Harry and James are on the phone and are like “no you upload first, no you” love their content
Hahaha 🤣
I’ve heard a rumor that they’re neighbors. I mean, I started it, but it’s clearly the only possibility
Who's Harry?
@@kevin.oY'know, prince harry
@@dickwinteredcan you tell us? I’m too lazy to deep dive
In psychology, it's said that human mind has limited decision making capacity and once you can't decide on what to wear you're wasting your ability to decide only on one artefact of your life... so wearing the same thing everyday doesn't waist your ability to decide on other things. One of the best video you've ever done.
This is so cool to hear, I didn’t even know about that. But it makes total sense!
Waste *
@@balto3273 prolly a typo. Delivered the message tho
A white T and jeans cannot be beaten as an outfit. It will always look good.
Agreed! Thanks for watching
Not on me. I am a overweight girl ….🙍🏼♀️
Only if it fits. Im kinda short for a german guy 178cm. And prefer shirts that ends on the waistline to show more leg. But mostly they dont. You have to buy a „cropped“ version that also doesnt work all the time
So refreshing to watch something other than 'must haves' or 'top things to buy this season' - great message. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much mate!
Honestly, I think a lot of people get sucked into this mentality of “I need 100 different unique outfits” when in reality this is way too expensive, requires a lot of washing and maintenance etc. you can just swap trousers / jumpers / shoes and you still have loads of outfits.
I’ve quickly had to stop feeling like I need to constantly buy clothes so I have several colour variations of the same thing
Yeah that’s exactly how I used to be! Very content with fewer things these days.
I just cant get over that beautiful floral lamp, great video as usual James
Haha, thank you! Try searching for lotus lamp on Facebook marketplace, that’s how I found mine.
Deciding what to wear is part of the fun 😂😭
I greatly appreciate you being so relatable.
Wonderful advice, which brings about a real appreciate of style and fashion, with tips to forge your own and have fun with it.
I've been watching for a few weeks and it's honestly brought about a real sense of self, and items I wear that are my 'uniform', and what I'd enjoy branching out into.
Very much appreciated, and thank you for your passion, good heart and endeavour.
Thanks so much for the kind words mate. Glad you like the content!
Thanks for another banger, James! All your points really hit home for me and I like that you’re not overly prescriptive about following advice. Can’t wait for the next one. The white t shirt is fyre btw❤️🔥
Thanks so much man! Glad you liked it!
Great tips! A set of uniforms is definitely key to repeating outfits, it usually contains a good base to change things up, eventually you will figure out what you like/looks good on you. Another important factor for me is familiarity, a repeated outfit, I know for sure I will feel confident and comfortable in without stressing myself out during the day 🤣
You are spot on there! Comfort is a huge part of it. Thank you for watching 😊
I really love this video, I like the idea about “uniform” and your video make me think about what is the “fits” i love to wear again and agian. Thanks for wonderful content, James!
All these fashion guys online have a very similar build. Just under 6’, wide shoulders, really slim waist (you said he bought pants that were 27” in a previous video which is mind boggling), and very fit. Yeah you look awesome, you are the size of the fit model. Every pair of shoes look good on you, every pair of pants, any shirt etc. Even when you look “bad” you look good because of your body underneath the clothes.
why don’t you get in shape then?
@@MarxMan0o this wasn’t a criticism. I was stating an objective fact. I’m the same size and build.
It's something I've realized myself after many years. A simple white tee just looks great, always. You don't need to have 50 shades of colors to look stylish or stand out.
100% agree!
you definitely dont stand out like that
Yeah definitely looks great but wont make you stand out
@@Bynasf depends on how you wear it. A badly fitting 'unique' shirt with little style cohesiveness will make you more forgettable. James Dean wore a basic white tee and denim.
@@lexi6081 I’m not sure about that. I wouldn’t say a white tee shirt makes you stand out regardless of how well it fits
i love the concept of one's uniform and have been using it for the past few years, works better for me than a capsule wardrobe. i find it extremely liberating. i have managed to collect a nice collection of good quality pieces over the years which i enjoy re-wearing
Same here man. I’m definitely a bit looser and mix it up from time to time but in general I like to stick to the same things, so much easier.
This is such a good message, thanks James!
Thank you! 🙏
I’m glad I have sorted out my personal style. Most of the time, I just pick what’s at the top of the shirt pile and what’s at the right side of the hanger rack. I make minor adjustments depending on mood, weather, and occasion. Having a limited color palette works well too.
Great video James, and one with an important message! As someone who's looking to cut down on my spending and the amount of items in my wardrobe, this was very useful advice.
Amazing to hear man, thank you for watching!
Well said. This approach makes for a better life, enjoying what you have and expressing yourself.
Agreed! Thanks for watching
I love how you do it. I do the same with my leather jeans I know what shirts go with them and truly how comfortable they make me feel. You look brilliant mate. 😊
Great to hear. Thank you man!
Enjoyed this! This is the way I try to approach things these days. What jeans are you wearing in those shots? Love the higher rise!
