I must admit that after owning this Jet for a few months, I definitely wouldn't waste money sticking Seymour Duncans in it. I'm tempted to take the Fender ones back out too and stick in some Wilkinson Alnico V single coils. Although I am tempted with an Eric Clapton Style VIntage V6 icon that already has them in. So maybe I should buy one of those and swap the pickups between them. Undecided, but basically no more Jet guitars for me I'm afraid. :(
@@-rubbersoul- I’ve got another video of my Jet before I changed the pickups and tbh the stock Jet ones gave a good Frusciante sound. But all three of my Strats have different pickups and still sound like a Strat haha take care and thanks for watching
@@nathanchampionmusic Hi Nathan, I watched and enjoyed your jet JS300 journey. After seeing how you gradually made it yours, I'm now quite surprised that you write "basically no more Jet guitars for me I'm afraid. :(" But in a way I also understand. A guitar is quite personal, and bonding with the instrument is a bit mysterious. You have it with your Fender strat, but apparantly not with the Jet. I have a similar experience, only I didn't make so much effort. I owned a Jet JS400, but sent it back after a few days. I also baught a Jet JS300, and same story, sent it back after 2 days. Rock on!
@ thanks for watching and liking. It’s a shame about the Jet because TH-camrs made a big deal about them when they came out. hopefully you’ve found a guitar to bond with :)
I don’t think that you can really compare the two unless you use the same parts, especially the pickups! I got the Jet JS600 for £350 B stock, couldn’t find a single fault! It’s already got locking tuners and Alnico 5 vintage style pickups all I’ve changed is the nut, string trees and the trem springs. It’s a 2 point trem and is amazingly stable. I tried the new MIM Fenders out and to me they were definitely inferior. I didn’t NEED to change anything, it was fine out of the box but I did for my own confidence in it.
@@DarrellW_UK unfortunately my JS300 came with lots of faults so I had to change most things except the wood. My MIM is from 2017, so I can’t comment on the new ones but out the box I could’ve lived with it, the mods were just because I like tinkering. Thanks for watching and commenting and enjoy your JS600 :)
@@nathanchampionmusic on these sort of guitars I deliberately avoid the ones under about £250, they tend to be a bit of a mixed bag! I have owned Fender and Gibson guitars but no longer; I want a guitar that I’m not worrying about getting it stolen or damaged so have gone down a semi budget route. My two current favourite guitars are a Jet JT350 that now has Irongear pickups and a Harley Benton JA60 with Irongear P90’s and a Guyker Trem (Les Trem style) both are great guitars to play and sound amazing. I’ve had no issues with hard use of both of them including plenty of travelling around with them.
keep it up bro! more supporters to comee
@@ericyt-db1kf that would be nice :)
Interesting vid Nathan thanks. Not making my decision much easier though lol. I wonder how the Jet would sound with those Seymour Duncans in? Hmmmmmm

I put Fender Pure Vintage on the Jet s400 and replaced bridge : sound is very good but the feel of fender neck is another planet......
@@farko63 I feel the same, my 50’s classic series is the best guitar I’ve ever played! The Jet neck is very good too

What was wrong with the JS 300 that you received? @@nathanchampionmusic
