Point of Call' approved for Kannur - Official announcement soon
Kannur has been granted 'point of call' status which will be officially announced after the Lok Sabha 2024 election results are out. I can confirm all official documents are signed and done deal.
Approval came towards the end of March but could not be revealed officially due to elections. It has been a long wait for me and all concerned since end of March but sharing this here now as this news has been doing the rounds on WhatsApp after someone leaked it this past weekend.
I am aware since end of March that two UAE carriers have confirmed to open bookings after the official announcement comes out. No information yet on which airports are included apart from DXB and SHJ. We will be seeing some changes in flight schedules at other airports to accommodate seats for CNN. I think some changes have happened recently already since a month.
We will have to wait for the official announcement sometime post June 4th, 2024 and see how things pan out.

I'm not sure if closing off the flow of water with sand and building a road on top of it is the best idea. It could have some negative impacts on the road's stability in the long run, in my opinion. It may be better to build a bridge there instead.
