- Firing It Up The Museum, Ep. 12: One of the best parts about maintaining the cars in the museum is firing them up and listening to the engines. NOTE: We change our cars on exhibit often. Not all cars in our videos are still on display at the Museum.
Repairing the choke pull-off would fix that problem. It's what us old time mechanics called "loading up". Pretty easy fix. Look for a vacuum diaphragm that attaches to the choke plate. The diaphragm probably has a hole in it. Easy to repair if you can find a replacement unit.
I was a mechanic before we were "technicians" LOL.
At 3200+ pounds, it weighed nearly as much as an Ambassador!