I just found this after not seeing one of your videos since like 2016. CRAZY how much your aesthetic has changed. We all grow up haha. This is what I dress like too now.
I like this simplicity 😊
Thank you!
I do something similar where in my phone notes I have Mon-Sun outfits planned for each season. Based on what’s on my wardrobe.
So every Monday during summer I’ll wear the same outfit. And so on for each season.
This is good bc you get good wear out of every piece of clothing you own until it eventually dies and then at some point you can replace it with a newer piece. It also gives peace of mind that I don’t need to worry about clothing all the time in my life
Love this, great idea!
By having a uniform, we have the opportuniity to imprint our clothing items with a bit of ourselves. And, particularly for our loved ones, that's not a trivial thing. Those who love us will get to better understand us, appreciate us, and remember us if we more regularly wear the same few times. "That jacket," for example, has the opportunity to be elevated, through wears, beyond just "a jacket." Even if there are others like it, some jackets are remembered as his/her/their jacket - and that kind of significance only happens with time and after hundreds of wears.
Great video, man! I love the idea of finding a "structural fit" (lol I just made that up) that works best for you and sticking to it. You can always make slight surface changes that won't affect the "structure", but that will help keeping it exciting and fun.
Also, I don't know if you that's what you mean to imply at all, but I like the concept of "everyday" vs. "going out" clothes. Like you said, it's exhausting to put too much thought into what you wear every single day. It's nice to just save that energy for a night out or a special occasion.
Structural fit is a great way of putting it! Yeah I definitely have a set of smarter/formal clothes because let’s be honest t-shirt and jeans isn’t going to work for every occasion (unfortunately!).
Me too! If I really like a certain top or clothing item, I will buy it in every color they have available 😊 makes life easier lol
Love this mentality. So dope 🔥
Thank you bro!
My main motivation to start doing this was to be able to use my favorite clothing pieces everyday. The hardest part has been finding replacements when some item is discontinued, but at the same time that same forced change has lead to improvement overall.
Yes great point - I used so have so many clothes that my favourites were rarely worn!
Another great video James, all good points, I tend to wear the same outfit all the time too (I’ve got multiples) and that’s just a black t shirt and black shorts or black sweatshirt and black sweatpant/trouser, and my shoe as of lately has been a loafer. I get hot easily so I tend to wear less or lightweight clothing. It does reduce decision fatigue. I’ve been thinking about buying more clothes in neutral colours. But I really dig the ald look too so I’m slightly mimicking them with my own twist and also for example buying new balance who they’ve collabed with. Also I love the PEARL necklace! Have a good day. ✌️
Love to hear it mate, sounds like my rotation! Yes love the ALD stuff, they make basics look so good! Thanks for watching
@@JamesLeung Your rotation seems much more colourful from what you showed in the video. They do make basics look good!
Harry and James Are Love Birds,
And We will Accept Them And Support Them No Matter What!
This makes a lot of sense to me. I might own 30 pieces of clothing (on purpose) but everything I own is higher end and I avoid buying anything fast fashion or that I don’t need. I’m also a licensed therapist (mental health) and having a daily uniform of a button down or sweater plus chinos or slacks. Plus either my Clark’s wallabee’s or my new balance 990’s just makes sense. Plus I like looking mature. Decision fatigue is a very real thing.
I love your vids man!
Thank you mate!
I used to be such a fashion victim in my teens and early twenties constantly striving to change my clothes, body, and social reception. I'm so much more confident now that I just wear a simple denim coat I've had since I was fifteen, a few pairs of pants that I like, derby shoes, and tote bag. It's great
Great video James. As a fashion TH-camr, I wear the same thing everyday. It’s a great way to keep things simple. You’ve inspired me with this video, thank you!
If you are happy to be considere boring, and wear something like a uniform without thinking, this is OK. But by definition it's the opposite of fashion. Fashion means change. 20 years the same isn't fashion.
Thanks for the vid James - you’re all dripped out ✨ Are you wearing 501 or 505 in the demo fits?
Haha thanks 😎 these are the 505s, slightly higher rise than my 501s!
Solid advice!
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Great video as all ways. I am in search for a belt, and I love belt you are wearing. But I know from previous videos that you thrifted it. I have tried looking online without any luck of finding a similar one, thats not the belt from Our Legacy. Do you know any good recommendations with a budget of maximum off 200£?
i’m the exact same way, I also mainly wear neutral colors which makes dressing fairly easy. As much as I may love fashion I enjoy practicality too much
As much as I love menswear and fashion, I really only get to wear what I truly want on the weekends since I need functional and durable clothing for work. I definitely go crazy with shoes though since all of my sneakers can be used as gym shoes for after work. It definitely gives my feet a break after being in work boots 90% of the time.
I love your tattoos 😊
Great point!
Thanks!
As always, absolutely on point with the approach here for "normal" people that dont have the time or money to have 300 different outfits like some influencers. Fantastic videos recently mate!
