of each act.
‘The witless’ , I get that reference, that experience was both breathtakingly amazing and rage inducing, I was stuck on that last giant puzzle at the bottom floor for years, I was too stubborn to look up a guide.

More shotgun punches
Shooting coins, especially chaining them.
Shooting coins with the railcanon (this one is OP for the main game as well)
Setting up magnet nailgun traps really helps with crowd management as well.

Hey Here's some quick tips for the green variant of the shotgun and nailgun since you like using them so much.
Firstly for the Shotgun it does slightly less damage then the blue varient so I'd reccomend Using it on smaller enemies or pump charging for large amounts of damage at the start of a boss / miniboss.
Second tip for the shotgun: if you do 4 pumps (the self distruct) and use the dashes I-frames to take no damage and deal lots of damage, though the timing is tricky (I'd recomend practising in the elevator.)
For the nailgun: There is like an optimal rotation for the varients (because of the green varients damage penalty) it goes: Magnet, Overheat burst, Overheat burst, Blue varient.

At 14:26 the intended way to do that jump was to do a bounce jump by slaming and jumping repeatedly which makes you reach higher.

The game gives away like a good 95% of all tech and movement abilities through its tips, and its terminal entries,given you actually read them. The only thing off the top of my head that i dont think the game mentions or hints at is slam storage

Tips for your gameplay so I wont have to cry every time i watch you play (I know this is kinda a long list but bear with me because you will need to get good at a lot of this for act 2):
Movement: When you want to get somewhere fast, slide because it is your fastest method of moving around (for now). Think of your slide as your sprint key. If you need to kill and an enemy that is kinda far from you, slide toward them to close he distance and be able to dodge their shots at the same time. Plus it gives you more style points as well so its good to get in the habit of sliding more often. Also make use of your dash more often to dodge attacks. This is a common problem with beginners and it is vital you dash more often because dashing gives you invincibilty allowing you to dodge any attack and also pull of a powerful move using the overpump shotgun.
Enemies: those blue and white enemies are called soldiers and they have damage resistance. However, they become vulnerable when launched in the air.
Feedbacker (blue arm): Your parrying is very good but keep in mind any attack with a yellow flash can be parried at a specific time. Also keep in mind that the range of your blue arm is longer than you think so your parry range is much longer than you think it might be.
Knuckleblaster (red arm): Please use this arm more pleaseeeeee. This arm is really good for damage when you dont have a gun out or if want to just add more damage. For example, using this with the pump shotgun will deal massive damage and could even lead to a malicious face (aka maurice) instakill. Ill explain that in a bit tho. You can also parry with this arms shockwave as well which makes it pretty good for certain enemies such as mindflayers or maurice
Sharpshooter: the sharpshooters chargeup can destroy enemy projectiles causing them to explode which is why you randomly get explosions sometimes when you use it sometimes. Use this to your advantage to get a lot of damage and style points. This can be good against mindflayers, maurice, and basically any enemy that shoots you
Marksman: this is literally the best variant in the game because of how it can combo wih most of your arsenal. You can use the piercer revolver and your railgun on it and using a coin with one of these weapons also increases the damage the shot does depending on how many coins you chain together. The problem with your use of it is that you arent tracking the coin. You toss a coin then realize it is nearing the ground so you try to flick your mouse to it. This is a common beginner mistake, try to follow the coins trajectory and build up muscle memory or shooting coins. Because coin trajectory depends on which direction you are moving and how your are moving (dashing, sliding, jumping, etc). However, the muscle memory required to hit a coin is generally universal so getting down the muscle memory is important. You can also punch a coin with the blue arm and it will go to the nearest enemy and bounce up into the air after hitting an enemy thus making it possible to shoot it again after being punched. A coin can be punched infinitely which builds up damage on the coin infinitely as well which is an entire other advanced technique you dont have to worry about. Do also keep in mind that coins can be tossed through enemies so use this to your advantage with piercing weapons such as the electric railgun
Shotgun: there is this super easy tech called shotgun swapping which is exactly what it sounds like. The pullout time for the shotgun is actually very short so you can fire one shotgun variant then switch to the other one to skip the priming animation and you can keep doing it forever. With projectile boosting as well, keep in mind it causes an explosion so its not the best option at point blank range. Also consider using core eject more, it is pretty versatile.
Nailgun: not much you really need to change besides the fact that you are wasting your heatsinks with your overheat nailgun. Try to use as much of the orange bar by holding down right click for the whole duration to get as much damage as you can out. Also when you shoot with the attractor nailgun it instantly charges up the overheat nailgun so you can shoot once with the attractor then quickly switch to your overheat to be able to use a fully charged heatsink
Railgun: the drill is very situational as you may of hear so try to use the electric railgun more because it combos with your coin super well and does a lot of damage. You can even instakill cerberus using 2 coins and a railgun shot but thats a thing that we will tell you about another day.

