I'm a first year student from IIT Bombay and for IIT Bombay I can definitely say that here you will never face any ragging and also you all are allotted a mentor for any issues you are facing plus first 2 months is the anti ragging period in which no senior can interact with you. Here at IITB each and every senior is most helping plus the curriculum is very flexible and chill so we like have no stress here and it's just fun. And talking about placements that 36% unplaced was wrong data and btw IITs are not just about placements, it's about the people you meet, the fun you have and everything. I don't have seen any caste discrimination by anyone in the campus till yet, I'm from general category but it doesn't matter, we don't ask anyone's caste before making them friends. So yes if you are preparing for JEE then IITB would be the best choice according to me. Also here we have no branch discrimination, your branch just doesn't matter here, we just chill and have fun together.

It is just you who don't ask caste before making friends but my brother and other his peers from reserved category faced constant discrimination from general category students... They will just ask your rank and branch indirectly and will guess the category of yours by considering the cutoffs. All are not same but majority of male general students are racist and misogynist ( due to female reservation).
@@ketan8943 It's not like majority of general candidates are like that, some of them would definitely be but many are not. The people I hang with and also my friends we just don't care about branch or caste. There would definitely be some people who discriminates but you cannot generalise that majority of general male are racist and misogynist. And the main reason behind discrimination is not caste or reservation, it's the misuse and loopholes in the reservation system. Yes few general people see someone from a reserved category whose parents or grandparents are government servants and he/she has each and every facility or even more than a middle class general candidate but even after that at same marks a general candidate might not get a seat or a seat in lower branch while the other person would get a better branch. So yes it would definitely hurt him that what was his mistake. I'm not here justifying any kind of discrimination or anything but the point is we have problems in our system which led to such circumstances. If reservation is only given to the deserving candidates and not just on the basis of caste then yes definitely no one would have any problem. But yes I totally agree there are few cases of discrimination upon which strict actions should definitely be taken.

Even my brother from iit kharagpur don't get a high paying job he got a package of only 18lpa and his one friend who is studying in a private college got a package of 36lpa. This shows that skills matter more than degree but some people don't understand this.

Placements are low because many students don't work on the skill sets instead they think that they are in IIT so they will 100% get a high paying job
Or you can say thet are not serious about placement and are not that desperate to get good placement because those who want good placement, work hard and in IITs everyone is well aware of prevailing competition and their position,where do they stand , placement is just an option B for some and they opt other things in college so you can’t really judge the things from here…..

• Cast system is a problem if goverment designs the education system in such a way that every student can get equal and standard level of education then there would be no discrimination on cast bases

In my location there are 4 IITIANS who run coaching classes for IIT preparation, I had asked to them why you not chosen of doing job instead of providing coaching to students and they said me "Har kisi ko job nhi mil pata"

Caste based reservations, instead of reducing caste-based differences, often make them worse and create a feeling of division. It makes social gaps wider instead of bringing people together.
One could say its a new caste system in disguise, where just the rankings of caste that were discriminated earlier are changed. Yes India is a poor country and to provide equal opportunities to all people, some type of reservation is necessary, such as those based on the economic state of the family. This would allow people from not-so-well areas, villages to be able to get seats in better colleges and can improve further generations of their family. I personally know around 4 sc/st guys that are from the same type of family as I am and some even better, getting into colleges much easier than me which as much as I would hate to say makes me feel different or separate from them.
I am against cast system because har caste ke liye alag alag cutoff hota. I think same hona chahiye sabke liye... and one more thing sc ki fees 0 hoti tuition wali and general ki nhi, I think parents income ke basis par hona chahiye fees payment. My friend committed suicide due to ragging. He tried hard to complain and even his phone was taken away. Next, he was made to do forced assignments and when he refused, he was beaten badly.at the end he gave up.

The syllabus and curriculum of IIT are not that simple and easy .
Many student commit suicide because they just can’t handle the academic pressure and society expectations .
Later if the student who committed it comes from reserved category then it is portrait as if he committed suicide due to caste discrimination
I also heard that questions in IIT sometimes is also research based. And Relative Marking is also terrific there. Is it true ?

