In that amount of time, there is no way that he had even a single chance to return to his mother, grab her, look for another teammate, and look for an available room. At 1st he fought, but once he was at the door, he decided it was best to stay with his "party" and MAYBE (as in, 50/50 chance) his mother dies; rather than an assured death for them both.
I have a theory that frontman might change for good it is a very slight chance but i just see the resemblence that in the first season Oh il nam didn't look out the window to see if he won and believed no one came to rescue but Frontman is shown seeing out the window 10:54 even if he is just looking at Gi hun or that poor guy doesn't matter, they focus on his reflection showing that he will realise with time that Gi hun is right and we can observe he blends well with other players in season 2 and genuinely enjoys their company, I know this might not happen but my gut says it might.

actually I saw a very important detail, so in s1 when playing marbles il nam forgets everything and when playing with gi hun he asks what date it is and says that in that month the 24th is his sons birthday, but when cop was viewing inho's file in 2015 player list inhos birthday was 02.02.1976 so I think inho is not his son or this is just another detail. Please check this.

3:31 I like the theory but, the front man’s back story was revealed to us, front man stated that in 2015 he was a police officer, his wife was sick like really sick and she was also pregnant and he couldn’t donate organs to her since he already gave a kidney to his brother, and one of his clients lended him so money to help but the other police men saw this as a bribery and fired him so he he went to the games to win money
so if il nam was the front man’s father it wouldn’t make any sense as to why he didn’t help them out, we know that il now is extremely rich he could’ve easily saved her
I also think he was just lying about not being able to drink milk to seem like a nice guy. Other than that though, it's also very common in Asia to be lactose intolerant.
I still think the detail about the son abandoning his mother was still (sorta) not his fault. He was already dragged but the idea of him going back could mean that there was a high chance that he would have died with his mom and I think he realized this. So instead of going back, he just went in.
It's still abandonment though, but I think in that situation he made the smarter decision, not necessarily the right one.

10:00 the bread gambling thing was related to the recruiters backstory. It's not explicitly explained, but when he's talking to gi-hun he killed his father in one of the games. Which means his father probably gambled away all his money when the recruiter was just a kid. Following the logic of the bread and scratch card I assume that the recruiter probably had to go hungry as a kid.

An argument I have about the son abandoning his mother is that she makes little effort to get him back after he joins the other players. It seems she's willing to be eliminated for his survival, and he reluctantly acknowledges this decision as he joins them.

I agree with what you said at 7:11 but I was also thinking that since Gi-hun pulled out a lighter that looks like a mag-fed pistol he reacted the way he did due to those actual guns shoot a bullet every trigger pull and not at random like a revolver so he was probably thinking that he was for sure going to die if Gi-hun pulled the trigger rather than to chance. Also it was 3 years difference and maybe he got more comfortable with guns as the years went on. But that’s just something I thought about.

One guy let go of his back, but his other hand was still on his left arm, and the other guy was also holding his left arm. They dragged him into the room, and he couldn't run back or escape as he was not steady on his feet.
