Adventure Now S.3,Ep.15. Sailing yacht Altor of Down - from Wicklow, Ireland to Wales & Falmouth, UK

- Hello and welcome to episode 15 of the 3rd Season of Adventure Now aboard sailing yacht Altor of Down, a Moody 44. Please join us as we visit beautiful Wicklow Town in the Republic of Ireland and then sail across the Irish Sea to Milford Haven in Wales where we spend three weeks awaiting a weather window to sail further south. We have a great time visiting friends new and old and sit out gales on a mooring buoy outside Pembroke Haven Yacht Club. Finally we get a northerly wind, albeit a gale, and we sail around Lands End. We get a kicking on the way across the Bristol Channel but we arrive safely in beautiful Falmouth, in Cornwall.
Filmed in October and November 2022 using a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000, a Rhode microphone and edited with iMovie.

Hi John :) Thanks for watching! Yes, eventually Mark sailed Altor single-handed to his home town while I had to fly to my homeland, however we've been back together on the boat for Christmas.

We’re now over-landing, getting from Boquete in Panama to Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica today. We’ll be in San Jose around Jan 3 & will head north to volcano country til almost the end of Jan, then it’s home & time to spend prep-time on Liv of Nyhavn. Spring & sailing can’t come soon enough after the Tropics.

Do as the Irish… have a cuppa tea. We have anchored there twice never went ashore when going south from Dublin. If you’re in Arklow say hi from Yvonne and John from Wave Dancer to Niall O’Toole the harbour master. He’s such a gentleman. We pop in just to visit him
Interesting to see Milford haven. Haven’t been in further than Dale
That was a pretty feisty sail from Milford to Falmouth. I remember watching the weather window at the same time, and wondering if you would make the leap. It was in Solva that I broke my ankle in July '21 so I didn't see as much of it as I wanted, other than The Harbour Inn. Great watching as always.
