- In this travel vlog we are taking you with us to explore a typical day in our life in Puerto Escondido. Puerto Escondido Oaxaca has the most beautiful beaches in Mexico and is a 2021 top travel destination for backpackers, surfers, and really anyone who likes the sun & sand! If you are looking where to travel in 2021 look no further!
Come with us as we show you Playa Zicatela where the best surf is in Puerto Escondido. From there we head up to the street and take local transport to the La Punta neighborhood - a favorite among backpackers, where we do morning yoga, eat açaí bowls, and take you exploring on the beach. The fun doesn't stop there - but you'll just have to watch to see what we get up to later on in the day - YOU WON'T want to MISS the best sunset spot in Puerto Escondido!

Too funny, I was there 40 years ago and we had it all too ourselves. Nobody on the beach or in the water, had the surf all to myself at La Punta. No lifeguard, lol. Much bigger surf than this. Just me, turtles and sea snakes. There was only one market in town and a just few places to eat. Thanks for the memories of what it used to be, just a tiny sleepy secluded fishing village with awesome surf.

Just wow! You two are a great fun loving couple. This video is great. Thank you so much for sharing. I am looking for a beach place to stay long term and this looks great. How much do think you could live here long term per month?
I really think it depends what you are looking for. We stayed in a hotel with a large outdoor area and pool for $25 a night. I know some friends that were paying $800 for their apartment for the month. We were able to stay under $50 per day each, everything included and I know we could have spent even less. I would definitely recommend staying here long term, it is such a special place.

I hadn’t realized that you left Oaxaca City and moved to Puerto Escondido. I thought you went for a weekend, not a month! La Punta looks beautiful. How much longer are you staying in Mexico?
We were originally planning on just going for a couple weeks and we got there and fell in love with the place! We are actually back in the states now, Heidi's sister passed away unexpectedly so we flew back immediately last week. Will be here for a little bit while we get everything in order, and then back to full-time TH-cam creating!
