    Biggest Upcoming and Completed Mega Projects in Jamaica 2024!
    Jamaica is gearing up for significant infrastructure development, marking a transformative period for the island. With a focus on seamless mobility, a multibillion-dollar road improvement project is set to modernize 2,000 roads across the country, creating better connectivity for Jamaicans. Additionally, recent updates highlight various upcoming infrastructure projects, bids, tenders, and government contracts, indicating a robust commitment to development in Jamaica.
    Environment and infrastructure are major focal points for the upcoming year, according to the Governor-General of Jamaica. This emphasizes a comprehensive approach to development, covering both ecological considerations and essential infrastructure projects.
    As Jamaica embarks on this journey, it is evident that the government is prioritizing projects that will enhance the overall well-being and connectivity of its citizens while contributing to the nation's economic growth.

    I literally want to cry after seeing this video. I hope that all these things and more get materialized for Jamaica. We have such a beautiful country if only we knew how to better care for it. These plans about restoring the trains and the new highways are wonderful news. It breaks my heart whenever I return to Jamaica and see no improvement in ways of helping the average person. Then do a comparison of how well I see other countries take care of their country. I LOVE Jamaica with all my heart and this I hope is the beginning of a better, brighter, and prosperous present and future.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

      It's encouraging to see the directions that the island is taking and I hope that these plans be completed. But oñ the one hand some want to get rid of the prime minister añd his government and iñ the middle of that comes this announcement! These many projects that are being planned will present Jamaica in a new light . It will present itself in a new light from land, sea and air, the improvement will brighten Jamaica 's presence oñ the map.

      My dear, there's an underlying problem with downtrodden people...they are everywhere in most progressive countries. In Canada where I live, downtown Toronto is where you can find the unfortunate ones...it saddens my heart see my fellow people huddled overnight on the street grids to keep warm in the winter time. I too is one step away to join them....seriously! Unequal world and selfish people.

    We need the basic stuff like reliable water system and proper roads in rural areas.we need desperately an affordable,efficient transportation system

      Yes I think Jamaica needs reliable local public services, given my travels and experience, Jamaica needs to implement localized public and manage it where it currently exists. Many of this requires the people to demand that which they want supplied and not just complain, they also have to understand that they must pay the necessary fees and taxes to support these services and be a part of the process to hold those in supervision accountable. Many of the services which are nationalized needs to be managed by municipalities town or regionally in rural areas. These include EMS Fire Law Enforcement Healthcare Limited Road Maintenance and Development and and Utilities.

In some instances thugs are being sent to threaten people who refuse to sell their properties because it is required for development and blood has been shed. If outside interests want it they will be aided in their hostile takeover. I've noticed the influx of the type of people in JA. They are the people who can't make money/large profits in their own countries so are flooding Caribbean etc.
    There is no growth for the local people. Some of the have, no water, no electricity, nearby hospitals, adequate education and schools, roads full of potholes. My personal opinion on crime in Jamaica. It didn't start in the snap of a finger and it won't end with the snap of a finger by any 1 leader. The leader yes can introduce legislation to reduce crime and hold criminals accountable however the people have to support this, this currently is one of the biggest obstacles to crime because. I find it baffling that in a country where everyone is in each others business, no-one knows the commitants of crimes. Punish the direct commitant of crimes but punish also those who like to enjoy fruits of crime, yes those in places of power are not some unique humans so they shouldn't go unpunished.Jamaicans(the common citizen) who want the public services of local state and national government must understand that they must not only complain but demand(read the laws/ change old laws and above all bear the burden for things desired. One of the biggest reason why there's no local services in many of the rural areas is the lack of local tax revenue(I'm sure if a local MP or Caretaker was to campaign on creating a system to capture this revenue and in turn invest in people they'd get no votes, they'd be threatened. Lastly, people in Jamaica must begin to understand that people today create the future while the children given a sound foundation and upbringing enhances that future, not creating a future for the children result in what we're seeing, brain drain(the kids looks outside for success) and the enduring story of nutting nah gwaan become a motto.

    • @phyllisthompson4207
      @phyllisthompson4207 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      People should plan their lives before they get old! People need to educate themselves, rather than depending on Government. That said, Jamaican Government has done much more for poor people than the US, where homelessness is an epidemic !! People should not live their lives to depend on Government , everyone should have a plan.

      @trevorbailey1448 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Don't be affended but i think you are missing the point and intended infrastructure plans🤔 clearly the the details of the video talk about bringing the entire 14 parishes together with the road and transportation improvements, and as such people will be able to take advantage of business apportunity between parishes. The complete layout plan is the only way to offer individuals a apportunity to grab and make improvements to their lively hood 🤔 in your generation when was the last time you saw this happening in the country🤔 this has been the most comprehensive plan i have seen executed in my years , an if my brothers and sisters can't take a step forward in the lives with what's about to come their way , then you shouldn't asked the question you posted. Every country need these improvements to foster growth and it's you and the others need to take the opportunity and rise up , put your best forward with your brother/sister as a community, town , Parish to the entire Jamaica and build your lives according to your desire. Today, where you stand is a reflection of your mind and accomplishment of yesterday , tomorrow is up to you!

    It sounds very impressive, but it is a whole bag of nothing for the Jamaican people. It is a bag of hyperballies. It is a hype that has the potential to bamboozeling the people. Foreign investors will be the ones benifited from it. They didn't even mention Healthcare,Education/Training for the youth, and Farming to feed the nation. This is a nothing burger. The Railway proposal is the only local infrastructure that make sense for social economic development.

    Jamaica will never develop until it's people are able to move out of mental slavery and poverty. What good is a road is you drive irresponsibly and recklessly? There are places without running water and electricity to this day and Politicians parade around with big houses and million dollar pensions. Jamaica needed a real revolution to bring about change and Manley saw that but the bourgeois prevented that from happening. It's damn shame that such a blessed country still suffers to this day...

    Maybe the Diaspora need to start a petition that locks the country down until they can correct their disgusting banking system, government system, and every other system that so desperately need attention. The worst banking system, the worst hospital system, and so many other worst in the Caribbean - and they do it with great pride. Many Jamaicans living abroad would rather live at home, but with the disgusting attitude and incompetence of the Jamaican economy - no wonder we will settle in places where we are not necessarily welcome, but where we can do a great deal better than in our own home - Jamaica.