Yeah a lot of influencers (including myself) set ridiculous expectations sometimes. Hopefully this more realistic content is still fun to watch!
Honestly one or two pairs of good quality trousers are all you need! I have a pair of black UNIQLO jeans that I pretty much always wear.
Agreed 👍
super vlog!
Thanks!
Keep it simple ❤
🙏
@@JamesLeung amen!
Good video mate 👍
Thanks man! 🙏
i need that black trousers. where'd u that pic from? 4:32
Good stuff Jamo. You're the anti-influencer in the best way. Down to earth, relatable and honest. Keep it up. So rare in the mens fashion youtube-sphere.
P.S. Love the te ra my mate 😅
Thanks for the kind words my man! Haha taraaa!
nicee I also actually have pretty much the same thinking as what you are describing here... I rarely buy clothing items bcs I'm very picky on their fit, comfort n versatility.
but whenever I get one that ticks all the boxes, the satisfaction n appreciation for each pair makes your "investment" feel more valuable, which I really love, like a $12 vintage ralphe lauren jeans that I just got recently
also I just bought a grey asics gel-nyc, which is really cool n also extremely comfortable... you guys gotta check it out
Love to hear it! Yes I know that satisfaction, it’s the best!
Please could you do a video on the key pieces? Like which T-shirts and jeans you wear? Thanks 😊
Definitely will!
Hey dude, what is the striped T you’re wearing?
👁 LOVE UR OLIVER TWIST BANGS!!!!!!!
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
😂✌️
Imo I think cuffing pants when wearing low top shoes look weird. Love your content James ❤
Tried it without the cuff and hated it 😂 all personal preference I guess
@@JamesLeung maybe a cropped jean would look better
I do this with shoes. I usually have one pair of office shoes, and one pair of leisure shoes that I wear. I want each pair to be very comfortable and still look ok. Then I wear them until I fully replace them and throw them away.
That’s awesome 👍
OMG Finally found your youtube againnnnn ❤
Haha great to hear 🙌
@@JamesLeung I used to watch your youtube a long long time ago. So glad to see you again. ⚡️
this is being Normcore (defined back 10 years ago) 😉
Agree with this👌😊
Thanks man!
Thx James. Is it possible for you to do a summer-look outfit video? Something with shorts, it is getting very hot here in Southeast Asia, thx.
Where did you get your jeans? Your black leather jacket is beautiful
They’re vintage Levi’s!
my rotation for the last 10 years is:
- up to 10 pairs of sneakers
- up to 10 t-shirts
- up to 5 hoodies
- up to 5 jackets (+ 2-3 winter jackets during their season)
- up to 10 pairs of socks
- up to 5 pairs of dad shorts
- up to 5 caps
- 4 watches
- 3 necklaces
- 3 pairs of eyeglasses
they all look pretty much the same and when something gets worn out - i buy something new... AND I ALWAYS LOOK THE SAME =)) and i hate ocasions or events that require suits, shirts, ties and dress shoes... i got all that but i wear all those extremely rare...
I love these
Thank you!
@@JamesLeungNo problem.
i want to simplify my wardrobe mainly because i know there are pieces that i get excited to wear and I'd rather have a wardrobe with just those pieces in
Can you do a house tour pleaseee
I don't know if you ever bought from the original best made co but they're coming back and the quality was the best full stop.
No I haven’t heard of them before, I’ll take a look!
He just love "Uniqlo"
Congratulations
I completely understand you! I had the same focus on having a limited, utilitarian, highly functional wardrobe when I was younger. Now that I have reached maturity and traveled, my tastes expanded and I have a ton of things in my wardrobe from different styles and I wear it all depending on my mood and situation. I found that having limited choices in clothes no longer suited my personality and diverse interests. I read, I travel, attend parties and live a colorful life. Therefore having the tee the jeans and the jacket every day does not reflect my intellectual development, my taste, my education, my manners and my status. If you have something to say with your clothes, say it!
Great points 👍
do you know your Kibbe body type? and your color season? btw loved your approach with regards to your "uniform system"
I’m not sure actually! I’ve never thought to look into it
ID on leather jacket?
You gotta give us the link for the leather/denim jackets and the cardigan
Added for you! 👍
Oh my god this handsome lad. Subbed
The NB's you linked are womens. Do you size up a half size? Do you find them more narrow/wider?
Sorry mate, I’ve changed it to mens now!
What are the jeans in the video and how did you find that fit? I’d love to find it but it’s either too straight or overly baggy. Can’t seem to find that loose yet cropped at bottom fit
These are vintage Levi’s 505s off ebay. I tried my normal size 28 waist but they were too tight. So I found some 30 waist instead and they fit well. I cut the legs shorter with fabric scissors!
Hello from 🇰🇷. You and Harry has are my favorite Men's fashion creators. Please don't change your hairstyle. It looks really cool.
Hello! Thank you so much! I’m not sure what to do with my hair, so I’ll keep it the same for now!
so who you do?