If you want a hint for the slabs in 1-1 and 1-2, you'll find them near the end of both levels, near the final room (and make sure to check for walls you can break with explosions)
also a tip for shotgun boosting; parrying your shotgun shot only turns one of the pellets into a fast explosive projectile (that can hurt you), so if you're using the pump shotgun you should stick to either loading multiple times for close range, or a shotgun boost from a distance depending on your situation, you dont need to load multiple times then boost in the same shot.

Some challenge tips:
0-3: the top of the first room is made of glass and is connected to the room right before the second boss room, you can break the glass, go up there and fight swordsmachine there as the first enemy.
0-4: just kill everyone and unlock the final door. Make sure you didn't break any glass in the final room, and just slide right to the finish.
0-5: the two cerberi there can damage themselves with the orb throw, so damage them until their almost dead then bait an orb throw at the feet
1-2: at one of the secrets there are two electrical things behind the secret. Shoot it with the electric railcannon (the blue one).
1-4: right above the door is some glass. Shoot it and climb over it
2-1: next to the ramp in the first room, there is a breakable wall. Break it and continue on untile right before the second tower's door. Blow youself up and around the tower so that youn can end up on the other side
2-2: theres no secrets here, just memorize where the boxes are and git gud at movement
2-3: there are three boxes around the level, which when broken, will drain most of the water in the level.
2-4: this one's obvious, just parry the guy at the end
3-1: in the first arena (right after the malicious face) there is a blood orb path in the acid. Take it and stay in the acid path until the midflayer dies. You should also try and deal as much damage as possible to the mindflayer before doing the trick so that they die faster.
3-2: enter his second phase while over the pit.

0-S is pure defenition of horror and helplessness you can't prove me otherwise

limbo: find little hidden buttons (may or may not induce radiation posioning)
lust: in sheer heart attack, find three boxes to hit which will shut off the water
gluttony: in the big room with the tongue walkway, find a little outcropping that has a door.
the door on the other side will require you to p rank every act one level to open (s time, s kills, s style with no restarts)

Nearly everything a swordsmachine can do can be parried, but it will make it angry if you do.
There's actually alot of things that can be parried, like how you punched the face right before it shot its beam to finish it off.
You can even parry the filth (the first enemies) jumping at you.
Parrying is very good.

You remember the III slab you pressed on 1-3? There are two more in 1-1 and 1-2. The one in 1-1 is somewhere on the last room, and the one in 1-2 is on a destructible wall on the lava pool behind a door (along with something else). When you go to 1-4 then, you'll get a nice reward. Also, yes, there is a secret in Gluttony. And like a comment already said, both the Lust secret level and the Gluttony secret will change you, but in different ways. I'd advise going for the Lust secret level and leaving the Gluttony secret until you finished both acts, because P-ranking every level is something better done with all the arsenal and practice you get by playing the game normally.

Hey merg do you remember Bonetale? the fighting game fangame? its getting a big update soon with new characters like Asgore and Gaster, and reworks to basically every character in the game + a character creator. You think you could play it when the update fully releases? Also there was stuff you hadn't even seen in your original play through like the Flowey character or new reworked frisk.
Only Ultrakill, a chaotic FPS game, can have a secret puzzle level in reference to The Witness. Only Ultrakill.

Yeah merg's community is somehow really good when it comes to spoilers. Especially during his omori playthrough. Omori is the type of game where one tiny spoiler can completely ruin the whole experience, so I was astonished by the fact that they were able to give him tips and guide him through the game without spoiling anything.
Truly a blessed community (gabriel would be proud)