@@Guyfromiit Bhaiya I wasn't even talking about the exam itself , your question was why they are preparing ? You might have been passionate enough for IIT and your expectations thereafter. But in general mostly its the parents forcing them, I think I shouldn't even say this to you cause you already know this. It's mostly about ₹ Crore Packages Jobs and no one is actually passionate about it.
Hi I am a 5th year student at IIT Kgp. There are some facts that I need you to correct mostly things talked in the video are correct but
1) JEE Advanced is not the only way to get in IITs but yeah for doing B. Tech (or any other UG or integrated UG-PG degree) you need JEE Advanced.
2) Students start prep for JEE Advanced from their 5th and 6th I agree but they are hardly 1-3% students who do this and yes I am against it.
3) I remember the case of Faiz (and probably there's no one in campus who don't know about that) and This is true that no one here will take the responsibility of your well being its just you and your close friends. you here at IIT is just a number, a child that's just 18-19 year old when comes 1st time out of their home to a complete isolated place to achieve the dreams should never face this what Faiz and his family have faced. but the fact is Faiz is not the only one. So at IIT it's very important for you to have friends who are like your family otherwise you won't be able to survive specially for the UGs. Also as a senior its our responsibility to not let any junior feel frightened at the same time its also the responsibility of juniors to behave respectfully with the seniors which with recent times I have seen diminishing.
4) for Ragging I would say in my hostel I never faced ragging neither my friends faced extreme ragging but now even these things have stopped almost to negligible.
5) I agree if you yourself say no and don't get involved with these things you will be safe from these things
6) for undue advantages I agree to the fact there are advantages in IIT just because you are from that caste and also some of my close friends from these communities agree that they shouldn't get these advantages due to caste but the way these advantages are given should be restructured in order to bring the thought of equality. what today's reservation system is doing is repeating the history of creating inequality.
7) I agree that people from SC, ST, and OBC face casteism in fact girls face racism which is mainly due to the advantages they get but I also would say instead of wasting time thinking what advantages SC, ST and OBC get we should think what is our goal and how we can achieve it. Since there's no point in discussing the advantages of others you will only get demotivated and a thought of jealousy will come to you for a person who has not even done something bad to you. this will only create hate among people.
8) Here at IIT in my friend circle I didn't even knew the caste and religion of people before they became my small family, Here once you enter no one asks you (At least no one in my knowledge was asked this) your JEE Rank, Your Caste, Your Religion, Family Financial Condition or even if you are LGBTQ+ until you become so close like a family.
9) I have some good friends who are from CS ECE dept also and also friends from AE GG dept so here at IIT KGP friends is not from the department but from the people you spend your time with but yeah, I agree there is a feeling of inferiority and superiority among some people regarding branch and CG best way is avoid those people out of 100 you can definitely find 3-4 such people.
10) about the crore package I would say that's just air if you really see the packages then you will find most of this is just one time bonus max to max people get 50LPA as base that too with outside India and extremely good profile in quant or AI, ML. for reality the base (Not CTC) you can expect for Chemical core is from 8-18 LPA (Which is far better then other institutes and there is a different reason)
Instead of telling all such things just say IIT IS is everything 🙄
I disagree with your point of undue advantage to the so-called lower caste.
* There's no level playing field for so called lower caste, back 75 years there was 100% educational reservation to so called upper caste , what ur ancestors were doing that time.
* Condition is yet not good for so-called lower caste people.

10. Resilience to Policy Changes: Ability to resist or mitigate the effects of policies aimed at reducing inequality.

@@aagamshah2005 better you go through the judgement, and it's not unconstitutional ,in Article 332, Constitution of India 1950 it's clearly written Seats shall be reserved for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes in colleges, government bodies, parliament, government jobs etc.
Reservations were an exception to this fundamental right (right to equality).

I don't understand people defending reservation i think what most don't understand is caste reservation itself has led to ratyer increase in casteism and hate for reserved castes, agar caste reservation hoti hi nhi to far kisi ko bhi caste se koi problem hoti hi nhi to isliye casteism bhi nhi hota,agar hota to jitna ho rakha hai utna nhi hota, reserved castes ki baat hi tab aati hai jab vo kam marls ke saath jyada seat le jate hai, jo jab ye small castes hi rich families ke hokar bhi vo benefits enjoy krte hai jo ki rather financially problems face krne walo ko milni chahiye,
