    Some nice looking designs here! Kershaw always has something for everyone. From more novel designs that interest 'non-knife' folks to some really solid, straightforward designs for people who don't want too much flash and stick to basics. Really digging the dura-lock designs. Especially the Monitor and Iridium. Would love to see some of these offered in more premium blade steels and different handle materials, too!
    The newest Launch 15 and the OTF look fantastic. Really well executed first OTF design. Glad they took their time making it right.

    I like kershaw more than benchmade because their prices are actually fair and realistic. Had a kershaw in my pocket everyday for years with zero issues.

      A lot of the Kershaws are Made in China. Not to say they aren't good knives, but where things are made means a lot to people. Kershaw makes some damn good knives, but the American line, the autos mostly are much higher quality. I for one will be buying a few of these new Kershaws! Definitely solid pricing on the American made stuff here.

    • @17_plus_WON
      @17_plus_WON ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also one has to consider materials. Kershaw uses some really poor steal choices on some of their knives. Smart on their part though. They are aiming at the average customer, not the 'knife nerds'. The average customers don't understand or particularly seem to care what the blade steel is. They just want a cool looking design and Kershaw still has that name recognition. So they're gonna sell a TON of these China made 8cr knives because they did pump out some pretty stellar designs this time.

    • @bozscaggzz7475
      @bozscaggzz7475 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Don't even look at the imports. Their American made line with great steel amd designs are still much more reasonable than the overpriced benchmade and spyderco.

    • @bozscaggzz7475
      @bozscaggzz7475 ปีที่แล้ว

      @A. Melbs the only spyderco I care for is shaman and yojimbo. But they are too expensive for something that I'm going to beat up.

      @@chrislorusso7895your right. I only look at or consider their made in USA knives. But their China line are good for the price, but just like you, not my cup of tea. You know Spyderco also produce a lot of China knives too.

    I’m definitely picking up the Kershaw Livewire OTF. My boss at work just got a Microtech OTF and it was around 500 bucks. But he mentioned that Kershaw made one that was just as good for 250, so that’s how I wound up on this video.
    I’ve owned Kershaw knives since the 70’s and have three of more modern assisted openers in my collection now. But man, the very best Kershaw I’ve ever owned I bought as a teenager in the 70’s. Easily the most beautiful folder of that era and I wish I still had it.
    A back lock of course, drop point blade, and very beefy. Deep finger grooves on the scales with thick brass bolsters on both ends.
    Not sure what happened to it but I’m sure I traded it for something years ago. I once traded an old Case Bowie knife for a 125 motorcycle, but that was a bad trade since the crankcase was cracked and I burnt out the engine at the dirt track. Kids, whatcha gonna do?
    I’m getting the Livewire asap. Thanks for the video and all the latest Kershaw offerings (from a year ago). 🤙🏼

      @@yournostroleeoleeolees. Yeah man! Kershaw was top of the line in the 70’s and 80’s. Then there was a few years they weren’t that great, since everyone started making knives, but now they’re back stronger than ever! Really neat designs now and still less expensive than the designer type knives from endless companies. But their older models had high carbon steel blades which nobody makes anymore because it’s too expensive. My old Kershaw cost maybe 75 bucks in the 70’s but that same blade steel and quality would probably be $500 now. And nobody would buy it because carbon steel rusts and requires lots of care. But it’s still by far the best blade steel. Back then, if a knife didn’t rust, then it was stainless and a piece of crap that will never get razor sharp like carbon. Nowadays, everyone boasts about stainless blended steels that don’t rust and require no care at all. That’s the opposite of what we wanted, we loved taking care of our knives. It was a matter of pride to keep older carbon steel in mint condition and pass it down to the sons and grandsons. Knives were family heirlooms.
      Now they’re almost disposable and so easy to replace. Oh well, times change.
      So cool you’re a Kershaw dude and you would have loved the really old ones that were around in my day.
      Keep collecting knives and have fun my friend! 🤙🏼👊

    Adding the Livewire to my BladeHQ wish list! Love the button placement. Others have it on the sides and don't carry comfortably as the button either is printing out the front of your pant leg or pushing into your leg. Well done Kershaw! Whenever someone talks about a big thick blade, I always look over at the beast mounted on the wall behind my bench.
    The Buckmaster 184 is a absolute beast of a knife. I bought it in 87 i think and set out to put a razor edge on it. After a couple cups of coffee and a couple cigarette breaks I achieved a very nice edge. Not razor but for a knife designed for chopping down trees it was more than enough.
    I carried it once on a backpacking bow hunt and it has been on the wall since 88.
    I now just show it off when someone asks WTH is that.
    I carry my Chris Reeve Pacific everywhere I am spending some time under the stars now days and couldn't be happier.

    Two I'm waiting to actually be available are the Launch 15 and Livewire. Also interested in the Frontrunning, Radar, Flyby and Strata Cleaver. I'll still get the automatics first. I have several of the Launch lineup already. So getting the latest plus the first Kershaw OTF is an easy decision.

    Very nice line of Kershaws, and great pricing. Clean looking knives! Thank you, J

    Still wish they would bring back the kershaw skyline. 2.4 oz, super thin, big functional blade for the weight and size, nice index finger slot that won't ever let you chop your own fingers off. Still the best edc ever. My benchmade 940 just gathers dust in my closet because the kershaw skyline is way better. Wish you guys would mention weight in these videos

    Hey Kershaw. The button is a lousy design on the Launch 16. I had to add a drop of JB Weld on top of the button to make it work.

    Pocket clip on the hinge side works best for quick draw blade in my opinion only complaint with the new knives. My old ken onion’s are always in both pockets at the ready!

    Kershaw has been always top 3 when it comes to ergomic handles/grip on the knives. They kill it every time

    Kershaw always top notch quality and designs. would think they've moved most off 8cr to D2 minimum. crkt has done so.
    Love a hollow grind. Lateral in D2 please

    I would buy more Kershaw if they were less assisted and less 8cr. Most of us aren't fans of spring assisted knives and even less of us are fans of 8cr steel. At least make d2 to standard steel. Literally anything better than 8cr and you'll get more people interested
